This book was an easy romantic read where we see Annie, a social media influencer and serial matchmaker meet George, a journalist who is intent on interviewing her brother about his business and wealth. George thinks there are secrets to reveal but he doesn't have any idea what secret Annie is hiding.
It is a book set in a small town and the story starts when Annie and George meet at her brother's wedding. He is a wealthy man and he is determined to uncover and reveal his secrets. The pair begin to work together and slowly they both realise they are falling in love with each other but neither is willing to take the step or to discuss their feelings. Living in a small town lots of other people question their intentions but for a lot of the book, they deny their feelings toward each other. The book explores more of Annie's personality, she has low self-esteem despite being a social media influencer and is certain she is not worthy of love. The book has many ups and downs and was a well-written book that flowed easily from Annie's views to George's views which I liked. It has a beautiful cover and it was not until well into the book that I realised this was the third book in a series. I am not sure if I missed out on this for this story but I felt this was for a stand-alone read.
A nice story about how two people can fall in love even when they are so far apart when they first meet.
I gave this book 3 stars, it was enjoyable and an easy read.

The third in a romance series and as they do in the romance genre, each book has its own romance self contained in each book, but I suggest with this series you start with book one as the characters are very much intertwined in each story as they are from the same family.

I start with that explanation, but this book felt different from the first two as they focused on two of the three sisters in the family. This third book felt as though it was an off shoot as it focused on a new sister-in-law to the family and went outside the nuclear family. Annie moved to this small CA town with her older brother who has married one of the sisters, read a previous book for their love journey and there is a reporter that has been a pain and of course, sometimes we fall in love with those who irritate us the most!

I enjoyed their love story, but wish book three had focused on the third sister first before the series took a turn to others in this town. Annie and George orbited each other in creative ways throughout the book. I loved the ups and downs that their love story took, it even made me laugh out loud.

I hope that there will be a book four in the series and that we can get Rose's love story and learn more about this third sister in the family.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW

Review for 'Wildflower Promises' by Alys Murray

Read and reviewed via NetGalley for Bookouture publishers and Bookouture anonymous

This is the first book that I have read by this author and is the third novel in the 'Full Bloom Farm' series. Although this book is the third in the series it can definitely be read as a standalone and you wouldn't be able to tell its part of the series. I am looking forward to reading more of her books!

I was originally drawn to this book by its beautiful cover and title & interesting blurb. It is also a different genre to what I normally read so it was a perfect excuse to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. I must admit I was also biased due to the publisher being Bookouture. I have yet to read a book published by Bookouture that I haven't enjoyed. Hopefully this won't be the first... Watch this space! (Written before I started reading the book).

This novel consists of 23 chapters and an epilogue which are a nice length so that you can read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!

This book is written from the perspectives of Annie and George and it is set in California. I always enjoy reading books written from several persons perspectives as it feels like I get to know the characters better and get a bigger picture of what is going on. The way it was written made me feel like I was right next to Annie and George and going through all the emotional turmoil with them

This novel is very smoothly written and flowed lovely. It had me hooked from the first page to the very last. It's a very light hearted and beautiful story of finding love in the most unlikely of places. There was drama, tears, laughter, love, secrets and lies all around, everything that makes the perfect romance. It almost brought me to tears and I'm a very hard hearted person!!!

The characters were all strong and well defined. I loved all their personalities, flaws and quirks and I feel that they all worked together perfectly in this book. Annie remind me of myself not very long ago in wanting to be liked by everyone and I liked seeing a bit of my old self in a character. I also love the fact that although she could have bought a huge mansion she bought the complete opposite.

The descriptions were excellent and the locations beautiful. They made me feel that I was really in the storyline. The ending was perfect and I would love to read more of their story and lives. I am also looking forward to reading more books by Alys Murray who has made a new fan of me.

Overall a perfect light hearted, beautiful summer romance read.

Genres covered include Fiction, Romance novel and Contemporary romance.

I would recommend this book to fans of the above and anyone looking for a lighthearted read.

247 pages.

This book is £1.99 to purchase on kindle via Amazon which I think is an absolute bargain for this book!!!

Rated 5/5 (I loved it ) on Goodreads, Instagram, Amazon UK and Amazon US and on over 30 Facebook pages plus my blog on Facebook.

I fell in love with Wildflower Promises right from the beginning. Annie, George and Rose made me laugh and cry with their quick wit and insecurities.
Annie is a social influencer who struggles with her self esteem and who she really is. George is a journalist trying to earn national fame by writing exposes. Both of them have a secret that has shaped them into who they’ve become. From enemies, to frenemies to best friends, Annie and George’s love story is very real.
Alys Murray is one of my new favorite authors! I can’t wait to read the rest of the series so I can learn everyone else’s story.

Review

Hillboro welcomes us for the third time.

After having read the (love)story about the Harper and May, I thought we would be treated to Rose's fairy tale. Was I right? Weeeeelllll, yes and no. I see you thinking what I mean by that, but sorry, not going to reveal that. You will have to find that out for yourself.

Annie has always played an important role in the series. Will she be on the foreground again or will she have a more subdued part this time? Knowing Annie, I guess this will probably more like the former. ;)

When you have to choose between personal success and love, what would you pick?

Anyway, a nice story about how distrust and dislike can turn into love, can turn into hate, but can it turn back into love again?  4 stars

Thank you, Alys Murray and Bookouture

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

Absolutely, this is a unputdownable book. A book so beautifully written.

I think this book will stay with readers long after they’ve read it or will be able to still remember reading it a long time afterwards.

No spoilers, you have to read it.

Recommend it.

This one might be my favorite of the whole series. Annie is such a fun character and the Emma vibes fit right in with her character. Alys is a wonderful writer who is adept at building that romantic tension. A very fun summer read
