I tried, I really did, but I could not get into this one. Yes, it has some triggers, but that’s not what bothered me about this one. Maybe the beginning seemed to sudden. Maybe. I’m not sure. Even skipping through this book couldn’t capture my attention.

This is a story that had so much going for it a deeply emotional story of not only PTSD in the military but also mental illness after the loss of a partner and it handled that quite well but at other times it felt disjointed in the relationship between Justin and Rose They are so hot and cold that it fair made my head spin. After saying that over all I really enjoyed the story and would read more by this author

3 1/2 Stars!

The start of the book is good and holds lots of promise, but then it just starts to repeat itself with Rose and Justin running hot and cold. Then the ending pulls you in a whole different direction, but makes me want to read the conclusion. How much heart break can two people go through. If Justin didn’t have bad luck, he’d have no luck at all.

Rose’s husband was in the military and lost his life overseas. He left behind a wife and two small kids ... one he never met. Rose can’t move on and she hears voices in her head telling her that she should have been the parent to die. Justin has his own demons and only starts to live again when he meets Rose. He finally has something to live for, but he doesn’t believe he has the right to be happy.
