I love being able to come back to this world. Johansen's characters are so complex and so strong. I love this world and everything about these books.

I'm delighted to report that this 100% works as a stand-alone. If you've read the books that follow (chronologically speaking) you'll recognize some old friends, of course, but I remember very little of the trilogy and still found this deeply satisfying.
