Fun little read about a Type A professional organizer, Paige, who needs, really NEEDS a vacation. She ends up on the little island of Aurelia, North Carolina, thanks to her trusty assistant, Sam. Valentine's Day is coming up, but Paige has no Valentine. She's going to celebrate February 15. - Singles Day!

Lucas owns the B and B that Sam booked for Paige. The online listing looks amazing, but those photos are a few years old. And, things have gone a bit downhill since. Maybe more than a bit.

Paige is pretty high maintenance at the outset. Lucas is pretty much a jerk. The B and B is a wreck. The weather is awful. Then, Paige and Lucas discover a litter of puppies that are about to drown and all the ice between them melts

Cute story. A little predictable. Okay, a lot predictable. Nonetheless, it was a fun read and I would look for other books by this author. I thrive on predictable HEA's. LOL

Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for a digital ARC in return for an honest review.

Happy Singles Day by Ann Marie Walker is seriously such a great story of second chance love. I found my self laughing out loud multiple times and easily being able to relate to these characters so much that I instantly fell in love with them. When Paige takes a quiz online, she decides to take a desperately needed week-long vacation. Little does she know that the quaint bed and breakfast she booked wasn’t as advertised. When she runs into the innkeeper, Lucas, fireworks quickly fly but not in the best way. As she gets stuck on the island due to a storm, they both soon realize that there is more raging than just the storm outside. What follows is such a great love story, I can’t even describe it. You just need to read it for yourself. Despite getting this as an ARC from the publisher, I may just have to buy this book to give to my friend, who I know will love it just as much! I’m definitely going to have to read Ann’s other books.

Happy Singles Day is a Nicholas Sparks reminiscent love story on an island in North Carolina. A grumpy, widowed innkeeper meets a type A, perky woman looking to celebrate 'Singles Day', by taking her first relaxation vacation. Neither of them are looking for love, but when the right person comes along, it changes your perspective on everything.

I really enjoyed this book, though I believe it could have been better if it was longer. It has a bit of an insta-love feel to it because of it's shortness. They spend just a week together in the main portions of the book, without even liking each other the first few days. Normally I don't enjoy this trope, but I love the grumpy/sunshine trope so much that it made up for the insta-love. I appreciate that Lucas has a daughter because it created an additional dynamic to the relationship.

I very much appreciate the ending and epilogue of Happy Singles Day. It fully wrapped up the story, brought everything full circle, and was satisfactory. If you're a fan of the setting and characters of Nicholas Sparks book (without the devastation and tears) then definitely check this one out.

A little too sweet and Hallmark-y for my tastes. It was a DNF for me. I'm sure some people like this type of closed door sweet romance but it is not for me. I will give it three stars for effort.

Get out! I have Goosebumps and I probably should send Ann Marie Walker an email full of emojis because she gave me such an incredible book that I love so much and devoured in hours. This book tells the story of a single girl Paige who works hard (don't we all) and has the perfect and funny assistant who books herself a single vacation because uhmm she is awesome and we all need that. She books herself into this inn that hasn't been functional for a while with a partly grumpy hottie. If one of your 2021 goals was to find love flipping pages then pick this one. The plot is amazing ,the story incredible and hilarious. Loved it! Huge thanks to the publisher for my ARC

Paige sorts out other people's lives for a living. Lucas needs his life sorted out and so does Paige, although she's not cognizant of it. Happy Singles Day is a cute sweet romance that will brighten a reader's day. It showcases two wounded souls who didn't know they needed each other. The frisson between them is palpable and entertaining. I think I enjoyed Sammy the most, especially the scene when Paige is surprised by Lucas in her office. He definitely stole some scenes. Read this book to reinvigorate the idea that there is someone out there for everyone.

Some readers just outgrow their taste on books. Reading this novel is an example.

Five to eight years ago, I would have loved this book. Heck, I even have an unfinished manuscript with a similar premise gathering dust on my bookshelf. Hot widower with a four-year-old daughter meets a single woman nursing a broken heart? Give that to me.

But I guess, I just outgrew my taste in contemporary romance. This book isn't bad; it's just not my cup of tea anymore. The delivery of the story is lukewarm and the main characters are underdeveloped. I would have wanted to see more of Lucas trying to analyze his feelings towards Paige, but that grand gesture in the end threw me off guard. I mean, come on, you've only spent a week with the woman. But hey, I respect those who like that scene. Half a decade ago, I would have loved it too.

Like I said, everything in this book is half-baked. I would have wanted Paige and Lucas to have more interaction with people other than those within their circle. I would have wanted Paige to explore the island while also trying to find herself more than a single career woman -- without Lucas. After all, that's what the title says, right? Instead, I got this cute, cotton-candy love story about two people falling in love within a week.

If you like a light, clean love story similar to Hallmark Christmas movies, then you might enjoy this.

I have to admit, I didn’t love this book when I first started it, but it won me over in the second half of the book and I ended up really enjoying it. There were quite a few sexual comments made within the first couple days of Paige and Lucas meeting each other, and I didn’t love that. I personally prefer closed door romances, and while this did end up being that, the sexual comments made didn’t seem fitting with that.

Maddie absolutely made this book for me. Her interactions with everyone just warmed my heart. The level of sass that that 4 year old had was just amazing and made me laugh out loud multiple times. I think that’s what really turned this book around for me. Once Maddie was more involved, I feel like the story really developed and I understood the connection that Paige and Lucas felt for each other.

This book was such a cute, fun read and I’m really glad I stuck with it. Paige, Lucas, and Maddie are all loveable characters that I enjoyed reading about, as were Sammy and Sophie. I love when a book has strong side characters as well, and Happy Singles Day did not disappoint.

Let me start by saying I wound up really liking this book. I wasn't sure I would, for the first 30% or so, but then things picked up and zipped right along to a wonderful conclusion. It almost seems like the book was started by one author and then switched to a different person.

Lucas and his daughter Maddie live in an old inn on a North Carolina island. The inn is run down and hasn't had guests for a while, as Lucas lost focus after his wife passed away unexpectedly two years prior. It was their dream to run the inn, and he just didn't have the heart to continue.

Paige needs a vacation. She's a business owner, Type A, with very little social or home life. After lots of nudging by her assistant Sammy, she discovers an ad online for the inn, and books a room. She shows up in the middle of a bad storm, sees the inn and its condition, and tries futilely to escape. The ferry has shut down due to weather so she's stuck.

Over the next few days, Paige breaks through Lucas' shell, and in the process, loses some of her Type-A ness. Along the way, they rescue puppies and restore the inn to its glory, falling in love in the process. I don't do spoilers, there are some bumps in the road, so you'll have to read to see if they got their HEA.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

Surprisingly this book turned out to be a PageTurner for me! Dating and finding someone compatible is not so easy as one would believe.
Paige has her own company, successful, pretty and comes across as a reasonable person to get along with. She was hurt before and now she has decided that she doesn’t need a man to make her happy or cloud up her life. A idea of a vacation in a secluded place where she can celebrate Singles Day!

Lucas is the owner of a defunct bed and breakfast. He lives in it with his five year old daughter. He wants nothing to interfere with his life as it is and especially nothing to do with a woman. What is he going to do with Paige when she shows up because his sister rented he the room. Fireworks are going to explode and the oil and water couple are now put in a position where they have to be on the same wavelength to a point.

The author has taken a relevant situation in society and made her characters believable. The choices that Paige & Lucas made were in the best interests of their families and business. These are typical decisions that people make in there lives.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a great book. I also plan to seek out other books by this author.

I received an advanced copy from NetGalley and these are my willingly given thoughts and opinions.

It was a cute story. Honestly there’s nothing that stood out and made me love it though. I thought the ending was way too unrealistic. Also how Lucas suddenly was able to get over the loss of his wife in a few short days.

Cute and sexy, a very funny read that is the Nights of Rodanthe but way better. It was a quick book to get through which I feel shouldn't have been the case if there was more writing on the couple falling in love more. but it was still good.

Slow burn, sweet, heartfelt, feel good romance with the same sweet taste of cheerful, hopeful, chic lit Hallmark movies!

Two heartbroken people’s paths are crossed in a dilapidated inn. Paige Parker is career oriented, married with a job kind of Chicago girl, nursing her feelings after bad breakup from fiancée. And her assistant forces her to take a break to relax in a cozy inn. Paige gets impressed with ads and finally agrees to pay triple to get away from the city during Valentine’s Day.

But when she arrives to the inn she plans to spend her days, she realizes she is cheated by those glamorous photos. The place is real money trap, ramshackle house and the worst part is not spending her money to this sh*t hole! She also meets with the unhappy host who has no idea why she is there! Meet our rude hero Lucas who wants her get the hell out of there ASAP! His sister rented the inn he has closed without his knowledge. He has real financial problems, widow, taking care of his sweet daughter Maddie.

He is still grieving his wife. He is trapped in the small town and as soon as he meets with the charming city girl who annoys the hell of him, awakening so many new feelings he wants to restrain for years, his head gets more confused than before!

And thanks to weather conditions, they stuck in the place together.

This is quiet lovely sweet-soft-swoon-slow burn chic lit with tough, strong heroine you easily relate with.

But I cut some points because there is high sexual tension between the couple but we didn’t receive enough steamy scenes ( actually we get none which is quiet disappointment because when you compare this book with the author’s previous works we can see she can write delicious , too hot to handle love making scenes) and Lucas was unnecessarily douchebag from the beginning who earned several punch-kick-head tossing-pinching- the book boyfriend you called cannot he reached at this moment, please try again later points!

But thankfully his four years old girl was so sweet so I hit my hands who are about to write negative things about the story!

I’m giving three Outer Banks ( you gotta watch the Netflix series with same name !), Hallmarkish, romantic, sweetest stars!
It’s still easy to read, entertaining book! If you need a great holiday novel to lighten up your mood! It’s a great catch for you!

Special thanks to NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca ( I’m specifically thanking the publishers, because their sweet romcoms helped me a lot to get through pandemic mania that I highly appreciated! ) for sharing this reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest opinions.

Book a vacation at a lovely inn.... what could possibly go wrong? Paige is workaholic and with Valentine’s day coming up, has decided to celebrate SAD- or rather, Singles Appreciation Day. She stumbles upon a listing of a very relaxing and cozy inn and decides, to book a vacation! Inn owner and widower, Lucas has closed his inn and is trying to deal with raising his daughter and barely staying above financially. When his sister relists his inn as available and someone actually takes up the offer he is more than a little put off, and so begins our story. This story definitely reminded me of the movie Leap Year (with Matthew Goode and Amy Addams) except rather than the female lead going off to propose to her fiancee, Paige is trying to get over her ex-fiancee, the story includes a cute but grumpy inn-keeper, a tragic past relationship, being forced to stay in a place due to bad weather/no transportation, and helping a business come back into business and of course two people who start off on the wrong foot falling in love with each other. HOWEVER, the big difference here, is that I just could not connect to Lucas as a romance interest... hear me out. Lucas has a dying inn business and a four year old daughter, he knows that he barely has enough to last the next three months, BUT when he gets a customer (Paige) he immediately is... well... an ass. I completely understand that he is dealing with grief and is stressed, but he was just given a payday that would help him manage to stay afloat and he immediately tosses her out the door, sir do you not want to be financially stable and be in business?? I loved Paige, she was tough, caring, and was an overall really nice person. She was considerate and I would have her same reaction if I paid 3x the price for a vacation and when I get there, it looks like a dump and not what I believed I was told or advertised, and the moment I step into the place I am met with a rude person who essentially tells me to gtfo. SOOOOOO, you can see why I had to knock off some points. I loved Paige but Lucas was just not for me. I adored his daughter Maddie and the overall story was sweet and a fun read. So, yes do get check this out if you’re looking for a fun romance read with a grumpy guy and a sweet workaholic.

As a Chicago girl myself, it made me smile to see love after after.
So many parallels in our lives. Paige Parker is a successful 'Chaos Coordinator' - which means not only is she super organized, but she doesn't have time for a vacation...or love. When her assistant
insists on a vacation to the quiet Outer Banks, she agrees. Only after realizing it is the day after Valentine's Day- which is SAD- Singles Appreciation Day. Paige doesn't expect the Copper Lantern Inn to be run down, out of season and the owner to be HOT. Innkeeper, Lucas Croft doesn't expect to be entertaining a guest, much less a high maintenance Chicago exec. He doesn't expect her to be sensitive and sweet underneath either.
Could they both see another side? Could it be a second chance for love?

OCD, overworked and single Paige is forced into a vacation in the Outer Banks at a beautiful B & B. But when she arrives she finds a ramshackle house with a reluctant host, Lucas, a widower raising his daughter has let the B & B slide since his wife’s death. Sparks fly but they live in different parts of the world. Paige’s mother had given up everything to follow her husband and has regretted it. Paige just doesn’t want to end up like her mother so there is no future for them.
I just wasn’t able to empathize with the characters. Fiction is a suspension of disbelief but I still wasn’t able to make sense out of the fact that Lucas was able to pack up and move to Chicago with his daughter after so little communication with Paige. The plot also didn’t engage me. I would not recommend this book to my patrons.

A sweet slow burn story. Paige is a workaholic. Focused on nothing but work. When forced to take a vacation, she ends up at an in. run by Lucas. He is in a weird place since his wife died. Raising his daughter, he is focused on her and nothing else.

This story was sweet. Hallmark movie special. I can see this made into a movie for Hallmark. Especially with the puppies!

Happy Singles Day is a charming story. Lucas is a widower and father to a 4-year-old daughter, and he's barely keeping his head above water. With bills coming due, his sister steps in and rents a room in his bed and breakfast. Without telling him. Paige has dedicated her life to cleaning up other people's messes, quite literally, she's a certified professional organizer. Pushed out the door by her assistant on a forced vacation Paige finds herself stranded on an island with a less than welcoming host in a bed and breakfast that's not exactly as advertised.

This is a very Hallmark-esque story. While Lucas is a widower his grief isn't really a big part of the story, neither is Paige's ex-fiance's infidelity, it is all very low drama despite the tragic backstories. Every time there was a setup for big drama, there wasn't, which I found a little disappointing I was hoping it would make my heart hurt a little bit. I thought that there was some good chemistry in the beginning, but towards the end, it started to lose me a little. It's well written and has really good characters that are relatable. If you're looking for a seriously low drama, fluffy book, with puppies and cute kid, this is definitely for you.

Thankfully, the Happy Singles Day aspect of the book is overall very small. This really is a book about moving on. It’s nothing earth-shattering or heart-wrenching, but there’s chemistry and puppies and organized spice jars. I found myself more charmed as it went on. I was provided with an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishing team for sharing this ARC with me.

The idea of the book was cute but it wasn't a huge page-turner for me. I think the two lacked chemistry; Lucus was too much of a jerk in the beginning.

I liked Lucus, Maddie, and Sohpia and I liked Paige separately. This wasn't really a romantic comedy as it was a Hallmark movie. The pacing was a little too slow for me and there were weird jumps in the epilogue that was confusing. Overall, it was an okay read.
