A cute, sweet story. Mr. Mole is new to Juniper Hollow, and the residents are a bit puzzled by his behavior- when greeted by Raccoon, Mr. Mole returns the greeting, but shakes a tree branch instead of Raccoon's hand, for example. The town's inhabitants take it in stride, thinking this must be how things are done where he comes from. It isn't until one of the Rabbit's children, a girl who wears glasses, realizes what the problem is and gives him her extra pair of glasses that things get cleared up. Readers will likely catch on before that, but it's fun knowing ahead of time, like knowing a secret. The illustrations are a real treat, made up of beautifully handcrafted animals and scenery. The story gives lessons on welcoming new neighbors, being understanding of different customs, and being polite. A fun read.

This is a Juniper Hollow story by Lesley-Anne Green that is so cute. Mole has moved from Mole Town into Juniper Hollow and he is looking forward to meeting his new neighbours. Well, when he gets out and about he does such strange things. He shakes hands with bushes, apologizes to fence posts when he bumps into them, and many other things that are passed off as "that must just be how they do it in Mole Town". Well as an adult, I figured out the problem right away, but it was fun to see what the grandkids thought of Mole's behaviour. This is a fun and entertaining story. I have to say something about the illustrations. Lesley-Anne Green creates her characters from felt and clay. You can search for videos of her working in her workshop online. They are so cute and add so much to the story. I will be looking for more of the books in the Juniper Hollow series. I can see art lessons, lessons about self-care and helping others coming from using this book in a classroom. I recommend this one to primary classrooms, schools and public libraries.

Mr. Mole Moves In is a really fun story about a new neighbour in town. The images are all photographs of miniature textiles of various fabrics which is refreshing. I would use this story in a story time or as a children's bedtime story, there is something really cosy about it.

The storyline of Mr. Mole Moves In is a little odd but it provides a wonderful opportunity for discussions about good manners and how people deal with things differently.
The textile (wool, thread, fabric) creations in this book are awesome! Readers will be inspired to create their own critters and objects, using found items. Move over Barbara Reid.
Thank you to Penguin Random House Canada and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this ARC.

This book made me laugh out loud! This charming story about the fallbacks of making assumptions in order to be polite will brighten anyone's day. It was illustrated in a delightful little felt world that is easy to get lost in! I can't wait to share this book with customers!

Mr. Mole Moves In is a delightfully charming storytime book. Set in the town of Juniper Hollow everyone is excited to meet the newest resident, Mr. Mole. As they run into him, the other animals notice he does and says things in a bit of a peculiar manner. Is Mr Mole behaving like a polite folks do back home in Moletown or is there something else going on?

I love how the entire town was so kind and embraced Mr. Mole. Instead of thinking him strange. They see positives and try to understand his odd behaviour. Little ones should have fun discovering the reason why Mr. Mole does things a bit differently from most. The photos are whimsical with gorgeous little felt animals in front of wonderful backgrounds. It truly is a lovely book to look at, with an equally charming story.

We were so excited to revisit Juniper Hollow in Lesley-Anne Green’s new addition to the Juniper Hollow series Mr. Mole Moves In.

All the animals in Juniper Hollow are so excited that Mr. Mole has moved in but he does do some peculiar things. All the residents chalk it up to the way they do things in Moletown until a little rabbit realizes the reason behind Mr. Mole’s behaviour. He just needs glasses!!

We LOVE the art in this story. Lesley-Anne Green brings Juniper Hollow to life in little vignettes complete with needle felted little residents of the town. Really adorable and so creative! We really appreciate the different ways authors and illustrators are bringing their stories to life and are enthralled by the detail and precision that goes into creating each of the illustrations in the story.

We sincerely hope we get to meet more of the residents of Juniper Hollow in new and interesting stories of their own.

This book was adorable. I loved how it not only showed what it means to be a community but also that you don't need to understand people to be kind to them. Good story for children and the adorable illustrations keep them interested.

Mr. Mole is starting a new adventure! He’s moved to a new neighbourhood and is finding his footing. We follow him as he meets friends on his first journey through town, and, through a series of silly discoveries, learn a little about what makes Mr. Mole unique. Full of laugh-out-loud moments and a touching reveal, his new friends band together to help him feel more welcome, accepting his differences (even if they seem strange). I love the charming unfolding and the understated moral of the story, with the perfect touch of humour and bewilderment. And the adorably designed critters are so charming and tactile, they feel like little scenes you’ve set up to act out the story! Made in needle-felted wool, they look so soft and real - like they could just jump off the page and into your home.

Mr. Mole Moves In is a cute book full of felt animals.

This book is so unique! I absolutely love the unique felt animals and how cool they are. The practical effects of the pictures is so amazing that I can hardly hide my excitement.

The story itself is great too - Mr. Mole moves in and meets a whole bunch of friends. It's entertaining and comedic, which makes it the perfect little book to bond with your children.

Four out of five stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Random House Canada for providing me a free copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.

I’m not sure what is more charming, the story of the illustrations. The illustrations are actually pictures of felted animals and scenes they have been placed into. Mole has just moved to town. But he has some peculiar habits like shaking tree limbs instead of hands, buying erasers instead of candy, etc. It turns out that Mole lost his glasses and it’s a cute little bunny that figures it out. This was a lovely story that is reminiscent of Peter Rabbit and his crew.

This book was so sweet, the art itself makes it a worthy read. Characters are felted and I believe the background is clay? It is stunning and very, very unique. The story was on the wordy-side, and lost my kids a bit. However, it’s such an adorable book that I’d recommend it just for the images.

A very sweet picture book, with the real standout being the pictures themselves. I have never seen another book that uses this style, with photographs of the characters who are handmade and backgrounds of tiny objects. Truly so unique and wonderful to look at. The story itself is fine, though not particularly memorable. I would include this in my classroom library.

I absolutely adored this book! Not your typical illustrations - the felt and clay work was WELL-DONE! I definitely think kids will love seeing the pictures matched with the story about a wonderful new mole who moves into town, and makes hilarious first impressions on all the townspeople who realize....are you ready for a spoiler....that Mr. Mole simply needs a pair of glasses. Children will adore this story and giggle throughout it.

Review will post Nov 29, 2020 on blog.

A fun story of misadventure as Mole moves to a new town. Love the friendly neighbours and the wonderful needle-felted animals!

What a weird little book.
It uses photos instead of illustrations and the yarn "critters" are pretty darn cute.
They resemble Calico Critters enough that the tiny humans in my life (currently obsessed with Calico critters) were fooled.
They LOVED it for the cute animals and funny things Mr. Mole did.
The story was a bit wordy for a bedtime story and not nearly as entertaining for this adult as it was for the tiny humans.
Thanks to NetGalley & Penguin Random House Canada for my DRC.
