When you are perfect for each other but oh, so different...

Super cute graphic novel involving snippets of the life between a vampire and a werewolf. Almost every page with bring a smile if not a chuckle with its humor and wit. The jokes are fun, dark, and poke fun and has cute graphics.

I absorbed this book when looking for a break and enjoyed the snippets/glances into their life in modern society while being paranormal creatures.

Super cute, super fun and a great read!

Thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was so cute! Such a hilarious and whimsical take on a vampire-werewolf relationship. Really makes you believe there's someone for everyone 🥰.

Sarah Anderson's illustrations are always magnificent and some of these were just so fierce!

Elsie and Jimmy's relationship is so real, apart from the fact that they are a vampire and werewolf couple, and so adorable.

This comic gives a look into the lives of Elsie and Jimmy as their relationship progresses. These are snippets and don't necessarily flow as in a book which is not a negative aspect, just one I thought I'll mention.

If you are in a slump or just want a cute and quirky comic, pick this up for "awww's" and laughs!

Such a fun and original little collection. I laughed so many times while reading this. I loved the subversion of some of the classic vampire and werewolf tropes as well as the romance between the two characters. They had such a sweet and funny dynamic and I loved every page. A genuinely delightful read. I've loved Sarah's comics for years but this was a real evolution of her style that was just so well done and well-executed. I will definitely go back for a reread. I loved it so much.

Stop me if you’ve heard this before. A vampire and a werewolf meet, fall in love, and have to learn how to be together despite their differences. It’s a story so common nowadays that it’s practically trite. And yet Sarah Andersen of Sarah’s Scribbles fame has created a pleasing romantic comic with that very premise.

Elsie (vampire) and her new love Jimmy (werewolf) meet and hit it off right away. After all, “it’s not easy being a monster.” And, indeed, their road to happiness is not completely smooth, but the moments Andersen chooses to share with readers are well-chosen and often understated, and yet packed full of narrative and meaning. The importance of communication and compromise are clear here without ever becoming depressing or belaboring points, which is nice to see.

Something that pleased me immensely about this story is that Elsie and Jimmy are not self-loathing, even though they’ll call themselves monsters. The violence inherent in both their kinds is something they have in common, and so they offer each other support when those moments arise, rather than shame and judgment. Whether it’s Elsie’s list of people she’s killed or Jimmy’s potential for danger when he’s a wolf, they accept those parts of each other and even laugh about them together.

Really, this is just a tremendously sweet and funny comic about two inhuman beings whose love for each other makes them more human, but no less themselves, and it’s a great read. I definitely recommend it.

Overall this is a cute light hearted graphic novel. It doesn’t really have much of a cohesive story and is rather just one shots of how a vampire/werewolf relationship would be. But I thought overall it was pretty light hearted, comical, and overall a feel good graphic novel

I am subscribed to Sarah Scribbles on Webtoon and this definitely is different from her usual illustrations. Quick read, humorous dialogues between vampire-werewolf couple and it will be quite relatable if you know the cliches from books and movies. Sarah puts it all in a cute and romantic story that has some pretty good comebacks that made me laugh. So totally worth checking it out!

This was fun. The vignettes were well chosen, putting the mundanity of life and relationships in the crosshairs of the 'what if' between a werewolf and a vampire. There’s some pretty good human relationship advice too, let people be themselves. The quirky humour was laugh out loud funny at times too and there were many endearing moments, right in the midst of 'monster' life and love.

Thank you NetGalley and the author/publisher for access to this book.

I’ve been a fan of Sarah’s Scribbles for years now, so when I saw this graphic novel on NetGalley, I knew I had to read it. I may be a little biased, but it does not disappoint. A sweet little read that you can devour quickly and absolutely adore. It’s the story of a vampire and werewolf finding love through their shared otherness. I feel like, to say much else would be to take away for the fun of reading it.

If you like Sarahs’s Scribbles and are intrigued by this love story, than this graphic novel is written just got you. Even if you don’t, it’s a short little morsel of cuteness that you should still give a try.

an aesthetically pleasing and adorable series of vignettes that give you a glimpse into the romance between a vampire and a werewolf.

i have followed sarah andersen’s cartoony “sarah’s scribbles” comic for several years now, and it is nice to see some of her more illustrative work finally published. (i am aware she collaborated with andy weir (of “the martian” fame) on “cheshire crossing,” but i haven’t yet found a copy to read.)

though it has no real through written story or much depth, “fangs” doesn’t need either. much like philippa rice’s “soppy,” the charm lies in the tender moments between the couple. (unlike “soppy,” which centers around a human couple, “fangs”’s charm is bolstered by clever references to vampiric and lycanthropic lore.)

altogether a sweet treat for ghouls and gals alike!

thank you to netgalley and andrews mcmeel publishing for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

I've been a fan of Sarah Andersen since she first published Adulthood is a Myth. 'Fangs' has the same snarky humor as Sarah's Scribbles, but more adult. The art style was different than what I was accustomed to, but it grew on me. Jimmy, a werewolf, and Elsie, a vampire, meet at a bar and they hit it off. 'Fangs' documents everyday moments between Jimmy and Elsie with a twist. Stereotypical tropes of vampirism and werewolf curses are the butt of each joke. All 115 pages made me smile and hoot. I loved it.

I have always been a fan of Sarah Andersen, so when I saw Fangs was up on NetGalley, I knew I needed to read it. This graphic novel was incredibly cute, and I loved seeing Sarah's style change and evolve in a new direction.

I loved what Sarah did with these comic panels. Each one was well-drawn, and many of them made me smile. I've always loved vampires and werewolves, so it was fun to experience them in this cute bite-size way. I loved the puns, the jokes, and the dark humor in this book. I loved seeing the relationship evolve between Elsie and Jimmy. I hope that we get to see more snippets in their lives in the future.

This was so cute! Read it in one sitting. I’ve loved Sarah Andersen’s other books and this was no exception. The book was funny and I really enjoyed it.

Having been a fan of Sarah's for years, I was really excited to sink my teeth into this book. Pun intended. I really enjoy the light, pun-filled humor. It was a quick and pleasant read for anyone who's a fan or just likes vampires and werewolves.

As far as the content goes, it was a bit disappointing. I had been expecting a continuous storyline and while time jumps are fine, it was a bit all over the place. I think it could have served from better organization of the order and maybe a few comics that continued a running theme or joke. The jokes themselves were a bit cheesy and what you would expect, which some of the werewolf jokes even being likened to a dog.

The art was less aesthetically pleasing than Sarah's Scribbles, but fitting the horror theme f the comic much better. It was nice to see her branching out her style to create something that felt independent of the work she's know for on the internet.

All-in-all, a pleasant breezy read.

"Fangs", by Sarah Anderson is a cute, short graphic novel about a vampire dating a werewolf. There is no actual plot, as the graphic novel is a collection of vignettes from the couple's dating life. It was sweet and cheesy, full of humorous moments that made me smile. The illustrations were also very cute.

If you are a fan of humor graphic novels and you like your supernatural on the cute side, I would definitely recommend this one for you. However, if you like your vampires and werewolves gory and bloodthirsty, best stay away.

I've been a fan of the online version of this for a while and this lived up to that! I think it was adorable and fun and poignant at times! You never think you have much in common with a vampire until you read about the life of a very relatable one.

Thank you netgalley for approving me for this arc! I enjoyed this graphic novel so much. It had me laughing and awing and what the characters would do and say to each other. The artwork went really well with the story I loved the details. This was such a cute, easy, and pun filled read it made me want to read more to see what Elsie and Jimmy will be doing next.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for giving me a free copy of this graphic novel in exchange for an honest review!

This graphic novel is a love story between a vampire and werewolf which initially started as a webcomic series. Each page features a different scenario and its own mini-story within the larger story. It reminds me of the type of comics seen in newspapers where each week is a different "story" but it features the same characters. That is the main reason why I feel Fangs does not work in book form. In total, the whole 115 pages took me five minutes to read, so it was almost too fast to be enjoyable. Weekly installments definitely fit this style of writing better. The art style is cute, and it is a light-hearted, comedic read, but I was expecting something with a more linear storyline than just seeing snip bits of their lives.

Overall, it was okay but not something that I enjoyed. I would give it 1.5 stars. If you do pick it up, do not read the whole novel all in one sitting. Instead, read a few pages here and there to increase the enjoyment level.

Title: Fangs

A comic that shows the love between Elise, a vampire and Jimmy a werewolf. Black, white and grey are the only colours used to illustrate this tender relationship. From first date to cohabiting couple you are sure to get all the feels. We get to see all the little things they give up for each other or how they have to adapt their lives but there are some funny one-liners to be found. And even a laugh at Twilight the YA series

This comic does not just show the hypothetical world of a couple who are not human but also shows the social restraints on people who's active life is at night, for instance health workers and other night workers. It does give hope that just because two people have different social lives doesn't mean they can not be a good couple. .

I enjoined this comic so much, it had me laughing at all the dark humor. Thought personally I had a problem with page 97. I loved the art and have not rooted for a comic couple like this since Heartstopper. I think if there was a Fangs 2 I would have to read it.
