He's Not Just Teasing is the story about how Malcolm learns the difference between friendly teasing and bullying. Malcolm is a high energy kid which puts him in the spotlight in the classroom. A classmate repeatedly makes mean remarks and tries to exclude Malcolm. The story does a nice job illustrating the need to seek help in bullying situations. I wish Malcolm had included school staff in his situation. Suzanne Beaky created wonderful, diverse illustrations for this book. Thanks Boys Town Press and NetGalley for the ARC of this title.

This is a great book on the effects of teasing and bullying. In the book we deal with two young boys who are classmates. One of the classmate has a problem with clumsiness and the other continually makes fun of him fort His other friends try to stick up for him but he continues on. Eventually he goes to his mom about it and she talks to him about it and tells him to stand up for himself. they boy does.. Eventually the boys even though they don't become friends the teasing stops.

This is a great book for anyone that works with children to use as an example of the differences between teasing and bullying. There is such a fine line between the two and kids get confused. The author laid out the facts in an educational way while also writing a story that keeps children engaged.

He's Not Just Teasing by Jennifer Licate

He's Not Just Teasing by Jennifer Licate is a book for young readers. The illustrations are a compliment to story readers can relate to and will lead to many discussions about life as a school-age child. He's Not Just Teasing is a book dealing with bullying and mean-spirited children in school and one's community.
This book is a useful tool for parents and educators to bring about meaningful discussions about cruelty and how to handle bullies in a non-aggressive way.

I enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to adults and children.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

This is a fantastic book for children about recognising the difference between someone having a laugh and teasing you and someone who is being malicious and actually bullying you.

This book was very clear to understand and a great resource for children to try to resolve an issue with someone potentially bullying them before going yo a grown up. The only thing this book needed to contain was that point - that if things don't resolve then going to a grown up or confiding in friends is a necessary step to resolving the problem.

Wow! What an amazing book! A quick and easy read that packs a big punch! This book is should be mandatory reading for all elementary school kids. I will be recommending this book to every teacher and parent that walks in the store. I am amazed how this tackles so many aspects of bullying, from the boy being bullied, to his friends reactions, his feelings after everything happens, without ever sounding preachy, condescending or dismissive. Thank you so much for this digital arc. I am so in love with this book!

I really enjoyed the way this was written. I thought the language was appropriate and easy to read without being too childish. I thought the book was beautifully illustrated. I like that this book uses the vocabulary that we have come to teach when discussing the anti-bullying mentality. As a school counselor, I will definitely recommend this as a book to add to our curriculum. I liked how the scenario played out and helped to instill empathy and compassion. Thank you so much for the approval. I absolutely loved it.

He's not just teasing is a great book to help kids learn the difference between teasing and bullying. And more importantly to teach kids to stand up for your friends against bullying. The only thing I didn't like about this book was that it should have been obvious to the teacher that bullying was happening during lessons, but she never seemed to acknowledge it.
