Not my favorite but not the worst. This book didnt stand out to me and sadly with thrillers it has to be AMAZING or it falls into the void. I wanted this to be good because Belfast is such an interesting setting.

A story about domestic abuse and how utterly easy it is prey on the weak and vulnerable. I didn't like the alternating accounts of almost all of the characters. It made me lose sight of the story. I did enjoy the thrill and could very much relate with Julia.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Darkstroke for this free digital ARC. This review is made of my own accord with no monetary compensation whatsoever from names mentioned above and/or the owners of this ARC.

honestly, this was a pretty good book. i really liked the whole wife went missing, especially because it was in many different POVs, so we kind of got to see what the cops were doing, what Hannah was doing, and then Julia and Kate, i honestly thought it was pretty cool to see all of that. but, i mean i do wish there was more substance to the plot, since i feel like there was a lot of stuff going on, but it was pretty good, but with the 20 different POVs it kind of just made everything be kind of small. and i lowkey wish that we didn't figure out who did it and where hannah was 50% into the book. McClelland really could have dragged it out, but it just like feel short and it wasn't good. but, the writing was decent, and i kind of liked it in the start, but it just kind of fell off cliff when everything came out. but, it was still pretty good.

Wow! I absolutely loved this delicious, dark tale! Yes, it’s a story that’s been done a bunch, but not this way! Completely unique! Full of thrills, chills, twists and turns, and shocks! Well written, with suburb character development! I cannot wait for more by this author, as I guarantee if any are as good as this, I will devour it! Highly, highly recommend this completely unputdownable thrill ride! Word of advise, DO NOT START BEFORE BED, even better clear schedule prior to starting!

Will make sure to buzz around platforms and use lower amazon reviewer number on release date!

This is a great read. I felt as if I couldn't put this down as I needed to know how this ended. We get several points of view in this story which I really enjoyed although sometimes I find it slightly overwhelming, but I was able to follow the story and not miss any vital details. Could 100% see this being turned into a series as there is so much detail and lots of detail from different people.

Kyles wife Hannah goes missing. The police investigate and he starts a campaign to look for her. Julia a local helping in the search and Detective Kerry Lawlor also gives their view.

Love how this book left me with so many questions- I'm sorry I love a book that leaves you questioning everything when you've finished the book (I know people dont). Really great book! I’m looking forward to reading more from this author!

Under Your Skin was an addictive read and one which didn't take me long to get through. Its first pages did a brilliant job of grabbing my attention but not all books are able to keep the reader reading following such a start to the story. It's told from different perspectives which I really enjoy in books.

The key point of the story is domestic abuse which is uncomfortable to read but Rose has done a great job with Under Your Skin. At first you really feel sorry for Kyle but once the story unfolds with the help of what's happened in the past, you begin to understand who Kyle really is.

I thought the plot was really clever. I won't say exactly why because this would ruin the story but it's one well worth reading!

3 Stars!

Warning: Unpopular opinion time! Allow me to start off by saying that I really did like this story. I loved the multiple person narrative and the time hopping and I found the story to be extremely well written.

Kyle reports his wife, Hannah missing. The story jumps back in time and is told in alternating perspectives. Hannah tells you how Kyle changed and how he starts being verbally abusive. The story comes back to the present and introduces you to Julia, who volunteered to help on a search for Hannah. Julia falls into Kyle's web and they begin seeing each other. I will stop here, as to not divulge too much.

While reading this, I couldn't help but think of Gone Girl and The Last Mrs. Parrish and I kept waiting for there to be a delightful twist.....something.......ANYTHING.....unfortunately, I was disappointed to find that there wasn't one.

A special thank you to NetGalley, Darkstroke, and Rose McClelland for providing me with a reader copy.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC of Under Your Skin by Rose McClelland.

When Kyle's wife Hannah goes missing, the whole town is rocked. Was she abducted? Is this Kyle's fault? Told through multiple narrators, the search for Hannah, and all the events that led to her disappearance are told.

This was a surprisingly quick and gentle read, which was unique for a novel that has suspense-like themes. I always enjoy a book with multiple narratives, and I felt like the author did a good job giving each voice their own personality. The twists and turns were definitely more subtle and even a bit anti-climatic, but that's not to say that I didn't enjoy it.

DI Simon Peters and DS Kerry Lawlor are answering a husband's call about his wife, who seems to be missing.

After talking to the husband, her work colleagues, friends, etc,, they find no clues. No one seems to know where she is, who would have abducted her. Someone has to know something. Her husband, perhaps, since he is automatically primary suspect?

Residents gather together to form searches, looking for anything that might give them some clues. Julia Matthews meets the husband and a friendship is quick to form. And then it becomes more than friendship. Would a grieving husband grow this attached to another woman so soon?

The longer Julia is involved, the more she grows to suspect that something isn't quite right.

The book is narrated by several characters .... the missing wife who wakes in a basement and tells about her life with her husband .... a work colleague who professes to know nothing, but does he? .... the police .... the husband's version of his life with his wife ... and the husband's new girlfriend.

The first part of the book was good .. suspenseful, mysterious. But then there are other parts that seem to have no bearing on the case. The female detective fantasizing about her married superior.... the work colleague and his girlfriend who won't agree to marry him .... seems like some things were just thrown in willy-nilly.

The summary of Under Your Skin set it up to be a promising mystery. Unfortunately, I figured it out about 1/3 of the way through, and the confirming reveal was about halfway through. I kept reading, hoping for a twist that would throw off everything I guessed, but it just didn't happen. Ultimately, I was left feeling frustrated and disappointed. Since this was a relatively short book for the genre, I would have loved if the author developed the story a little more and planted a few twists to make a better payout at the end.

A rollercoaster of a thriller - I honestly couldn't put it down!

"Under Your Skin" keeps you guessing about a missing woman - and uses some great techniques and characters to keep you guessing.

The book also artfully raises questions about how well you really know the people around you; and the terrible secrets they might be living with.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me the chance to enjoy this thriller!

This book was just "meh". The plot is extremely predictable; I kept waiting for some twist that I didn't see coming, but sadly, that never happened. I was also quite frustrated by the repetition of certain phrases throughout the book. As an author, if you're going to say the same thing multiple times, at least do so using different words. The use of the same descriptive language was so redundant that I thought Rose McClelland was trying to cleverly leave some type of clue that would ultimately pull everything together in the end, but NOPE!

When Kyle’s wife Hannah goes missing, the whole town is out in force to try to find her. One person knows where she is. One person is keeping a secret.

Rose is quite the writer!
This thriller has been one of the best books I've read in a while!
Had me hooked at the very beginning!
The plot of this story was very well thought of.

Thank you very, very much to Rose Mclelland, DarkStroke, and Netgalley from an ARC of "Under Your Skin" in exchange for an honest review.*

Under your Skin is the kind of thriller that grabs you from the very beginning and teases you with twists and turns throughout the novel up to the very end.

Hannah is trapped in her marriage to Kyle. She falls in love with him as a coworker and they marry. But the honeymoon is over as soon as it starts. He is controlling, abusive and narcissistic. Despite her many attempts to escape her marriage, he always finds her.

Julia meets Kyle after Hannah disappears. She has joined his #findhannah campaign and goes out on searches which is where she meets him. They begin a relationship but it doesn't take her long to see who Kyle really is.

I loved this book and I felt like it was taking me in so many directions. The end was very satisfying and the characters all had many layers, which I love. I gave it four stars only because it could have flowed a little better. I would definitely recommend!

You know that feeling when you start a new book - Apprehension mixed with a touch of excitement - and then as you read more you realise you’ve got something quite special in your hands? Well for me, this book was it!

I devoured, absorbed and ate up every last word this book had to offer. I simply could not put it down even when my eyelids were feeling heavy and my brain was going slushy after a long day.

Told from different perspectives (Hannah- the missing wife, Kyle - the doting husband, Julia - the obsessive bystander, Kerry & Simon - the investigating officers and Kate - the girlfriend of Hannah’s coworker) the reader is given a full 360 degree view of each situation. It makes you ask yourself: is the marriage what it appears to be? Are Julia’s intentions honest? What’s the true nature of Hannah and Guy’s friendship? Did Hannah leave? Who’s not telling the whole truth?

I loved all the twists and turns this book throws at you and the writing style was just so easy to read. All of the characters were well written and believable, so well in-fact that it felt like this one book was part of a series. The banter, the little quirks in their friendships - all leading towards an engrossing read.

For some reason I had it in my head that the ending would’ve been more of a cliffhanger. Perhaps more in line with Gone Girl? I enjoyed the ending that was given, but I think I surprised myself by expecting a different outcome. I’m not I totally understood the email about the rings?

Thank you to NetGalley for my advance copy of this book in exchange for my unbiased review.

This book is really great. It has everything a great thriller must have, a disappearance, a deep investigation and a plot twist.
When Hannah disappears, Kyle, her husband, notifies her disappearance to the police, and they start investigating. But not only Hanna’s whereabouts will be revealed, but also a lot of dark secrets about almost everyone who knows Hannah or ir involved in the investigation.
I really liked that Rose tells us the story behind every character, because it gives us the whole picture, about why everyone behaves the way they do, and how Hanna’s relationships matter to the investigation.
Another thing that i found fascinating was how many times the author was able to throw us mini plot twists without overshadowing the main one.
Although we discover Hanna’s whereabouts after half of the book, the part that comes after discovering it, isn’t something that was wrote just to fill, but it’s something that has a meaning to the story.
For me, it was really hard to read about Kyle’s abusive behavior, because it was written really detailed, and it just broke my heart to realise that it’s something a lot of women suffer daily.

So halfway through the book you find out exactly what's going on. I kept hanging on, waiting for a Gone Girl twist or something more to happen but...nope.
