This is a short little book about the Enneagram, but it gives great information. There is a general discussion about the Enneagram and then it breaks down each type. This is a great intro to the Enneagram in a user friendly format.

A concise, easy to understand guide for the enneagram curious. The book is divided into colorful, engaging chapters that lend insight to oneself and others, with actionable healthy practices for each personality.

I was first exposed to the Enneagram of Personality through work where various personality tests and assessment are used to better understand workplace interpersonal-dynamics and improve working relationships. So I knew what my Enneatype was going into this book but I was hoping to re-test myself to see if I came out with the same results as I've gotten on previous occasions. So I was more than a little surprised to see that there was no test and readers were encouraged to read through the different types to discern which best matched them. This can be quite onerous for the casual reader as the book is about 170 odd pages and may dissuade them from picking it up in a bookstore or online.

However, if you look past that, this book provides a wealth of knowledge to those that are new to the subject. This includes a summary, primary motivations for the enneatypes, how they integrate, their subtype, and unlearning lies and behaviors that motivate each number.

(Netgalley ARC) Beautifully illustrated, although I would have like there being more on the history / development of the enneagram and more resources to figuring out which enneatype you are aside from reading about the individual types, and also how to figure it (once you know your enneatype) if you have a wing and which you are. I am not sure I would have felt as confident of my enneatype had I not come into this book already having taken a test and had it verified several times through additional research.

I was introduced to the Enneagram several years ago by a friend. I was initially slightly sceptical until I took the test and read about my personality type and saw how eerily accurate it was.

This book provides an excellent introduction to the Enneagram and the different personality types whilst also being of use to those who are more familiar with the tools involved. It is beautifully presented with excellent graphics and is easy to follow and understand.

I particularly enjoyed the sections relating to loving and understanding those around you and how they perceive certain situations as well as the sections on self care and healthy practices.

A very useful and insightful book. I would highly recommend.

I am and have been for a long time a huge fan of the "personality type" genre of books and learning devices. I love when I can learn more about myself and how I relate to others who are alike and different from me.

I have read a few books about Enneagram and by far this one has become a favorite of mine. The way they lay out how they will describe each type and the detail on each type is just outstanding. I love that within each type they start with a generalization about the personality behind the type and then show positives and negatives and then the things that each type should do for self care. This for me was of course interesting to read about my type, but was even more enjoyable for the types that are different from me. I almost appreciated the chapters that I didn't define as myself more than the ones that hit close to home!

I would recommend taking an enneagram test before reading this book, so you know your type and you can read all the chapters to see how you relate to each type, but really find the details about your own type.

What's Your Enneatype? An Essential Guide to the Enneagram is book that describes the Enneagram types in detail in a very easy-to-understand way. It's sectioned out very well and it's straightforward.
While I'm not the biggest fan in the Enneagram typing myself, I found the book informative and interesting - it can give a good perspective on how others might be feeling and how to manage your relationships better.

Thank you to netgalley for this advance review copy. (For reference I read this during Covid 19 lockdown)

This book would be great for new people to the enneagram. I thought it was ok because their wasn’t lots of new information to me. I did love the colour and diagrams of the book a lot. Favourite part was the pie chart self care ideas for each of the types.

I've always been curious about enneagram types and this book gave clear descriptions of each of the nine types. It was fascinating to learn about each type and see myself, friends, and family members reflected in the dominant personality characteristics. This guide is a great beginning guide that is easy to understand and reflect on your individual type, if you are so inclined. I also like that the book's authors promote empathy throughout, so that one is empathizing with WHY someone reacts to situations in specific ways, rather than judging them for it.

I love the Enneagram and the way that it helps us understand ourselves and others better. This book does an excellent job introducing folks to the Enneagram overall and it visually, clearly lays everything out. The graphics in this are absolutely terrific and crisp. The book also talks about healthy practices, ripple effects, lies, how to love each type, and many other practical applications and knowledge points. I teach the Enneagram to high schoolers and I anticipate that I will be purchasing a copy of this for myself so I can use it for next year. I'd recommend this book both for those just diving in as well as for those who have more knowledge about the Enneagram already.
