Good mystery. Sometimes I got lost in the characters (I haven’t read the previous stories), but it was easy to find my way. Cooper is yummy. #netgalley

Cooper is a cowboy so right there says it all! Heart throb meets a beauty. The beauty happens to have a rough family history and much of the book is about murder and kidnapping of infants. and hunt for the children. It is a topic that often is kept quiet and not a topic in many books I have read. So it was refreshing to have a book that addresses real issues wrapped in a romance thriller. I found the book to be a good story. There is plenty of intrigue, suspense and drama but also some nice romance. I liked the book.

Deals with really serious subjects but absorbing and sweet at the same time. Loved this one.
Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

I have read a few of Donna Grant's books in the Heart of Texas series. I have liked them all. I was really into this one; even though it deals with horrific actions against pregnant women, human trafficking, and kidnapping. The main characters, Marlee and Cooper seem to have an almost instant attraction. I found their story quite compelling. The story flows so well, builds to the climax and then it concludes. Unfortunately for me, I felt let down. I wanted a better ending for their search for the missing boy and the criminal ring that had been operating for over 10 years in selling babies/infants. Perhaps part of the story will pick up in a subsequent book. I know it's probably just me; but I was deflated by the ending when some "loose ends" weren't tied-up to my satisfaction. That being said; it is a very good story (albeit alarming in some ways) and the writing is as good as always.

This is the first book by Donna Grant I have read and I ADORED IT. I know I will have to read the first four books in the series - that's how good this book was.
I was totally not prepared for this book to be a mystery as well - I was geared up for a good 'ole cowboy romance, and although this was, the main focus was a mystery. It was a pleasant surprise as the mystery was very entertaining - even if the last 15% of the book was a little nerve-racking.
Marlee, a PI from California, is in Texas trying to solve an infant kidnapping case. The clues led her to friends of Cooper, a handsome cowboy that is just a plain old good guy. The moment Marlee and Cooper meet they both felt the instant attraction to each other. Marlee retired from the police force to become a PI after her own 8 month pregnant sister was murdered and her baby girl taken from her body. Marlee has been on the hunt for her sister's killers and her niece ever since.
Cooper knows Marlee is the one for him - he just knew it from the moment they first spoke to each other. He knows he has to be with her for the rest of his life - but how can that work with her life being in California and his roots planted firmly in Texas? He just knows he will do whatever it takes to make it happen.
There are still some unsolved mysteries in this book so I'm assuming the next book will wrap up any loose ends.
I love Cooper and all his cowboy friends - each cowboy has his own book. This is the 5th book in the series and I assume the next book will cover Jace.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions above are mine without biases.

It is always sad when you start the next book in a series you enjoy only to find that you struggle to finish it. That was the case for me with this book. There is so little time spent on the couple I am not even sure I would classify it as romance. They weren’t developed as characters and went from instant attraction to declaring love based on so little. Everything in this book was focused on the mystery at this core and while it was a grisly topic I found I just couldn’t care less about the way it all unfolded. None of it seemed plausible to me and once the villains were introduced I lost any motivation to try to connect.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I've read a previous book in this series so knew some of the characters, which helps when reading a book in a series.
This is Cooper's story and he comes across as a good man, maybe a little lost in his life journey.
Marley, well yes I liked her and her mission, she dives in and pulls out all the stops to succeed, putting her own life on hold. I didn't like how at the beginning she messed with Cooper and his friends.
The story moves quickly and everyone seems to get involved. There is a romance and danger and a couple of bad uns! If anything I would have liked them to have more couple time, before declaring their love.
Still an enjoyable read.
3 - 3.5 stars

I have to admit, that even if I appreciated the book before this one, I was slightly disappointed by the plot of this one. Too many coincidences, too much drama, too much insta-love. Maybe the next one is going to be better, hopefully.
Devo ammettere che, nonostante abbia apprezzato i precedenti libri di questa serie, la trama di quest'ultimo mi ha un po' delusa. Troppe coincidenze, troppi drammi e amore troppo veloce. Magari il prossimo sará migliore....
THANKS NETGALLEY FOR THE PREVIEW!

I requested to read and review this book from St.Martin Publishing Company. This is the first book I have read by author Donna Grant. I love her writing style. Background is Texas and cowboys and ranches. This book will be leaving you not wanting to put it down. You are kept guessing until the end how it will play out. The characters Jace, Marlee, Cooper and the rest of the gang. You will love their spirit and background when it comes time to do the right thing. This book had suspense, romance, heart break, excitement, and so many more. This is for a mature type of reader. But any type of reader can appreciate this book.

It is very unusual, for me, to find myself in a quandary when writing a book review. However, in this instance, that is where I found myself after I finished this great book. I started by trying to decide if it was a love story (as suggested by the title), murder (of pregnant women), subsequent removal and kidnapping of their child, or betrayal by a trusted friend. After a week of pondering I have concluded that it is a combination of all the above. It appealed to me on so many levels that I find myself unable to fit it into any one primary catagory. I could write a synopsis for you the reader to contemplate but, I think, what I have already written should be more than enough to peak your interest if you enjoy any, or all, of the above sub catagories.
I very much recommend this book if you are looking for a change of pace. I have rated this book 4.5 stars.
I received an ARC from Netgalley for my unbiased and honest review of this book

Marlee was happy on her local police force but after her twin goes missing, Marlee ends up ging down her own rabbit hole into hell! The book begins with her twin's murder and her niece being kidnapped, literally taken from the safety of her mothers womb - a harrowing start to anyone's backstory!
Fast forward a decade and Marlee is now a PI but with a side mission of looking for her niece. Clues lead her to Clearview, TX where she tried to get an in with the people she suspects may be involved in the murder/abduction. Cooper, one hunkalicious cowboy is friends with these people and ultimately gets involved in the investigation.
Strong plot, harrowing beginning, and a few supporting characters that add to the story. There are plenty of twists and turns and the romance is scorching hot!

Much as I enjoyed this story, I have to admit it certainly didn't start off the way most romance novels do! Sadly, it starts off with the murder of the heroine's twin sister and the kidnapping of her niece. However, that even shapes not only her life but the entire course of this story.
While this book is the fifth book in the Heart of Texas series, it can definitely be read as a stand alone novel. Although, I do recommend reading the series, simply because all of the stories just pull you in from page one. As I said, this story is more than just a romance, it actually borders more on romantic suspense. Even though Marlee and Cooper don't mean under the best of circumstances, she is investigating his friends for illegally buying a baby, you can't help but hope they will become a couple. They are each what the other has been missing in life. But will love be enough when Marlee is on a mission that doesn't really have room for love?
Once again, Donna Grant has written a very engaging story with terrific characters. I am definitely looking forward to what she has in store next for readers of this series.

I have read all the other books in this series and have enjoyed them all but this one grabbed me from the beginning .I found it more of a detective story and also found at first the subject of babies being removed from the womb hard to get to grips with but I do advise you to carry on because it is a great story line and I couldn’t wait for the perpetrators to get their comeuppance. Really recommend it.

It's is great to be back with this lovely group of family and friends who are more like family. This time it's Cooper's turn to find love. As with any of these books there is some danger or a lot depending how you look at it. You will fall in love all over again with Cooper, Jace, Brice and Caleb. It took a little while to like Marlee, only because of how she is in the beginning of the book against all the people I have come to love to read about. Marlee is on a mission which in this case takes her to Clearview. The chemistry between Marlee and Cooper is off the charters. I like that they realize that at the beginning of the book. It just takes the book and some other things for them to figure out how to make that work. Now that Cooper has found his love, I really look forward to Jace's book. You can read this book as a stand alone but all the books are awesome and you would have a better understanding if you read them all too.
*I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily giving my honest opinion*

The friends and family theme in this series is really refreshing and the characters are so lovable. This one addresses a delicate and horrific subject which pulls at the heartstrings.
Cooper and Marlee come from different backgrounds. He is used to his life in the country and living amongst his friends and family.
Marlee has been through a terrible trauma. The loss of one dear to her has given her a new purpose, and this is how she finds herself in Clearview.
There is an instant attraction between the two the first time that they meet. Marlee is attracted to Cooper, but in her quest to find the criminals responsible for so many heartaches, she steps over a line. This could have been the end of a budding friendship, but once Cooper realises why she is in Clearview, he is ready to assist in any way he can. Marlee is used to go it alone. Will she accept Cooper's help and in the process explore what's happening between them?
There are a few twists along the way. It's well paced and well portrayed. It's upsetting at times, but the love between family and friends is heartwarming. It's so good to catch up with the characters from the previous books and I am dying to learn more about Jace. I have thoroughly enjoyed the series so far.
I was kindly issued with an eARC from Netgalley and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

This is my first Donna Grant book!!!
I've gotta say, love her writing style.
The characters, side characters, and town are charming and loveable as ever. The story grabs you and gets your attention from the start. I wanted to know how the story played out so bad, I read the book in one setting.
Way to go Donna Grant!

Cooper Owens has made a name for himself on the rodeo circuit for calf roping. He yearns to find his direction in life. Cooper believes he has found it with Marlee Frampton, yet the beautiful out-of-towner suspects his friend of a nefarious crime. He and his friends offer to help Marlee with her missing newborn case. Unfortunately, Cooper learns his hometown is right in the middle of an infant trafficking ring. Will Cooper’s military training help Marlee with her case? What other troubles will they find?
Marlee Frampton is a private investigato who specializes in missing children. Evidence leads her to a small town in Texas and to a particular family. When her lead is a bust, Marlee reluctantly turns to a certain green-eyed cowboy for help. She never imagined finding a man like Cooper. However, Marlee’s investigation takes a dangerous turn, and it not only jeopardizes her life but Cooper’s also. Will Marlee and Cooper finally bust the infant smuggling ring? Or will the case cost them more than just their lives?
Cooper is definitely a keeper! I have always liked him and Jace since their debut in COWBOY, CROSS MY HEART, book two in the series. I adore how Cooper respects Marlee’s privacy and guardedness. He never pressed or pressured her for any information she was not ready to give. What I love the most about Cooper is how he worries over Marlee’s wellbeing. He does not want her to burn herself out, especially in her line of work. Cooper convinces Marlee to take some down time.
Marlee is such an inspiring woman. She takes a traumatic event and turns it into a calling. I adore Marlee’s love for eighties music. She is a woman after my own heart since that is my music choice too. What I love the most about Marlee is her tenacity. She never once forgot about her niece, and she continues to search for her. Also, Marlee allows nothing to interfere in retrieving missing children or helping families to find closure.
LOOKING FOR A COWBOY is book five in Donna Grant’s cowboy-themed romantic suspense series, HEART OF TEXAS. I highly recommend reading this series in proper order to understand the characters’ deep bonds. I love how the couples from the previous four books play important roles throughout the story.
LOOKING FOR A COWBOY is a suspenseful tale about love finding two people when they least expect it. I do hope the author writes Jace’s happily-ever-after next. That man definitely deserves one.

Looking for a Cowboy by Donna Grant, published by St. Martin's Press, is book five in her Heart of Texas Series. Every book is about another couple and can easily be read as a stand-alone.
The previous bookjs are The Christmas Hero Cowboy; Cowboy, Cross my Heart; My Favorite Cowboy and A Cowboy Like You.
Meet Marlee and Cooper.
Marlee is working as police officer when her twin vanishes and later on shows up in a crime scene. Marlee never gave up looking for her niece and her mission is her whole life.
Cooper is a good guy who gets tangled in Marlee's investigation.
Looking for a Cowboy is a fast paced romance with thriller elements, a lot of suspense, an unputdownable pageturner. I loved everything about the book, 4,75 stars.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Anther hit for a very talented author. Can't wait to read more of her books. I highly recommend this author to everyone.

What a great book! Romance and suspense and a cowboy all the ingredients for a perfect read. I received an advance ebook from the publisher and this is my unbiased review.
