Thank you so much to net galley and the punk for sending me a copy of this book! This was such an interesting story and I absolutely fell in love with this. I definitely wanna read more of this author!

Interesting, well-written thriller/mystery about a strange and disturbing series of events that happened in a small Arizona town in the 1960's and is beginning to happen again in 2020 among the descendants of the town.

Good character development and well paced, until about the last 1/4 where I started wising it would wrap up as the mystery was pretty well revealed by then. But that's just me.

Good descriptions of some genuinely creepy moments.

I received a free ARC. I am leaving my honest review.

One night in 1960, red hail falls from the sky over a small town. Afterward, the townspeople experience a peculiar "plague." This plague resurfaces in 2020. The book alternates between 1960 and 2020.

This was a very well written dark fantasy mystery. The characters are compelling and the plot sustained my interest throughout the book.

The author touches on and integrates complicated issues of racism, religion and sexuality.

I will definitely look for the author's other books
