The Cul-de-Sac War had a fun premise. An enjoyable read if you're looking for something easy a lighthearted.

I love this author’s writing style. I thought the opening chapter where Chip and Bree first met was humorous and one of the best “meet cute” scenes I’ve read in a Christian contemporary romance. There were several times during this story that had me laughing and wondering what was going to happen next. I felt the story went a little bit too over the top at one point; and also felt that for a Christian romance, the faith aspect was barely mentioned. But other than those two things, I enjoyed the story and will be looking forward to reading more from this author.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

This was an amusing story about a couple of misunderstandings escalating and the craziness that ensues. It's funny how you can be so wrong about a person and Chip ended up being a really good guy. It was so sweet how he took care of their elderly neighbor and sometimes put others first even at great inconvenience to himself. He also was pretty wise about some things but not so much about others. The situation with his dog was hilarious! There were some sweet romantic moments and some 'I can't believe they just did that' moments. Chip goes to church, has a Bible and hinted at believing there's a heaven but there's not a mention of what Bree believes. It bothered me that they don't talk more about her beliefs and that he did lie to try to get a job. Both Chip and Bree have some stressful family situations to deal with, along with the work stress, but the story overall is light and fun. I also liked that Cassie pops in for an update, Ferguson's heroine in her first book. I would recommend if you like humorous romance.

I received a kindle copy of this book free from Netgalley. I was not reimbursed for this review. All opinions are my own.

Parts of this story were really sweet whereas other parts didn't work for me. I enjoyed the banter between the two MCs bit failed to feel the chemistry I crave as a reader of romance.

The Cul-de-Sac War is another fun read by Melissa Ferguson. I enjoyed it and am giving it three and a half stars.

Fun, quirky and high spirited. Also a little loosely framed. St Judes doesn’t have a facility in Knoxville ( it’s Memphis). I wanted more background on Anna and Evie, and Bree’s parents, but the book skipped over some stuff. Also Relationship between Chip and his parents. But this was a fun read that won me over with the little green faced fairy tap dancing her way into the chorus!!

I loved Melissa Ferguson’s debut novel, The Dating Charade. It had me laughing out loud, and often. I was so looking forward to reading Bree’s story. The premise did concern me because I am not a fan of hate to love romances. I was also concerned about both main characters trying to outprank each other. The pranks did go on way too long and took away from the story. I do like Ms. Ferguson’s writing style and sense of humor so I’m looking forward to her next story.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Really loved this story. I was sucked in from page one. I would have to read more from this author. Really liked it from beginning to end

I loved one of the very first scenes in the book, the infamous duct tape scene. It gave me high hopes that the rest of the book would be spectacular. But it never quite got there. Maybe it was the dog. By the end of the book, I wanted to shoot it. I kind of wanted to shoot Chip too, for laughing at her after she got hurt being flattened by the damned thing.

There were some great scenes and the writing was very good, it just didn't quite meet my expectations after that first 'meet cute'.

It’s my second book that I’ve read by the author and I’m glad I took the chance to read her again because I was remembered why I enjoyed the first one so much.
The setting and cast of characters is really interesting and entertaining, the mystery of so many moments and twists is well done and I enjoyed the resolution of it.
Beautiful written and great story.

Bree is struggling as an actress, with grief and with growing up in general despite being 34 years old. But, you would never know that because her happy go lucky exterior camouflages it all. However, she loses her cool when a handsome guy, Chip, moves in next door and disrupts her entire existence.
I liked the characters and appreciated their humor. I did feel like the story and the connection took too long to get going. But after the slow start the end was a satisfactory happily ever after.. This is an easy, sweet romance to lose yourself in.

A lighthearted and fast paced read, but the romance part wasn't really convincing to me until the last part of the book which is a shame I think seeing it's a romcom. The romance between these particular characters just wasn't doing it for me unfortunately. Despite that, it was still an entertaining read though and I'd definitely suggest picking it up if you're interested in it seeing not all readers experience a book the same. But to me, as a romance book, the romance part just wasn't doing it for me and therefore I can't really give it a higher rating, when rating it through my own reading experience. That said... Again: this doesn't mean it's not for you so if you're interested, I'd say to pick it up and make up your own mind about the story :)

A fun rom-com to add in between emotional and/or psychologically thrilling books!

I just adored this neighbors to rivals to enemies to friends slow burn love story. Chip is an ambitious contractor who buys a house across the street from Bree, a fairy on stage who can’t settle on one thing, person, or hobby because she just hasn’t quite found the thing to make her stop. Until Chip rescues her with a roll of well placed duct tape, that is. Bree falls for him hard, then realizes this charming knight in a tool belt is already taken—and he’s her new neighbor. I loved the back and forth of their antics, I loved how the story turned more serious at just the right moment. Honestly, I would have liked a little more actual romance but the timing is everything. I also was trying to figure out Chip’s name but it just doesn’t fit his family scheme in the slightest, and it really seemed to me a juvenile reminder that he was the youngest son in his family. The epilogue was both satisfying and confusing, but it was a lovely way to bring everything full circle.

A very cute romcom about neighbors Bree and Chip, who keep trying to one-up each other with the pranks they play on the other. Along the way, they start to fall for each other, but not before Bree pulls one last epic prank that almost destroys their friendship.

Enemies to more is one of my favorite tropes, and romantic comedy is a favorite genre, so I was eager to read Melissa Ferguson’s second novel. I had a bit of difficulty getting into the story, but it might have been because I haven’t yet read her first novel yet, and I understand that there are some characters from it in this story. The story picked up for me in the last half when the characters showed some vulnerability and connection. Ferguson has a fun sense of humor, and there were some witty and hilarious moments that made me laugh out loud. I’ll be looking forward to more stories from this author. 3.5 stars

I tried to read this a few times but I just could not do anything more than skim it sadly. I think this is where myself and the author part ways as I just don't think we are a match, unfortunately. Thank you for that ARC!

The cover of this book caught my attention right away as it looked so cute! Bree (one side of the war) is part of the production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream." After a costume emergency, she is saved by hunky Chip- someone she has no idea will end up being her neighbor, nemesis, and love.

At times the antics between the two were laughable, and others series. My favorite of the supporting characters was Chip's dog Russell and his fascination with Bree. The descriptions here were on point!

I also liked how the author included the reality of both character's situations (girlfriend, financial issues, sickness, death) and I feel that it made the characters that much more real to the readers. If you're in for a light rom-com read, this is the book for you!

THE CUL-DE-SAC WAR is a cute rom-com that is engaging and laugh out loud funny (at times). I liked both characters at first, but then Bree turned into an over-the-top mean queen and I mostly hated her.

There is absolutely no sexual tension, the ending felt rushed, there are some soft swear words, the faith message was absent, and well...

If you love rom-com, you might love this book. It was more of a miss than a hit with me.

I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own.
