Paige Parker is a professional organizer. She is a focused entrepreneur who doesn't want to change her life for a man. One day, while browsing the internet, she does something unexpected,... She books a one week vacation to celebrate Singles Day. Paige heads to a small coastal town to a B&B that looks nothing like the pictures. The innkeeper, Lucas Croft is attractive, but grumpy. He's a recent widow with a young daughter and is definitely not looking for a relationship. A big storm and a week together with just the two of them helps them both discover what they might have been missing...
This was an enemy to lovers kind of story. It was a cute and easy read. Paige and Lucas are super cute together. They both have some serious baggage but I enjoyed reading about them working through it together. I liked that Lucas had a daughter; it makes it a bit of a different take and isn't what you would typically read. I also liked that Paige is a strong woman and entrepreneur; she isn't a damsel in distress by any means.
I recommend this to anyone looking for a quick and easy chick lit read.
Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for the eGalley. All opinions expressed are my own.

This was my first Ann Marie Walker book, and I enjoyed it! I almost gave this book three stars, but the epilogue was the reason why I kicked it up a star.
The relationship between Paige and Lucas was cute, and almost immediately, you could feel the connection that the couple had. Of course after they got over the whole thunderstorm, and the fact that Lucas's sister misrepresented the inn.
A book featured on the North Carolina coast (where I am from), and consistent Friends references? Count me in! That, tangled with the couple's relationship, and I was instantly drawn in.
The one thing that I found lacking from this novel was the steam. Paige and Lucas clearly have that connection, so why not tell us the readers!! Just when you think you can finally read about their connection...the chapter ENDS! Holy blue balls!
Don't worry though, I would still read Walker's other novels in the future. But, I won't hold out for any steamy scenes to appear!

3.5 Sweet Stars
What an adorable, easy read! Romance lovers will adore this sweet and heartwarming story. The Outer Banks, a handsome grumpy hero and a successful heroine. What's not to like? Full disclosure: there are no graphic scenes here, only some sexy talk and and a handsome hero.
Paige is a successful business owner who has no time for romance in her life. And Lucas is the owner of a North Carolina bed-and-breakfast who...has no room in his life for romance! The owner of The Copper Lantern Inn, he also a widower and the single father of a young daughter. His inn is run-down and could certainly use a dose of Paige's organizing skills.
There is very smart and funny banter, some very touching scenes, and an overall modern and contemporary romance vibe to this book. I loved Lucas! The author certainly knows how to create a swoony, sexy and sensitive male lead. I loved how independent Paige was, and her friendship with her assistant and best friend Sammy.
This book is a fun, touching and romantic read. It is the perfect antidote to our stressful times.
(And that cover! Love it.) There is a beautiful ending to this book that will please any romance lover. Happy reading!

I loved Happy Singles Day! It was such a cute romance. The story was great with just the right amount of ups and downs. Paige is someone I could be friends with! I like to organize and I need order 😆.
The only issue I had was the tease of steam and then cut to black. They were constantly sexing each other up in their minds but then when it came time to get to it we readers get nothing. I'm fine with no steam but don't tease me like that! 😄.
Not only was it a great romance but it was also a great story about loss and moving on. Very well written with great characters.

Paige is a professional organizer who has built her own business after finding her fiancé in bed with her boss. She’s a work horse who’s never taken a vacation and her assistant, Sammy (who is hilarious btw), insists she take a very much needed vacation. After taking a quiz to find the “perfect destination for a Singles Day vacation,” she books a stay at a B & B on a small island of the coast of North Carolina.
Other than being Ryan Reynolds’ doppelgänger, Lucas is trying to manage life as a single father, after his wife tragically passes away. The B & B he bought with his late wife is falling further and further into disrepair. With no money coming in from bookings, he’s in danger of losing it, until his meddling sister reactivates the listing for a room. The room which Paige just booked.
I really enjoyed this book. It’s a very sweet story about two people finding the piece they’ve been missing in another person. It was a fast and easy read; very light. The enemies to lovers part doesn’t last very long, once Paige sees where Lucas is coming from and he realizes he was a jerk at their first meeting. There are many adorable moments with his daughter, Maddie, and with some furry friends we meet along the way. I will point out that this is very closed door, especially since there is build up to it.If I hadn’t known this going into it, I may have been disappointed a bit. There’s a definite build up to sex, and it’s definitely sexy at times, but we never “see” the sex. That was really the only issue I had with it and there isn’t much conflict. I did have a slight eye roll at how she ended up at that B & B. If you’re taking a vacation quiz online, a tiny B & B in the middle of almost nowhere isn’t going to show up, but I get it and let it slide.
Thank you to NetGalley, Sourcebooks Casablanca, and Ann Marie Walker for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a cute read!
I’ve been loving books where a woman (or man) are trying to figure out their lives and this was it. Paige is a workaholic and goes on a vacation to relax. However, when she gets there it isn’t what she expected.
You meet Lucas, who at first is rude and doesn’t like Paige. However, you do grow to like him a lot! He has a precious daughter who warms your heart (single dads are always a YES).
I wish there was more steam... there wasn’t much. Or not the level of steam I wanted.
Overall it was an enjoyable book!

This book was so cute. It had the perfect blend of rom-com and steam mixed with serious topics. Lucas and Paige complimented each other so well and I felt had such a good balance between them. The real star of the show for me was Maddie. That little girl stole my heart, she’s the most precious. The ending was done really well to me and avoided the overly cliche ending. I would definitely read another story about Lucas, Paige, and Maddie.
Thank you @netgalley and @sourcebookscasa for the Advanced Readers Copy. Publish date: January 19, 2021!

As someone who is very single, the title of this book made me hesitate. I was afraid it was going to be cheesy. Holy Moly was I wrong. Yes, it was slightly cheesy, but it all the best Hallmark movieish ways. I loved Paige and Lucas and omg was Maddie hilarious. My only complaint was that for all the sexual buildup, this was a closed door book. We need more steam!

I am SO glad I discovered this book by accident on Netgalley because it has not, from what I've seen, received the hype that it deserves. I loved it! It was everything I love in a romantic comedy, most importantly: hilarious. I snort-laughed SO many times while reading. But it was also romantic and sexy (although the actual sex was off-the-page) and had just enough depth to keep it from being fluffy. The main characters Paige, Lucas, and Maddie were entirely lovable from start to finish.

Thank You Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC! This review is based on my honest opinion only.
Paige has been single since the day she found out that her fiancé, had been cheating behind her back. She becomes workaholic spending more time at work than spending time alone. So then Sammy, her assistant arranges an inn they come across from a website to spend the "Singles Day", Paige reluctantly agrees and leaves her busy life style in Chicago to a place in North Carolina and you have to reach to inn by a ferry. Lucas is a single dad with a five year old Maddie and his sister Sophie had asked Lucas to tend to their inn as she said there would be a guest soon. Paige and Lucas meet and they got on the wrong foot initially at first but then a storm prevents Paige from leaving and soon, they started getting to know each other, thus celebrating Singles Day.
I really like the concept of the story--normally when it comes to romance novels, it will be based on Valentine's Day so this concept of the story is good. However, there were some parts in the story that was a bit boring but other than that, it was actually a cheesy romantic story fun to read with some comic scenes in the book. Worth four stars in my opinion!

Happy singles day was a quick romance story that many will enjoy. I liked the characters and the settings and many times i felt like day dreaming the place because i love a coast small town.
Probably the most enthusiastic fact that i loved in this book was the real feeling of an adult woman that is in her thirties and doesn't have or want to change just because she meets a nice guy that fits more to her personality.
And i love Lucas so much, a wounded hero that is trying his best to be better and doesn't have big expectations from the world after his was shattered.
What i didn't like? Closed door intimacy, because damn, all that pent up steam and chemistry deserved an open door view.
Beautiful slow burn romance with a great banter and two characters that grew so much on me.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the early copy in exchange for a review.
This book wasn’t really that memorable for me. Not much really happened and despite the title, it didn’t really focus on being single or appreciating that.

DNF @ 25%. Even as someone who watches a lot of Hallmark Christmas movies, I couldn't get through this--it relies heavily on stereotypes of plus-size women, misogynistic men, and homosexuality (if I had to be reminded ONE MORE TIME that Paige's assistant is gay...). It's marketed as an "opposites attract" romance, but Lucas is so cruel and Paige is so hyper-organized (and that seems to be her only trait?) that I had zero interest in either of them.
It might appeal to some, but it definitely is not for me.

Sad to give this book a low rating. I read the author's Black Tie Optional and thoroughly enjoyed it, And while the premise of this book sounded exciting (yay for all the single and happy folx out there!) the story itself rubbed me the wrong way from the start with a misogynist comments of the hero. But I though, hmm maybe I'm just being overly sensitive. So I persisted, but the two main characters just aren't hitting it off.

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Happy Singles Day is a fun book in anticipation of Valentine’s Day, celebrating loving oneself regardless of being with a partner, and in some ways, it works. While it is a romance, so the couple ends up together, I like that the story reinforces the idea that this isn’t the be-all, end-all.
I liked that Paige was very career oriented, and while I did want that fleshed out a bit more, I did enjoy her portrayal for the most part. Meanwhile, I struggled to warm up to Lucas. I get he was grieving, but he acted like such a jerk for a lot of the book. That contributed to killing the mood quite a bit.
I did like that there were some sweet supporting characters. Lucas’ four year old daughter is sweet, and the dogs, the reason I picked this up, had some cute scenes, even if I felt there should have been more page time dedicated to them (to be fair, it could be all about them, and I might still say that!)
I enjoyed this book, even if there were aspects that I didn’t care for. If you’re looking for something fun to read in anticipation of Valentine’s Day, I think you’ll enjoy it, perhaps even more than I did.

Very cute romcom with Hallmark vibes! The story is delightful, and the story of Paige and Lucas was adorable. I will definitely be reading more from Ann Marie Walker.

3 stars!
We’ve all made bookings that have ended up nothing like they looked on the internet, right?
So has Paige Parker.
The very first thing that resonated with me about Paige is that she’s a workaholic, much like myself, except I have zero self-control and won’t stop reading. She’s been working for years on her own as a business owner with no breaks or vacations. When she sees an advert for Singles Appreciation Day (SAD, right?), she takes it — and her assistant’s multiple hints — as a sign to get out and spend a week at a cute, quaint inn in North Carolina.
For the first vacation she’s taken in years, everything that can go wrong does go wrong. No one mentioned that cars weren’t allowed on the island, the inn looks nothing like it did online, the innkeeper is mean and on top of that, a storm strands her here until she can finally catch the ferry.
Lucas Croft, on the other hand, was not prepared for any renters. The inn was his and his late wife’s dream, and in the two years she’s been gone, the inn has become one stiff wind away from inhabitable by guests. One meddling sister later, he’s got an uptight businesswoman on his hands, in his space, in the space his late wife decorated.
This is a pure got-off-on-the-wrong-foot trope, at its finest. It’s puppies stuck in a storm that bring them together, and in the week that Paige spends on the island, she loses some of her ice, and forms bonds with Lucas’ sister and daughter. Bonds she didn’t know she could form — kids are not her forte.
Maddie, an almost-five-year-old legend, made this book so much more enjoyable, because kids will say the weirdest things. I love how the author showed that although kids might not understand some things, they pick up on more things than we think.
There was also the vulnerability between the two characters, as much as the plot could afford them. I was so glad that the ending didn’t turn out to be the female protagonist going back on her word!
While I did think that multiple plot points were rushed, including the end, there was an air of fantasy to this story that kept me out of my head for the evening. It was a quick read, and I enjoyed that. I definitely would've liked to get to know the other characters some more, because I felt that I didn't really know Paige and Lucas as much as I wanted to know them.
All in all, cute read for an afternoon, curled up on a back porch!
Thank you NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca for providing this book to me in exchange for an honest review!

This very charming story is set in a dilapidated oceanside bed and breakfast -- which actually adds to the enjoyment of the story. It got that way because the proprietor, Lucas, lost his beloved wife. It had been their dream to run the place and grow old together there. Lucas' sister intervenes and advertises a room for rent, which is immediately booked by Paige, a hard charging, successful single woman who has decided she needs a break. In fact, she'll use the trip to celebrate "Singles Day," which if it hasn't really been invented yet, should. Her and Lucas start off very badly, but soon grow to love one another. Really enjoyed this.

Paige and Lucas have wonderful chemistry from the start even though they start off on a bad foot. Paige come for a break - vacation after years but comes to a broken down B and B that Lucas hasn't worked on for year after his wife dies. This book is just so adorable with puppies, cute kids, funny sister, and TMT! Lucas is the grumpy dude that turns into lovable man! There is also serious conversations that they solve to get that HEA.
This was my first book by this author and really enjoyed it! I looked forward to more!

⭐⭐⭐💫
This was a cute, closed door romance that would be a perfect Hallmark movie.
I enjoyed seeing Paige and Lucas' relationship develop throughout her stay at his B&B. They both were healing from previous relationships, and it was nice to see them open up to each other as they realized they were ready to move on.
This was definitely insta-love and I wasn't sure how they were going to make their relationship work beyond vacation, but it had a cute ending.
