If you are a fan of Jerry Seinfeld you will love this book. In a time where new forms of entertainment are few and far between this book felt just a little like being at a live comedy show. I could hear Seinfeld telling every single bit in the book in his signature style.

(This review is from an ARC courtesy of NetGalley).
Jerry Seinfeld is a wonderful comedian and writer. This book is a collection of his thoughts and ideas, some of which have been shared before and some new ones. Listening to him perform live is very enjoyable. However, I think this book would best to be read in small doses (picture Jerry's comedy 'bits' at the beginning and end of 'Seinfeld.") Reading one after another seemed like it was too much at once. If you're looking for a conversation piece or book to digest in small doses, this book would be great.

Thought I already knew all of Jerry’s great lines. I was pleasantly surprised that there was so much more! Even Corona! Simple thoughts we’ve all had but never expressed so well Thanks, Jerry, I needed this.

It's good, but it's not anything I haven't already heard. It's a print version of all of his most famous bits as a stand up comedian. So, good, but nothing new.

Yada, yada, yada, review of the Seinfeld book. Not that there's anything wrong with this book. This is a book reviewicus for the rest of us. This is a book worth double dipping into, so sit back, say Serenity now, and get a copy of Seinfeld's memoir that is part nostalgic trip through his greatest hits, part obscure delights.
This book is real, and it's spectacular. Read this book, or there'll be no soup for you!

“Seinfeld” is one of my all-time favorite television shows and I have watched every episode multiple times. I’ve never seen Jerry Seinfeld’s stand-up act, however, so I was very interested in reading this book. It consists of the comedian’s favorite material, organized by decade. Each section has a brief introduction by Jerry setting up the material that follows. The 70s through the 90s sections include some new gems such as the one about being afraid to adjust the thermostat and some old favorites of his that I enjoy including why men flip tv channels, people obeying the “Dry clean only” label, and spoiling your appetite. The newer material includes Seinfeld’s take on weddings, marriage, parenting, and other topics. I especially liked the bits about texting. Of course I didn’t love every joke, but there is a wide variety of material that kept me entertained throughout the book.

If you’re a fan of the television show or Jerry Seinfeld’s stand-up act, you will enjoy the book. I could hear Jerry’s voice as I read it, I just wish I could have pictured his gestures and facial expressions since they add so much to his jokes. I loved the book and recommend it to all Seinfeld fans - just be prepared to laugh out loud while reading it.

I received this ebook from NetGalley through the courtesy of Simon & Schuster. An advance copy was provided to me at no cost, but my review is voluntary and unbiased.

As an age contemporary I enjoyed his progress of someone who was following his dream.
I literally was able to hear his voice as I read many of the bits. Many of them did wind up on his television show.
I found it interesting how his bits mirrored his own life cycle events, ie graduating college to having his own marriage and family
Quite enjoyable and different than the usual biography

This is not a difficult book to sell. If you like the TV show, "Seinfeld," you are also going to like this book. In fact, if you've watched the show's run, you've probably seen a few of these jokes performed in the stand-up interludes. Partly a memoir, the meat of this book is a comprehensive reprint of Mr. Seinfeld's material, separated chronologically by decade. It's as if he is work-shopping his bits before our eyes, and it is great stuff. While I read the text version, I suspect the audio is the preferred method with this one, as the author does the reading (performing?) himself. If nothing else, the audio would almost function as a comedy album. I will probably go back and listen to it again after it's released for this very reason. You probably already know if you are going to read and enjoy this book. Highly recommended for fans of comedy and Jerry Seinfeld.

I have been a fan of Jerry Seinfeld for many years. His television show is one of the best comedies of all time.
His stand up comedy and insights always make me laugh. Even today, Jerry still uses a legal pad to take notes . Seinfeld writes. “So I have everything I thought was worth saving from forty-five years of hacking away at this for all I was worth.” He has selected many of his favorite material, easily organized by decade. Jerry Seinfeld is a master of the everyday observation. Besides this great book, check out his new Netflix special. You will not be disappointed. He is truly one of the greatest comic minds of this generation.

Oh this book was so lovely. It was like I was in the audience at one of his shows. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys Seinfeld's work, or even those who like comedy! Such a good read.

Seinfeld doesn’t need my endorsement, but he has it. I was admittedly afraid that a book by such a celebrity would be self-congratulatory or bloviatory, which is more common than not. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The book presents Seinfeld’s actual jokes from various periods of his life prefaced with anecdotes that actually add to the humor and context.

I felt like I was sitting in the audience in a small intimate comedy club. As anticipated, sharply funny and well written. A must for Jerry Seinfeld fans!

This book makes you feel that you are in the audience of Jerry Seinfield's comic show or watching him sit and talk with someone over a cup of coffee. I laughed out loud so many times while reading this book. I even shared more funny parts out loud than my husband probably wanted me to. If you like Jerry Seinfield, this book is for you. If you need a laugh to get away from the mundane of life, this book will do that for you and more.

I remember Seinfeld's first book very fondly and when I saw this book, I quickly put in a request for it. Nothing is better than Seinfeld. It is 90% a book of hit comedic bits broken up by decade. There were a few pages at the beginning of each chapter introducing that decade. For me that was the best stuff and I wish he put a bit more of that in the book. I would happily read an entire book like that. He still has "it" and the bits are very funny and you can recall a few that made the show. The newer ones were funny as well as he touches on coronavirus. A must read for any closer talker.
Thank you Netgalley, Jerry Seinfeld and Simon & Schuster for the DRC for my honest review.

This is a book full of transcripts of Seinfeld's stand-up comedy over the last 5 decades.  Each section is broken up by decade.  I appreciated seeing the evolution of Seinfeld's comedy from the 70's to today.  The last few transcripts include corona virus jokes.  Very enjoyable book, highly recommended.

Jerry Seinfeld's yellow legal pad notes of all his jokes and bits sorted by decade. What a neat book! I ended up not being able to read this at night while my husband was trying to sleep because I kept laughing out loud and saying, "Listen to this one." Seinfeld is clearly the real deal when it comes to comics. Even though I've never seen his stand up or watched the show, this book is still hilarious and worth the time.

Seinfeld's "greatest hits" from the beginning through the present day are transcribed and put into context here. Yes, you've heard or seen a lot of this content before. I have, too... but that didn't stop me from laughing out loud throughout reading it.

What I found most interesting was Seinfeld's discussion about where he found himself after the TV show went away. It took some focus and effort for him to slide back into the role of touring comic. It's heartening to learn that even the titans among us have moments of self-doubt and uncertainty.

Plain and simple- if you like Jerry Seinfeld, you are going to like this book. I appreciated the time is spanned, and I was laughing out loud during multiple chapters.

Excellent light read from one of my favorite people! This book is hundreds and hundreds of quips, bits, shorts from Jerry's decades as a comedian. It's organized by decade and a perfect read a few pages at a time. You will recognize some of these if you have seen him live or read his other book but there is so much material in here I am really astounded at how many bits he has. As always, everything is clean comedy which I appreciate!
