This story was cute. I think it's very obvious from the description and the cover that it's the book version of a Hallmark Christmas movie, and it very much lived up to that. The scenery was cozy and perfect, the chapters were all titled after Christmas songs, and there wasn't an over abundance of drama. It's the perfect book to curl up under a blanket wishing it was Christmas already. It'll get you in the holiday spirit.
Bailey was adorable. Obsessed with Christmas and determined to not let people ruin her Christmas cheer. I wish we'd learned a little more about some of the secondary characters and had more scenes building them up, but I understand that would've lengthened the book. Regardless, I do think it was necessary for Jacob to have a wee bit more chemistry with Bailey. On the one hand, I appreciate that their relationship was not forced and did feel organic getting to know you, but on Bailey's end, it kind of felt like "I'm desperate to get my Christmas kiss wish and now here's this boy who seems like he might check that off." She didn't even really have reason to have some of the semi-negative thoughts she had about him at the beginning.
The book was really cute and was going to a solid 4 stars until the end. The twist with Charlie was just a little too... much. It felt weird in the setting and story that had been created and then in turn ended up feeling like a cheap way to write the boy off. I think it would've felt more in line with the story if "Christmas magic" had been played up more throughout the book: snow falling at the perfect moment, bells ringing, etc. I suppose the random money that was found was supposed to go along with that, BUT it needed to be developed more. I lost respect for Bailey when she just spent the money she found because it was labeled "For You". There could've been a news story about someone dropping off envelopes around the city as a good Samaritan type thing. Instead it's a one off thing to simply satisfy the plot.
Overall, and I feel really bad that I think this, but I think this book needed a little bit more developmental editing. Small things here and there to really tie together the true "Hallmark Christmas movie" feeling.

A fun Christmas book for young adults during the holiday season! I think teens will enjoy the plot and characters in this story as well as the holiday theme throughout book.

Bailey makes a Christmas wish to find someone to kiss under the mistletoe at Christmastime this year. While working at a bookstore, she runs into a guy from school who could possibly like her, but she also meets a new British guy who she has never seen before, but is very attractive and has a great accent. Who will she choose? And how did she go from having no one to two guys?

There's a twist at the end of the story that I didn't really enjoy, but young adults probably would. There are lots of Christmas references to make you feel warm and cozy, many beautiful settings described and the feeling of winter and Christmas throughout the entire book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Children's for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book was exactly as I imagined, very much like a Hallmark movie. I binged it in two sittings since it was so short. I just really wanted a feel good book that would lift my spirits and in that aspect, this book did deliver. If you want a very simple romance full of atmospheric Christmas dates and cheer, you’ll love this book.

All the characters were very cliche, pretty underdeveloped, and the main character was honestly quite annoying at times if we’re being honest. Obviously, she’s still in high school, so I’m sure she was making petty decisions because she was naïve, but literary one part of the book she called for help and instead of thanking the person who helped her she yelled at said person for being late when it was her fault for doing things last minute, but yeah, this book is very much geared towards high school students who love a lot of fluff.

I will say, the one thing that really captured me about this book was the description of the Winter Wonderland that was created. The cozy bookshops, cafes, the beautiful white snow falling, all the cheesiness of the Holiday season was stuffed into this book and I wasn’t mad about it. This book brought a smile to my face and I have a fun reading experience with it.

Also, totally weird point, but the first few chapters, every character that was described was wearing a college hoodie or sweatshirt which I thought was kind of funny, but also weird? I was like is there no better way to describe someone, and also, there’s no way every single person is just wearing a college hoodie? It just didn’t make sense, but again, that didn’t really bug me, just thought it was quirky, lol.

This was such a fun holiday teen read. This book was focused on holiday spirit and finding love! I finished it in about two hours and loved the character development throughout the book!

This was an adorable read! I loved it! I loved Bailey's Christmas cheer and related to her so much! I was cheering for Jacob and Charlie and couldn't make up my mind on who I wanted her to end up with, so that ending was PERFECT!
So this book follows Bailey and she is a teenager volunteering at a bookstore who LOVES Christmas! Her one wish for Christmas is to be kissed underneath the mistletoe. Enter in Jacob and Charlie.
Jacob is someone that Bailey grew up going to school with but when he comes in to buy some books for his family he sees her in a different light, Charlie keeps saving Bailey from slipping on the ice or mysteriously being at the right place and time to help her with her car crashing on the slippery road.
Bailey went from no guy to juggling two. Even she doesn't know who will end up underneath the mistletoe with her.

To the reviewers that did not like the Hallmark-feel to this book, I feel like the description of the book all but gave away the Hallmark aspect. That is on you.

As for me, I love Hallmark movies around the Christmas season. They warm you up just as much as a mug of hot cocoa and a fireplace on a cold winter's day. I enjoyed some of the Hallmark factors in this book but there were also a couple of wrinkles that made it difficult to rate it higher. One is the relationship between Bailey and Jacob. (view spoiler) I love a good Hallmark Christmas moving with all the bells and whistles, but I think some of the Christmas magic in this story fell a little flat.

4 stars most of the year, but 5 for Christmas! Bailey is a high school junior who wants nothing more than to be kissed under the mistletoe this year. She works at a bookstore where she helps this hot boy from school and then she meets a gorgeous boy with a British accent! Which one will she choose? Perfect for fans of Hallmark Christmas movies and believers in the magic of Christmas.

I would like to thank Random House Children's Books for a free copy of this book for an honest review. This is a cute Christmas romance story. I give it a 4 out of 5 stars. The characters were well written and the setting was a winter wonderland. I really enjoyed this story. The only critique I have is I wanted more romance.

Heartwarming! Refreshing! A Hallmark movie in book format. I rooted for Bailey the whole time! A darling holiday read!

I'm not a huge fan of Hallmark holiday movies- they're too cheesy for me. This super sweet teen holiday romance is perfect for Hallmark holiday fans.

A few smallish things (1) the product placement in this book ridiculous and won't let the book age well (S'Well water bottle, Essie nail polish, Timberland boots, etc.) (2) The characters names and vague (sometimes) analogies to other holiday stories kept me trying to read between the lines more than reading the story. (3) Each of the chapters were named after a holiday song, and it was cute.

First of all: My digital copy of the book has the author listed as Christa Roberts while on NetGalley it says it is by Wendy Loggia. However, the description is the same so there's an error somewhere in there.

This is a slight story totally in keeping with its Hallmark movie inspiration right down to a touch of magic. I can picture Bailey smiling broadly throughout the story as she wraps herself in all that is Christmas while navigating her way between "problems" such as being too generous for her own good and working out if she is actually dating either of the boys she likes. I enjoyed the Easter eggs (seems like there should be another name for those in a Christmas book) of classic holiday movies and stories. And although one big secret seemed very obvious to me right from the start, I didn't foresee something else about Charlie's importance in Bailey's life. I didn't care for the fight right after Bailey's first kiss with Jacob. I think at that point in a relationship he would be eager to make her happy and wouldn't have been so defensive right off the bat so that didn't ring true to me and was a distraction to the glowy Christmas feeling I wanted.

This book made my heart so happy! Witty and warm, it made me long to crank up the Christmas tunes and rummage about for some cocoa! And the romance— the romance! I’ve swooned!

This book had potential to be cute, and I enjoyed the Christmas theme throughout. However, the writing and the characters really didn't mesh well for me. It was a little overdone and instead of being cute and lighthearted, it was just boring. An o.k. read but not a lot of fun overall.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!

What a refreshing Christmas read. This book was the perfect escape for me as I love all things Christmas. I love how it is young adult and I feel confident my students will love this story.

The protagonist Bailey is relatable and endearing. I loved how much she loved Christmas and her spirit. The chapters flew as the story line was addicting. It is a must read for students not only who love Christmas but want a good wholesome book. There is even a bit of Christmas magic in this story.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars and will be adding this to my classroom library. Thank you netgalley and publisher for the advanced read.

Totally adorable! This is a wonderful Christmas story for teens. Bailey, named for the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life”, is a totally believable teen going to parties, working at the bookstore and looking for a boyfriend! Just like the movie, a bit of magic happens!
