I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley.

This is a beautiful aesthetically pleasing book about the art of woodburning (Pyrography).

The book starts off with safety information and equipment and materials you will need to complete the projects in the book. It tells you about different types of woods and gives tips and steps throughout the book.

Each project has easy to follow information and steps as well as photographs of the steps too.

I really want to give Pyrography a try and this book has given me lots of understanding and ideas as well as knowledge on how to do it and how to stay safe aswell.

I will be making a "Fruity Cutting Board".

I did a little wood burning at camp when I was around 13 and haven't touched in since. It has always been something that i wanted to try again but didn't know where to start. This book lays out everything you need beautifully. This makes the entire project easy to really dive into. This would be a perfect book for any DIY'r that hasn't gotten into wood burning yet.

I received this free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a very readable, well-illustrated book that covers general techniques of wood burning, provides example projects (with clear step-by-step instructions), and really walks the reader through the process from choosing equipment to understanding the options for adding color and various finishes. The example projects provide a taste of the broad range of artistic expression possible with pyrography, including many that never would have occurred to me--from cork trivets to leather to canvas.

Unlike many how-to books I've encountered on various crafts, this one offers snippets of advice from a variety of people who work in this medium in addition to the main author--which is a great strength. For those inclined to delve deeper online, many of these advice snippets include the social media handle of the contributor.

As I am very much a novice pyrographer, I cannot speak directly to what the book would offer someone with more experience--but from my perspective, it's a great introduction to a craft I had tried years ago but had not touched in years. It makes me want to get some wood and bring out my supplies and start trying things. I'm excited to try it out!

A great guide to wood burning. It has the prerequisite tools section at the front but doesn't linger too long. instead, it has some fantastic introductory ideas for burning projects as well as different ways to make your project pop. I especially liked the idea of adding paint to your project.
It was easily readable and beautifully illustrated.

Giving this book 4 wonderful stars!!

I honestly clicked on this book because I'm always looking for new ways to be creative.
I was not disappointed. The narrative is really easy to follow and has wonderful pictures to guide you along. The book is about wood burning (pyrography) and covers everything from types of woods and other wood-burning materials you'll need, to the tools you will need to complete the job. It's interesting for the simple fact that it is still an art form but probably something you would never think of doing. I've added a wood-burning kit to my Amazon cart after reading this because I really want to try. I can totally see myself and my artistic kiddo doing tons of crafts to fill these summer months.
I definitely recommend this book. The instructions are clear and precise to get you started and the materials are easily accessible, which validates the book's usefulness.

Yep, I'm totally intimidated (and a dash determined). I had been thinking of learning the art of wood burning/pyrography, however put it on hold with the other multitude of projects I need to finish. After getting soldering out of the way, I returned to my interest and this book feeds into it for sure. While I enjoyed the beautiful photos and projects, my brain kind of stuck on 'Safety'. It makes me a bit nervous since I tend to...um...not follow directions super well when it comes to crafting (or cooking). However, this hadn't dampened my interest and The Wood Burn Book is really making me lean towards accepting the challenge of following instructions and not burning down my workspace. I will carefully follow directions as noted in this book #TheWoodBurnBook #NetGalley

I like that this is made for women, the designs would be great on cutting boards and picture frames. It shows how to safely but doesn’t manplain it.

A great instructional craft book for wood burning. I'd seen wood burn art, but never really considered making it. 'The Wood Burn Book' gives a detailed overview from needed materials, methods, and a variety of projects from simple to ornate. It even explains methods for burn art using other materials like leather and canvas. There are tons of beautiful pictures throughout that will help guide artists.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC.
