The heat crackles between Marlee and Cooper. I loved how they were into each other quickly. Some scenes were intense and I developed a huge crush on Texas hunk. I liked the grittiness of the plot, although repugnant. Marlee's sister was murdered and her baby kidnapped ten years prior and Marlee turned PI to hunt down the perps and reunite other stolen children with their parents. I wonder if this will be a series since some issues were left unresolved at the end. Cowboy chemistry is good in this one.

I usually can’t even read books where children are murdered, but I kept reading. Soon I found myself absorbed by Marlee Frampton and her efforts to find children who had been kidnapped, especially those taken from the womb and then the mother is killed. A tip sends her to Clearview, Texas, in hopes of finding a newborn who has been kidnapped that way. However, she finds this is not the newborn for whom she is looking. She does meet Cooper and his friends who want to help her find the missing child and offer their assistance. She finds herself falling for Cooper and he falls in love with her. However, the kidnapping ring, especially Chuck, sets out to kill them. You will want to race through these last pages to ensure Marlee and Cooper get their HEA.

Donna Grant writes great books. You can’t go wrong with purchasing her books.

Looking for a Cowboy by Donna Grant may be the fifth book in the Heart of Texas series but it was easily read as a standalone.

Ms. Grant's detailed description of the characters throughout the story made them all feel fully developed. Marlee is a strong and determined PI whose specialty is finding newborn babies who have been kidnapped after their mothers had been murdered. The statistics quoted for kidnapped babies in this book are staggering and heartbreaking. A plot that moved at the speed of light, action, family, close friendships and hot romance kept me turning the pages. The dramatic ending had me on the edge of my seat.

Looking for a Cowboy is a sexy, romantic suspense. P.I. Marlee Frampton has made her life mission to find the stolen babies of murdered mothers to be. A former cop, Marlee's passion stems from her twin's murder and the need to find her niece. Her newest lead brings her to small town Texas and the notice of Cooper Owens. When Cooper's friend's baby comes into question before being cleared, he decides to team up with his friends to help Marlee find the real missing baby and the bad guys. Marlee and Cooper's chemistry is off the charts and the danger just amps up for an action packed, steamy read with a satisfying HEA. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

I received this ARC for an honest review. This book was ok. It is what I call a filler book (something to read while waiting for another to release). It’s not a bad book, but predictable. This story is about Cooper and Marlee. Marlee is a police officer who’s pregnant sister was killed for child trafficking. Marlee is trying to find who killed her sister. Following a lead, to Clearview, Texas, Marlee thinks Cooper’s friends are adopting their baby from the bad guys. More happens, but not telling. Like I said it’s not a bad book, but predictable. It’s an ok read..

Do not start this book when you have other stuff to do. You won’t be able to put it down!! It is one of my favorite suspenseful romances.

Good mystery. Sometimes I got lost in the characters (I haven’t read the previous stories), but it was easy to find my way. Cooper is yummy. #netgalley

Cooper is a cowboy so right there says it all! Heart throb meets a beauty. The beauty happens to have a rough family history and much of the book is about murder and kidnapping of infants. and hunt for the children. It is a topic that often is kept quiet and not a topic in many books I have read. So it was refreshing to have a book that addresses real issues wrapped in a romance thriller. I found the book to be a good story. There is plenty of intrigue, suspense and drama but also some nice romance. I liked the book.

Deals with really serious subjects but absorbing and sweet at the same time. Loved this one.

Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

I have read a few of Donna Grant's books in the Heart of Texas series. I have liked them all. I was really into this one; even though it deals with horrific actions against pregnant women, human trafficking, and kidnapping. The main characters, Marlee and Cooper seem to have an almost instant attraction. I found their story quite compelling. The story flows so well, builds to the climax and then it concludes. Unfortunately for me, I felt let down. I wanted a better ending for their search for the missing boy and the criminal ring that had been operating for over 10 years in selling babies/infants. Perhaps part of the story will pick up in a subsequent book. I know it's probably just me; but I was deflated by the ending when some "loose ends" weren't tied-up to my satisfaction. That being said; it is a very good story (albeit alarming in some ways) and the writing is as good as always.

This is the first book by Donna Grant I have read and I ADORED IT. I know I will have to read the first four books in the series - that's how good this book was.

I was totally not prepared for this book to be a mystery as well - I was geared up for a good 'ole cowboy romance, and although this was, the main focus was a mystery. It was a pleasant surprise as the mystery was very entertaining - even if the last 15% of the book was a little nerve-racking.

Marlee, a PI from California, is in Texas trying to solve an infant kidnapping case. The clues led her to friends of Cooper, a handsome cowboy that is just a plain old good guy. The moment Marlee and Cooper meet they both felt the instant attraction to each other. Marlee retired from the police force to become a PI after her own 8 month pregnant sister was murdered and her baby girl taken from her body. Marlee has been on the hunt for her sister's killers and her niece ever since.

Cooper knows Marlee is the one for him - he just knew it from the moment they first spoke to each other. He knows he has to be with her for the rest of his life - but how can that work with her life being in California and his roots planted firmly in Texas? He just knows he will do whatever it takes to make it happen.

There are still some unsolved mysteries in this book so I'm assuming the next book will wrap up any loose ends.

I love Cooper and all his cowboy friends - each cowboy has his own book. This is the 5th book in the series and I assume the next book will cover Jace.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions above are mine without biases.

It is always sad when you start the next book in a series you enjoy only to find that you struggle to finish it. That was the case for me with this book. There is so little time spent on the couple I am not even sure I would classify it as romance. They weren’t developed as characters and went from instant attraction to declaring love based on so little. Everything in this book was focused on the mystery at this core and while it was a grisly topic I found I just couldn’t care less about the way it all unfolded. None of it seemed plausible to me and once the villains were introduced I lost any motivation to try to connect.

I've read a previous book in this series so knew some of the characters, which helps when reading a book in a series.

This is Cooper's story and he comes across as a good man, maybe a little lost in his life journey.

Marley, well yes I liked her and her mission, she dives in and pulls out all the stops to succeed, putting her own life on hold. I didn't like how at the beginning she messed with Cooper and his friends.

The story moves quickly and everyone seems to get involved. There is a romance and danger and a couple of bad uns! If anything I would have liked them to have more couple time, before declaring their love.

Still an enjoyable read.

3 - 3.5 stars

I have to admit, that even if I appreciated the book before this one, I was slightly disappointed by the plot of this one. Too many coincidences, too much drama, too much insta-love. Maybe the next one is going to be better, hopefully.

Devo ammettere che, nonostante abbia apprezzato i precedenti libri di questa serie, la trama di quest'ultimo mi ha un po' delusa. Troppe coincidenze, troppi drammi e amore troppo veloce. Magari il prossimo sará migliore....

I requested to read and review this book from St.Martin Publishing Company. This is the first book I have read by author Donna Grant. I love her writing style. Background is Texas and cowboys and ranches. This book will be leaving you not wanting to put it down. You are kept guessing until the end how it will play out. The characters Jace, Marlee, Cooper and the rest of the gang. You will love their spirit and background when it comes time to do the right thing. This book had suspense, romance, heart break, excitement, and so many more. This is for a mature type of reader. But any type of reader can appreciate this book.

It is very unusual, for me, to find myself in a quandary when writing a book review. However, in this instance, that is where I found myself after I finished this great book. I started by trying to decide if it was a love story (as suggested by the title), murder (of pregnant women), subsequent removal and kidnapping of their child, or betrayal by a trusted friend. After a week of pondering I have concluded that it is a combination of all the above. It appealed to me on so many levels that I find myself unable to fit it into any one primary catagory. I could write a synopsis for you the reader to contemplate but, I think, what I have already written should be more than enough to peak your interest if you enjoy any, or all, of the above sub catagories.

I very much recommend this book if you are looking for a change of pace. I have rated this book 4.5 stars.

Marlee was happy on her local police force but after her twin goes missing, Marlee ends up ging down her own rabbit hole into hell! The book begins with her twin's murder and her niece being kidnapped, literally taken from the safety of her mothers womb - a harrowing start to anyone's backstory!

Fast forward a decade and Marlee is now a PI but with a side mission of looking for her niece. Clues lead her to Clearview, TX where she tried to get an in with the people she suspects may be involved in the murder/abduction. Cooper, one hunkalicious cowboy is friends with these people and ultimately gets involved in the investigation.

Strong plot, harrowing beginning, and a few supporting characters that add to the story. There are plenty of twists and turns and the romance is scorching hot!

Much as I enjoyed this story, I have to admit it certainly didn't start off the way most romance novels do! Sadly, it starts off with the murder of the heroine's twin sister and the kidnapping of her niece. However, that even shapes not only her life but the entire course of this story.
While this book is the fifth book in the Heart of Texas series, it can definitely be read as a stand alone novel. Although, I do recommend reading the series, simply because all of the stories just pull you in from page one. As I said, this story is more than just a romance, it actually borders more on romantic suspense. Even though Marlee and Cooper don't mean under the best of circumstances, she is investigating his friends for illegally buying a baby, you can't help but hope they will become a couple. They are each what the other has been missing in life. But will love be enough when Marlee is on a mission that doesn't really have room for love?
Once again, Donna Grant has written a very engaging story with terrific characters. I am definitely looking forward to what she has in store next for readers of this series.
