I received from Netgalley.

A fun rom-com about a former baseball star and his best friend's little sister. Georgie is sick of no one taking her seriously and learns to stand up for herself while helping Travis get out of his end of a baseball career funk.

I really enjoyed this book. It is a light hearted and fun read that touches on more serious topics of finding yourself.

I was really hoping for this book to materialize into a lot more than it did. Travis is a former baseball player who was injured and now is flipping house. I really wAnted some renovations and more about flipping houses but it never happened. Georgie cooks up s plan for proplr yo believe that she abc Travis are dating. I just could not get into this book...it was just too dirty for me

This was an enjoyable romantic comedy that edged into more graphic romance. I wanted to like the story more than I did, but I will say I did need to know how it ended. I’m not opposed to graphic sex in a story, but the particulars in this story seemed counter-productive with the empowerment story lines for both of our two main characters. Georgie has never had anyone taken her seriously. Not only is she the youngest but she chose clown as her career path. Travis was a famous baseball player until an injury led him back to his home town. The story hits the common forbidden best friend’s sister romance but it does go beyond with some growth in other relationships with friends and family. Georgie’s character is well written and she carries the book in my opinion. A lot of the supporting cast is a little one note, but I think there is room to develop them further in the other books in this series.

Steamy but oh so sweet! A beautiful friends to lovers quick read. I loved the characters and was rooting for them from the start. I already started on the 2nd book in the series!

Fix Her Up is a light summer beach read. It is funny, heartwarming, and romantic. It was fun to read!

Received this free from William Morrow. I haven’t read anything chick lit in a long time. This was cheesy and corny at times. But absolutely perfect. I certainly cheered for the main characters all through out their story. Disclaimer: there are very detailed sex scenes.

I finished this book in one day! A great steamy romance with fun characters, a fun plot, and fake dating (which is my all time favorite romance trope)!

A good lighthearted and steamy romance to read. Enjoyed the characters but the plot wasn't as fascinating as I had hoped it would be.

A feel good story of two people lifting each other out of a slump. A good story to build self esteem. A little too much detail of the sex. I fast read over those parts.

It was easy to get tangled up in Fix Her Up. Tessa Bailey intertwines two troupes: the chance at fulfilling the fantasies of a youthful crush while pursuing a fake relationship. Georgie's girlhood crush and older brother's best friend, Travis, returns to town after an injury ends his baseball career. She's lusted after him since childhood but she doesn't hold back from putting him in his place. Travis' reputation with the ladies, known as "two bats" follows him back to his hometown, however, when he gets an opportunity to return to sport he loves as a commenter for a family-friendly network, Georgie aims to help him shed the his player persona by helping him create a more wholesome image by fake dating her. Their dynamic starts off playful but becomes so much more, and their chemistry is undeniable. A quick and electric read.

Steamy! I was expecting quick, easy chic lit, but got something quite a bit more. If you like sexy times in the books you read, grab this one quick! If you are not a fan of hot, sexy times, then pass it by.

Travis has hit rock bottom in his baseball career and moved back home to lick his wounds, or rather drink away his wounds. Georgie, his childhood best friend's little sister who has been in love with him for like her whole life, won't allow him to feel sorry for himself any longer. They make an arrangement to be in a fake relationship in order to give Travis an improved reputation and to get Georgie's family to see her as a grown-up. Little did they know, everything they were playing at would come true.

Overall, I really liked the story and the characters. My only issue was probably Georgie's chosen profession. It was just hard to take her character seriously being a professional clown. I liked Georgie as a character, but I still don't like clowns! I would recommend this book to those readers I mentioned at the start of my review. I will be reading the other books in this serious.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed the storyline and the banter between the characters had me laughing out loud. However, the cursing and the extremely graphic sex scenes were a bit to much for my taste.

MC Georgette Castle’s family runs the best home renovation business in town. She loves planning children’s birthday parties and making people laugh. Georgie is ready make some life changes, firstly dating which she hasn’t done in awhile. There’s her Brother’s best friend Travis Ford, he was a major league baseball’s hottest rookie when an injury ended his career. Now he’s flipping houses, but he can’t even cross the street without someone recapping his greatest hits. Georgie has a wild idea that they pretend to date, to shock her family and help him land a new job and Travis agrees. This is a cute rom com but I was surprised with some of the raunchiness. Thanks to the Book Club Girls, Harper Collins Publishing, and NetGalley for an ebook copy. This is my honest review.

Travis Ford, known as a baseball star and playboy, is now out of the game and consumed in the post-baseball sorrow. Georgie, the baby sister of his best friend, won't tolerate his bullshit and ends up helping him get out of his funk. Little does he know Georgie's always had a crush on him. Over time, Travis starts seeing Georgie of more of what she is now that he's returned home, and you see their dynamics evolve with some steamy situations.

Fix Her Up is a quick, fun read great for a day at the beach if you don't overly think the plot. I did struggle a bit with the "baby girl" dynamic - things seemed fairly superficial and fast.

Thank you to Netgalley and to Avon for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

When this appeared as The Book Club Girls "Free Friday" pick, I scooped it up right away. From the cover and the description, it looked totally charming.

Basic premise: Georgie is a clown--literally--and is sick and tired of her family's refusal to take her seriously. When her brother's best friend--a pro baseball player taken down by an injury--moves back to town, sparks fly.

But...that's where all good things ended for me.

Did it end at the part where Georgie has her own house? Did I read that correctly? She is a birthday party clown and she was able to buy her own house at twenty three years old?

Did it end with the "handful of little-sister tit?"

Whenever it happened, let's just say this is not the book for me. Romance books with graphic sex scenes don't bother me. What bothers me is when it's all cringey, when the characters, especially a male lead who's anything but swoon-worthy, are all so awful, and when it's all just so crass and icky feeling. When your main character's one big claim is she's sick of people treating her like a kid and the love interest does nothing but infantalizes her, I'm going to check out.

I do appreciate HarperCollins making this available for Book Club Girls members; I'm just sorry I didn't enjoy it.

I am generally a fan of a good romantic comedy, but I found this one to be a little condescending to women. Bailey sets it up as a book meant to empower women. The main character, Georgie, and her gal pals start a club for women to help other women. That's a good premise. But, throughout the book, the love interest calls Georgie "Baby Girl." Not so good.
At the same time Georgie grouses multiple times in the book about being the youngest in the family. She hates that no one in her family will take her seriously. She sees herself as, "The kid sister who'd always left the heavy lifting to the adults and the big kids...and in their eyes always would." But, she lets Travis continue to call her Baby Girl, and she seems to like it. Not my cup of tea.
The writing was mediocre and repetitive, so while I finished the book, it was not one that I would recommend to others.

This book was a pleasant surprise for me - it starts out as a light romance/chick lit story and then develops into a very steamy romance! The characters seemed superficial at the beginning of the book but their personalities really drew me in as the story progressed and for the second half of the story I couldn't put it down. I was really happy with how the story emerged and there was lots happening for the entire book, unlike some romance novels with lots of buildup but no action until the end of the story. I agree with the reviews that say the title doesn't really do the book justice, but I am glad I stuck with it and read the whole story, it was a great summer beach read!

This was a very light book but I enjoyed it. I really liked all of the characters. It was a lot steamier than I expected, though!

The title didn't really fit the book. I still can't figure out why it was named "Fix Her Up." The H was not really likable and made some really inappropriate comments to the h. I couldn't sympathize with his pity party although I understand it was a big part of the story. The h seemed very immature and I couldn't really get on board with her choice of careers. I liked the sister and brother although the SIL was kind of a drag - though her quirks were somewhat interesting, I don't think the author did a great job of showcasing them. All in all, not a bad book but not great and not one I would recommend.

Cute, if predictable, love story about a grown man returning to town after a failed career attempt in major baseball. He reconnects with his best friends family - more importantly, he connects with the little sister who had been crushing on him since childhood. The usual boy meets girl - boy loses girl - boy wins girl back scenes ensue. It was cute at times, but the thing that turned me off was the language. I've always felt that if an author was descriptive enough, words like clit, pussy, and dick would not have to be used. I did like the bond of sisterhood that was written in about the women's empowerment club.
