I got the e-arc through Netgalley for an honest review. Yes, it is my first Rebel Girls book, and I would do my best to read the other series's other books.
There were a couple of women in the book that I knew about them. The book is very informative; it takes different women from different eras worldwide and showcases different ethnicities, nationalities, and religions.
The 100 immigrant women and many more did, do, and will continue doing more for a better future for humanity.
This volume focuses on immigrant women who left their birth country and moved elsewhere for some reason or another. Some did it out of necessity, others just because they were looking for new opportunities. The formatting feels a bit off in the Kindle version, but I am sure the hardcover will be beautiful to read. A nice book to read for inspiration.

I've been meaning to read Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls and this introduction to the series was lovely. I'm really tempted to get the book soon.

Lovely artwork and great concise information of so many admirable women, perfect for reading to little kids so they can understand and not be overwhelmed by descriptive text. Even though I don't have children, I would love to have these books for myself or give them as gifts to friends with kids of their own. I will definitely be buying the series.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for providing the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed my first exposure to this delightful series! "Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls" presents short, digestible, inspiring biographies of notable women across a wide section of fields (scientists, athletes, activists, artists, politicians, etc) with a strong emphasis on women who made the world a better place for others.

This particular book centers on immigrant women, and their stories sometimes involve leaving war torn areas, but the stories are told in age appropriate ways. I think these stories would be appropriate for early elementary students (ages 6-10), and parents may find that younger children love them, as well. I'm a mid-40s teacher and mother of grown children, and I found myself captivated and inspired! Definitely recommend!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion, which I am always happy to give! :) My thanks to the author, publisher, and #NetGalley for this opportunity.

The perfect book for your little one. Whether you are an immigrant or not this book steps over the divide created by legal status and presents immigrants in a light that one can not help but admire them.

For homeschool, we like to study important women who have changed the world and the good night series of books have been so wonderful for that!

This is the kind of book that many young women need in their lives. We've read the previous books in this series, and this one taught ME a lot about women I did not know well or even know anything about. That tells me that I need to delve into learning more about these incredible people who might not appear in mainstream media or in my corner of the world. We will read this time and again as a family and focus on several of the women to pursue more information on and follow along with. Gorgeous illustrations and highly readable text.

The book not only covers the immigration of women to United States but women who left a life of luxury to serve the people of another continent or another country. They are one page stories told in brisk and precise achievements of the women. The women who rebelled were not "bad women" as often associate rebel=bad but women who wanted to empower other women, empower themselves and bring a change in the way the society looks at women. This big book is a wonderful gift or a buy for small children certainly but also for adults to know about the lesser known women and their contribution to the world. Some go back to the 1800s to the present times. When you read the book, you realise the importance of their stories and why young girls should definitely read it. I loved the pastel colours used in the illustrations and each illustrator being different brings their own identity too in the illustrations. Please get this book and thanks to rebel girls and Netgalley for the ARC of the book.

Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an advance reader's copy in exchange for an honest review.

This installment of Rebel Girls follows the stories of 100 women who have achieved greatness in their respective fields and are immigrants. A few stories are more familiar than the others and we also get to read about lesser known brave and compassionate women.

All these women have made significant impact in the world. The stories are pretty short and children can read this book and get to know about a single person everyday. The diversity of the stories in this book is good and everyone can find a story that appeals to them the most.

The formatting feels a bit off in the Kindle version but I am pretty sure the hardcover is going to be beautiful to read. A nice book to read for inspiration.

I have read and thoroughly enjoyed the two previous volumes of 'Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls', so when I saw this was available from netgalley I had to check it out. As a teacher, I have shared these books with my classes before (8-10 year olds) and they absolutely adored them.

This particular volume focuses on 100 immigrant women from all over the world, who for various reasons left their birth country and moved elsewhere. The author has once again done an amazing job of collecting the stories of lots of inspirational women (many of whom I had never heard of), from artists to archers and spies to chefs. The stunning illustrations the accompany the descriptions are a huge bonus and are from a wide range of female artists and illustrators.

A fantastic and inspiring book to be shared with children!

The arc did not have any of the artwork and I cant give any feedback on anything but the words.

This book gives a few sentences on the lives of powerful immigrant women from countries all over the world. Stories are told in alphabetical order by the woman's first name, they also give the birth date (and death if the woman has passed) as well as the countries the woman immigrated from and to. As expected these women face adversity in their lives and this book doesn't shy away from the harmful events of these women's lives but it words those things in a way that is appropriate for children.

I'd recommend this for children who need female role models.

What a charming, encouraging, beautiful, inspiring book! I hadn't read any of the others written in this style, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and could see myself reading this to my children in the future. Not only was the content fantastic (the biographies/"stories") were just long enough to be engaging but not tip past that point when you lose interest. I could not get enough of the illustrations-- absolutely gorgeous, and I'm a sucker for a good quote. Really liked this.

My kids already love the Rebel Girls books, so I knew this one would be a hit as well. We enjoyed the variety of time periods and locations included in this edition, and we have begun doing research on some of the women whose stories we found particularly intriguing.

I really loved the diverse range of women featured here in terms of time period, profession, and where they came from. This is very similar to the first two Rebel Girl books, they're quick, one page biographies of inspirational women. My copy had some formatting issues (no illustrations, format with quotes was weird) but besides that it's a great easy read.

Great resource and inspiration for young readers; I wish I could have seen artwork, as I am sure that will add tremendously to the appeal of this work.

Just like the other REBEL GIRLS books, this is wonderful! Filled with absolutely delightful illustrations and inspirational stories about strong women, in this case women who are American immigrants.

I did not like that Anna Wintour was included in this book. There is absolutely a place for strong decisive women in the workplace, but Anna Wintour is widely known for being ruthless, unkind, and creating a toxic work environment. I do not believe those are labels she earned for being a strong woman. I think she earned those labels for being harsh, unkind, and by treating others deplorably. Especially in light of the recent admission on her part of creating a work environment that frowned on racial diversity. I think there are so many strong immigrant women in America that can be showcased that Anna Wintour should not be celebrated.

This is the review that I posted to my instagram stories; it saved under my "reviews" bookmark on my insta page:

This was my first time reading a Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls book even though I’ve heard great things about them! I’m glad I got to check this one out and definitely see myself reading the other two volumes in the future as well as gifting these books come the holiday season.

It’s a hard book to review since it’s mini-essays on people’s lives and how they changed the world so I’m not giving this one a star rating.

It’s definitely a lovely book that, while people of all ages can enjoy, is aimed at a younger audience. It’s a great entry-level book and piques the curiosity of the reader for many of the girls featured within. As an adult reader I wish there had been loads more of information, but, like I said, it’s for a younger audience and I can use this as a perfect jumping off point to learn about a lot of different amazing women.

The variety of people in this book is pretty cool! There are women from all walks of life and who have done different things. The focus of this volume is on immigrant women; my first thought was that it was all women who had immigrated to the States (which is a ridiculous thought I had, definitely shows a place in my own reading and thinking where I need to spend time growing), but it’s actually women from loads of different countries immigrating to loads of other, different countries (does that make sense, lol?). I really liked that! Maybe silly of me, but as a young reader I, too, would have just assumed it was people coming to the States, and I think it’s great for children to see just how wide the world is, even in this (somewhat small) way.

I’ll be the first to admit that I get teary-eyed whenever I read about amazing women. It’s hard not to when faced with greatness! Like Serena Williams? I’ve cried while watching her tennis matches. I definitely got emotional reading about the women in these pages and just being like “Wow they are so awesome!” Definitely full of inspiring figures, both alive and dead!

I love the Rebel Girls series, and was thrilled to find out their latest installment focuses on immigrant women from all over the world! The majority of the ladies represented here I had never heard of, and it is delightful that their stories are being told. I love the Good Night Stories format, as it keeps it short and simple for young readers with just enough details to leave the reader satisfied. I also like that each illustration is done by a different artist, giving light to many different illustrators and their styles (although, of course, some I liked better than others ;-) )

This book is a fantastic contribution to the Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls. My kids loved it, and I loved sharing stories of immigrant women with them. Highly recommend.

The latest instalment in the popular Rebel Girls series reveals the stories of athletes, entertainers, business women, activists, creators, scientists, politicians and other inspiring women. Each one is an immigrant and many of them have had to overcome significant challenges to succeed. The mini biographies only take a few minutes to read and each one is accompanied by an illustration, so it’s a good book for dipping in and out of.

Sharing the stories of 100 immigrant women “who have changed the world”, this latest addition to the 'Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls' series has all the elements young readers and parents love about the previous two bestselling books.

Unlike 'Good Night Stories' #1 and #2 which were co-written by Elena Favilli and Francesca Cavallo, this one is authored solely by Elena Favilli. However, like the other books, each of the 100 entries is illustrated by a different artist, so you also get the chance to discover new illustrators via the book (and can easily find each one afterward using an index solely documenting the illustrators).

I was particularly interested to discover Gerda Taro, Lorella Praeli, Malika Oufkir, and Marcela Contreras, all of whose stories I wasn’t familiar with until now, and to see Ilhan Omar, Min Jin Lee, Bana Alabed and Turia Pitt included (the latter whose work I’ve followed for years but didn’t know was born in Tahiti and not Australia until reading it here).

As with the earlier two books, 'Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls: 100 Immigrants Who Changed the World' makes a great gift for the young people in your life. This one will particularly land with readers learning about and celebrating their own family’s immigration history, and feels especially important in these divisive times.

Thanks to Rebel Girls and NetGalley for providing me with a complimentary ARC in exchange for an honest review.
