This book was such an incredibly emotional journey. I felt such a wide range of things from humor, annoyance, shock, sadness, to sweetness. Both main characters were stuck in their lives and upon meeting each other, well to be fair we will say upon spending quality time together, they began to evolve and learn that things could be different. It isn't until near the end that they truly learn what is worth fighting over and fighting for. I look forward to seeing what happens with the other brothers.

THIS BOOK WAS SO MUCH FUN!!

What a roller-coaster ride! Claire and Tristan can hate each other like I've never read before! This book is utter perfection from start to finish.

After the initial meet-hate scene where he tries to buy out her company, the stage is set for their next meeting, which happens to be at a conference with all the delicious proximity and curse-filled stare-downs we could want, making it the perfect setup for explosive hate sex. And wow, does it deliver! But who can resist him? Claire certainly couldn't:

"Tristan Miles is chocolate. Rich, delicious, and dreamy, he offers a high . . . but in the end, he is detrimental to your health and bad to the bone."

I couldn't agree more: Tristan is the best kind of chocolate, like a Lindors truffle. Solid and delicious on the outside, soft and meltingly gooey on the inside.

But then, after Claire goes home to her three boys and Tristan tries to follow, the fun really begins. I haven't laughed so much at a book in a very long time! What those boys put him through is enough to send even the most stalwart suitor running for the hills! So creative, so on point, and I so appreciated that the author didn't make the children perfect little angels. These are real boys, and I loved every bit of them.

What follows is such a wonderful, deeply emotional family love story that I cannot recommend highly enough. When the bubble bursts and their insurmountable obstacle stares them in the face, it's impossible not to agree with both of them, and yet you want each of them to cave so we all can enjoy the love again. The solution comes from an unexpected corner when we realize who is really responsible for their match, and my heart simply melted all over again. What a joyous HEA for such a heartbreaking beginning. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

The Takeover was my first book by T. L. Swan and I absolutely LOVED it. This story made me laugh so much, but it also made my heart ache. That’s my favorite kind of story.

Tristan made me swoon. He can be a bit of an ass, but underneath it all, he’s warm, caring, funny, and sexy. His interactions with Claire’s sons made me laugh so hard and then they gave me all the feels. Tristan has the biggest heart and he falls in love and will do anything for Claire and the boys.

Claire was rediscovering herself after losing her husband five years earlier. She was funny and so into Tristan once she gave him a chance. She was a bit protective of her heart and of her boys, but it was completely understandable. I did get frustrated with her near the end, but I knew her actions were out of fear.

The first meeting with Claire’s boys CRACKED ME UP!! I haven’t laughed so much at a book in a long time. Watching these characters become a family made my heart full.

The chemistry between Claire and Tristan was off the charts. They were hot. They also had an awesome friendship and later partnership. They were so good for each other.

If an enemies to lovers, single parent, age gap romance is your jam, look no further. The Takeover has so much heart, fun, and angst that it will keep you engaged until the very end.

I think I like this even better than book one! There were some seriously funny moments, and the banter between Tristan and Claire was off the charts. Claire is sure stubborn and resistant, Tristan had his work cut out for him in pursuing her, and then eventually her boys. I seriously about died the first time he met them!

And Tristan seems like a ruthless playboy in a suit, but that's so not him. He looks out for those he cares about, he's funny, willing to put his heart on the line. I love him.

I cried a couple times along the way, and I didn't want this story to end. The writing is so smooth and the flow is so perfect, making it a book that's hard to put down. The end surprised me in a good way, and now I have to wait and hope for more books.

The beginning left me wanting. We meet Tristan and Claire. He is a rich business man trying to buy her company and she is a widow, struggling to keep her late husband's company afloat.

Claire is wildly unprofessional and rude, so of course he is in love with her immediately. There's a lot snark, to and about other women, which I don't care for at all.

They meet up at a conference a few months after this and get together. Once they return home, Claire gets back to momlife and he is looking to presue their no-strings relationship at home. This quickly moves to a full string relationship with plenty of angsty shenanigans to keep things crazy.

An unhealthy suspension of disbelief is required to read this looooong book. She's a mother of 3 from LI, he's a billionaire who only dates gorgeous models. She's a mother of 3 who goes to a conference in France for a week, and then extends her trip further. There's more, but I don't want to give out spoilers.

This book was not for me. I didn't really connect with the characters, and while there were some sweet (and funny) moments with the kids and Tristan, it just wasn't enough for me. Also, Tristan, as the alpha-hole, makes a lot of decisions for this family and it was very red flaggy for me.

Thanks to Netgally for the ARC.

4.25 Stars

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher I was able to read an ARC of The Takeover by T.L. Swan. This was my first book I ever read by T.L. Swan and ABSOLUTELY loved it so much. Tristan Miles is a businessman who takes over failing companies and has he's sights on Anderson Media, Claire Anderson's late husband's company. She turns him down for a date and business offer only to end up meeting him at a conference 6 months later. They hate each other, but they can't stay away from each other. After a conference hookup and a weekend in Paris they come back to New York and reality sets in for Claire. She has three kids and a believes relationship with a younger man like Tristan will never work out. One of Claire's son ends up at an internship with Miles Media and once again their paths cross.

This book was sweet and super funny. Tristan's and Claire's inner monologues were hilarious to read at times. Tristan's scenes with Claire's kids, Fletcher, Harry, and Patrick, were so funny I was laughing out loud at parts. Patrick was such a cute kid and loved how he grew so attached to Tristan. All kids' relationship with Tristan was a fantastic read. The ending was perfect!! This wasn't just a love story between two people, but the forming of a family.

I liked the story overall and it could have been so fantastic if it wasn't for how badly main characters, Claire and Tristan were written. It was impossible for me to feel any emotions towards them whatsoever because they were acting so immature throughout the entire book. To be honest, I think 9-year old Patrick was the most mature character in the whole bunch. Claire appears to have some kind of identity crisis? I mean, how else can I explain why her monologues are in British English? She grew up in the US, lives in Long Island, but if you hear her, you'd never know that. Tristan is also very weird (I mean, who do you know that uses the word "underpants" in his daily speech? Not "underwear" or "boxers" or "briefs", UNDERPANTS...So odd). His inner monologues were also that of a 12-year old.
I appreciate the fact that we are dealing with older main characters (not your typical 20s), a single parent and grieving a loved one, I just wish the characters were more thought out.

I absolutely loved this book! I don't often cry in romance books and if I do it is usually only once. This book, however, had me tearing up on multiple occasions and once full-on crying. Tristian is swoon-worthy and definitely one of my favorite romance heroes.

The Takeover is a story about Widow Claire Anderson who is trying to keep her dead husband company a float and her life in balance. Enter Tristan Miles who wants her company and her body. When they meet up again at a conference he tries everything to get her to give in to his seduction. One day though she finally gives into her attraction to him and its intense and explosive. They spend a night together and Tristan asks Claire to join him in Paris which sets them up for something more. Claire only wants to live in the moment because once she goes home its back to reality for her with her boys. Tristan is not one to want to let her go and is willing to fight her for her heart. Claire is stubborn and thinks she has to do everything on her own. Tristan is a fixer and is always trying to find ways to help others. They hit so many roadblocks in their relationship and Claire's stubbornness is the main block because she just doesn't see what others see. I loved Tristan because he fought so hard throughout this story and was willing to fight for Claire and her boys. Claire was too much drama for me and I found her selfish and clueless. The whole book revolved around Claire not wanting to give anything in the relationship and Tristan giving his all the whole time. That is the only thing I found I didn't not like. It was a good mixture of laugh and love with these characters. Tristan and the boys more than made up for Claire and I am glad I got to read their story.

The Takeover – (The Miles High Club #2) - by T. L. Swan

The Takeover is a story of acquisitions and love and how four people become a family of five.

This is more than a love story between two adults but the love between two adults and three boys, the love of a man who wants to build a new family with a woman who is trying to move of from the loss of a husband and father and the love of three boys who need a good man to help them become men.

Tristan Miles business man, player and in charge of acquisitions for Miles Media wants to make an offer for Anderson Media, Claire Anderson wants nothing to do with him or his offer. Until they meet up months later at a conference in France. It’s then that Tristan realizes the acquisition he really wants is Claire. However, with Claire come three boys, Fletcher, Harry and Patrick, who are very protective of their mother and have no problem giving Tristan a hard time when it comes to winning them over.

T. L. Swan manages to weave humor, grief, and passion and character growth into a wonderful story of how a new family evolves out of the tension, trust, sometimes mistrust and anger and tears.

Swan’s Takeover will take hold of your heart and your feelings and then give you the ending that makes you sigh and leave a contented smile on your face.

I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for a review.

OK, so I am not sure exactly where to start with this story. The reason being is because I absolutely LOVED every word of this book! I laughed so much and felt so much during this ride . I wanted to side with Tristan Miles at times and then my heart would break for Claire Anderson and her boys. This book has it all, hilarious interactions, so much heart and angsty goodness all in one.
The banter between Tristan and Claire is nothing short of comedy gold! They give each other so much sass and crap, I was just eating it up. Claire's constant "the bastard," never gets old. While Tristan's constantly using "Anderson" at any given chance, was just brilliant. You could see the chemistry building and never sure when it was going to become combustible , but you just KNEW it would be explosive! What could you possibly do to add fuel to an already explosive situation? Add 3 precocious boys, ages 18, 13 and 9! The addition of the boys just added to the hilarity and heart of this story. Three boys who have lost their father 5 years prior and are trying to come to terms with this new man who has entered their lives. It makes you cry tears of joy from laughing and tears of pain for this family and the situation they are facing.
I really can not find enough words to express just how much I enjoyed and loved getting to know these characters and experience a wonderful story . I am looking forward to reading so much more from this author.

TL Swan has delivered again. This one is expectional. Enemies to Lovers. 5 stars, I would give it much more!
Tristian Miles is sexy, and rich. He wants to takeover Claire Andersons buisness. Their first meeting doesn't go well. She tells him there is no way she will take his offer. Tristain and Claire meet up again 6 months later and he knows he has to have her. Hotness off the charts.
I laughed so many times, Claire's boys are hilarious.
This book has it all. Emotions, trust, understanding and lots of love.
You will not be dissappointed.

If you are looking for a good read where you can escape and just enjoy...you are in the right spot! T L SWAN YOU TOTALLY ROCK! I just wish I could rate this book with 10 stars.

Wow. This book took me by surprise. I honestly went to netgalley and saw this cover and was like ok I will try this author. I am speechless.

This book has it all. The emotion, the steam (so so steamy), the laughter and I need to mention again... steam. The first part of this book was the push and pull of the hate Claire has for Miles. But when Claire finally lets her guard down.. these two burn. What I really loved most was the reality when they came back to real life. Claire and Tristen come from different realities. I was floored when Tristan met her kids. It’s no instant “I can be a father to these lovely kids” moment. This man has some real thoughts and I died being inside those thoughts.

Tristan Miles. I mean the perfect REAL man. Arrogant and sexy, yet funny and sensitive. I have found my newest book boyfriend.

I am left with wanting more from this couple. So much more. Can I please have just a tad more? Please.

I devoured Tristian & Claire’s story & in less than 24 hours I have read it twice.

TL Swan delivered so much greatness in Tristian & Claire’s story. Claire’s sons definitely gave Tristian a run for his money! I loved how Tristian treated Fletcher, Harry, & Patrick like his own and won them over.

Claire & Tristian had great chemistry & hilarious banter! Claire & Tristian were imperfectly perfect for each other. Neither of them were prepared for each other.

I love this series beyond words & I can’t wait for Elliot & Christopher’s stories!

I voluntarily reviewed this book.

This was a real delight to read! Tristan is a completely different character to his brother Jameson from book 1!

This book focuses on Claire and Tristan. Claire is a widow with 3 children, working hard to keep her husband legacy alive!
Initially things don’t go so well.
But that doesn’t stop Tristan from getting what he wants...and what he wants is Claire!
Looking forward to reading more about the Miles men... and hopefully there’s two more that might get their story!

1. I do not do spoilers unless warned.
2. Read the summary above; it will tell you what the book is about. I will not reiterate.
3. Characters are well developed and even likeable. Both characters grow by the end of the story and you do care about these characters long before the story ends.
4. Plot is somewhat typical rich, arrogant Hero meets average single mom troupe love story. Our Hero grows and evolves as he discovers what he really wants and our hero struggles as well with her reality. As our heroine is a mother of 3, I did enjoy the author writing in what all mother's face at some point - the fact that they love their children but their bodies have suffered for their children and will never be the same and I loved our Hero's response to that insecurity. When the children enter to story is where things really get good and real. I was laughing hysterically while trying not to wake my 5 year old I just got to sleep.
5. No errors that I caught as far as editing.
6. It’s an enjoyable very steamy romance and one I would recommend. This author was new to me and if this is an example of her work, I’ll be looking for more.

I have never met an alpha CEO so comical, what a wonderful refreshing read. It took so many unexpected turns. I was expecting a hard faced alpha douchebag. What I got was a funny, sensitive, alpha god, Tristan Miles, and the woman he can’t seem to get out of his head, Claire Anderson, a widow with 3 unruly boys. For 75% of the story I was laughing and chuckling to myself, I pretty much had a permanent smile on my face. The boys, were protective, naughty, and completely endearing. Tristan’s altercations with them were so funny. Then came the tears........Holy moly, I got emotional. Stubborn blooming characters, thinking that they’re doing the right thing and upsetting not only me, but all my wonderful new fictional family. Tristan didn’t know he needed a family to complete him, and the Andersons didn’t want to welcome anyone into their family, but life is full of curveballs. A wonderful story, great writing, with adorable characters, and so many sweet moments, a tonne of sexy moments, some emotional moments, and all those funny moments in between. I loved it. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.
