Another great installment of the Moose Springs series, this time about my personal crush, Easton. When he meets a very determined Hollywood star shooting a documentary, Easton finds himself right in the middle of the action. But, as it turns out, he doesn’t seem to mind too much.

Continuing her lighthearted romp thru a rural Alaskan town, Morgenthaler continues to bring the rom-com goodness to Moose Springs. And I’m here for it. So enjoyable. So fun. And it has so landed a trip to Alaska on my bucket list.

BOOK REVIEW
Enjoy the View by Sarah Morganthaler

Thank you to @sourcebookscasa for my gifted ARC in return for an honest review
PUB Date January 19 2021

Synopsis
This is the third instalment about small town Moose Springs. Tourists beware, Moose Springs is a locals only town and the townies are not happy when a film crew manages shows up on the outskirts of town.
River is an aging actress turned director/producer who is out to prove herself. She desperately wants to complete her documentary but Moose Springs and its townsfolk are making it damn hard.

Easton gets suckered into helping the film crew, and finds himself leading a climbing expedition with them all in tow. River couldn’t be happier, longing for the mountains of home and struggling to find her self after years of playing a part she is jumping at the chance for adventure.

Review
Okay, so I am a sucker for witty dialogue and sarcasm and Morganthaler delivers both with ease. Easton’s big burly bearded persona hides a compassionate man, dedicated to his family, with a sharp wit. River can dish it, take it, and go to bed with it... their relationship is full of sparks.

I would gladly visit Moose Springs- even if it is damn cold, just for a chance to hang out at The Tourist trap, play pool or poker with the guys at the bar, and have Easton teach me to climb :)

What makes this small town trope worth coming back to time and again are the characters, it feels like a place full of my kind of people. Each book in the series has a light, funny, warm spirit that just feels good to read.

A cute, slow burn love story set in a small town with two people who really seem like they fit that “opposites attract” mold. I enjoyed the story, evidenced in the fact that I finished it in 2 days and although its not the steamy romance that I may otherwise gravitate to, I still enjoyed it — probably because I liked the characters, their interactions with each other, and how the story was different because there was the obstacle of love and also traversing a 14,000 foot mountain. I don’t know much about “summiting” a mountain so some of the story got lost on me, and felt like the characters did rush quickly into their love arc, but I still loved the book and will be reading the first two in the series. (Dreaming of spending my winters where I wake up to feet of snow as well!)

Thank you to Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the ARC of Enjoy the View. This is the third book in this series. Each book can be read as a standalone. I really enjoyed reading Easton and River's book! This was a fun, fiery romance! Sarah Morgenthaler did a great job at depicting Alaska, and the small town of Moose Springs. I loved all of the details surrounding the setting. In this book, climbing was a huge focus. This is something that I know nothing about, but the author did a fabulous job of describing the thrill and process of climbing. Overall, I have enjoyed all of these books!

Loved the latest installment of this series! I've really enjoyed getting to know all of the characters of Moose Springs, especially Easton and River! I have actually handsold the other two books in the series to customers in my store and look forward to having this one on our shelves next year! I can't wait to read whatever Sarah Morgenthaler writes next (hopefully very soon)!

Moose Springs, Alaska we meet again! The third novel in the series brings us back to our small town in the Alaskan wilderness with the same set of characters we’ve all come to know and love. We started with The Tourist Attraction with Graham and Zoey, moved on to Mistletoe and Mr. Right with Rick and Lana, and now we’re on to the loveable Easton and his turn to be a main character. As with the previous novels, this one can technically be read as a standalone, but it is best enjoyed when read as part of the series to gain the background of the town and characters. If you can only read one of the previous before reading this one, then I would suggest the first as it gives a more in-depth set-up of the main town and characters.

Easton Lockett is the introverted mountain climber that believes he is aiding a person in need when he picks up River Lane, who seems to be in need of a ride, off the side of the road. However, River is not in need of any help as she is in the middle of filming a scene for her new documentary all about Moose Springs. The misunderstanding begins our tale of the two interacting together where River enlists Easton’s help to film some scenes.

River Lane is a fiery former actress who is now trying her hand at making it behind the camera. Her first major project is to make a documentary all about the town of Moose Springs. However, it is proving to be a challenge due to the reluctance of the town. River must get creative with her filming and ends up focusing on Mount Veil (one of the main mountains surrounding the town).

The majority of this story, therefore, takes place on Mount Veil during the climbing adventure with Easton serving as guide to River’s film crew. Together River and Easton begin to explore their feelings for each other. Not only that, but they also face, as a team, the perils that come with mountain climbing. There are potential disasters around every turn that they must overcome to not only submit the mountain, but also film the shots needed to complete the documentary.

River and Easton have some great banter and they learn to trust each other as the mountain climb forces their hand at times. River does make some questionable decisions that make her seem a little one-dimensional and she doesn’t quite match the complex counterpart that is Easton. I’m not sure if it’s just the way she was written or if it’s just that we’ve come to know Easton through the previous novels, but something didn’t always add up and make me love River as much as the other characters. However, I still greatly enjoyed the relationship that was formed between Easton and River and also loved how all the characters interacted in the story.

Overall, Sarah Morgenthaler’s series about this fictional small town in Alaska has become an automatic on my TBR list. I really hope that we get more tales from Moose Springs in the future! The writing flows well and the story is captivating while being easy to follow. For me, the story was beyond enjoyable and I devoured it in a few hours. The series seems to just keep getting better. My main disappointment mainly came from the lack of Moose Springs in a Moose Springs novel. As the setting is away from the central town, it lost a little of the charm of the first two. I would recommend this novel to anyone who wants a super sweet story that’s also filled with some mountain climbing adventure.

**Thank you to Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the ARC to read. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.**

I unfortunately didn't love this book. I'm wondering if that would have been different if I'd have read the two books prior to this. I don't think it would have made much difference but I could have possible had more of a connection with the various characters in the book.

For some reason, I never bought into River and Easton's love story and found it quite boring. Also, just when you think the book has hit it's climax/"problem" it's solved and another one comes up, and again,

Again, I know people love this series so perhaps you would love it more than me, but I just didn't form a connection to the characters and their love story.

I received a copy of Enjoy the View from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was really wanting and expecting to enjoy this book- I LOVE Alaska and I love climbing! However, I could NOT get into this one. If you like rom-coms, you might like it but I don't think it is anything to write home about. I do want to read the other 2 books in this "series" to see if I develop any different opinion but this one lacked character depth, detail, & it was very predictable/cliche. Unfortunately, I do not recommend it.

Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for the digital copy in exchange for an honest review.

River Lane got too "old" for the film industry - even though she's only 30 - so she decides to prove herselft behind the cameras. The only problem is that people don't seem so willing to give her many opportunities, so she takes what she can get: a documentary about a little town in Alaska called Moose Springs.

Once she gets there, she notices that people do not seem so happy with her crew there and do what they can to stop the documentary from happening. Lucky for her, Easton is willing to help her film the doc and assist her and her crew to survive all those mountains.

Well, I have to say I loved the setting. I think books set in Alaska have a whole vibe that gets me hooked really fast, especially with dialogues as funny as those. The quirky citizens of the town and their actions were also fun to see.

I liked the main characters as well. Easton and River are very different from each other, but the dynamic between them really worked. They were cute together, although I felt there was a lack of chemistry in this couple. So, for me itt was more of a funny book than a romantic book. I enjoyed more the interaction between the characters in general than the romance itself, which is not the best impression for a romantic book. Overall, I think it was a nice read.

Light on romance, heavy on Alaskan mountain climbing adventure scenes, and I'm not mad at it.

This is a great third installment of the Moose Springs, Alaska series if you're really interested in the intricacies of climbing a huge Alaskan mountain. Don't expect too much OTT romance - it's relatively low key but cute. There are a few fun cameos from previous characters in the series, making this feel like a fleshed out world. This series continues to be charming, adorable, and filled with fantastic descriptions of Alaskan scenery.

Another hit by Sarah Morgenthaler! I loved revisiting Moose Springs and reading Easton's story. I enjoy getting to know this town and it's people and I hope there are more to come!

4.5 Stars!

This book had me on the edge of my seat! While I would still call this a romantic comedy, this one had some extra thrills and suspense to it.

I have fallen in love with the quirky town of Moose Springs, Alaska, and Easton has taken my heart. In previous books he was the strong quiet mountain man, but he is just so much more in this book.

“Whiskey. She reminded me of Fireball whiskey... sweet and smooth but spicy and strong as hell. Trouble bottled up and far too tempting to reach for. Liable to burn him up from the inside out.”

The way that Easton views River is just swoony. River has the opportunity to create a tourism documentary about Moose Springs, and she ends up finding her true self along the way. These are my favorite types of heroines. They are strong, sassy and they are going to change the world.

“She’d always lived her life for the endgame. The job, the career, the summit. But as she considered his words, River couldn’t help the curving of her lips. Maybe this time, the best part would be getting there.”

Enjoy the View by Sarah Morgenthaler takes us back to the charming and tourist-hating town of Moose Springs, Alaska in her third book of the series. This story follows Easton Lockett who requires all his mountain-climbing expertise to help River Lane, former actress, and current director of an Alaska tourism board film as they travel up the treacherous peak of Mount Veil.

I thought it was interesting of Morgenthaler to set this third book almost entirely on the mountain rather than in town, though many familiar faces pop up as River and her friends/production crew try to film in and around the town. Most of them causing all sorts of havoc and headache for River, to some hilarious results. Since the town is being so unhospitable to their efforts, River enlists Easton to help take her up the mountain so she can get some real shots of the Alaskan landscape.

Despite being against more tourists coming to his beloved town, Easton agrees to help River and I loved that Morgenthaler showed him being serious about the dangers of hiking a 14,000 foot mountain, even in the height of summer. Though it may seem small, the mountain is an environment in and of itself and not to be taken lightly.

I liked the chemistry between Easton and River and I also genuinely believed they liked each other which is a tricky thing to pull off sometimes, even in romantic novels. I look forward to more in this series and I especially hope there will be a reappearance of a certain furred animal who may or may not have stolen the book for me.

Note: I received a copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

After every book in the Moose Springs series, I just want to pack my bags and go to Alaska. This book was no different. And now I also want to learn how to rock climb!
I've been waiting for Easton's story, and I loved seeing him in his natural element - the mountains. The chemistry between him and River is obvious from the very beginning (maybe a bit TOO obvious, considering he doesn't show his feelings very often, even to his closest friends). But I did think it was true to his character that River ended up not being a stereotypical Hollywood starlet, but a down to earth country girl with a shiny exterior.

I thought this book was a pretty quick read, keeping me engaged and interested, in a way that Mistletoe and Mr. Right couldn't. I would love to have one more book in this universe, to see Ash get her HEA.

I'd recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed The Tourist Attraction or the small town romance trope.

Unfortunately, this series wasn't really for me. I think my main issue was that it's a romcom, but the humour really didn't work for me. This installment was probably my least favourite in the series, because I liked the setting less in this installment as well and I found it a little boring.

I just finished Book Two in this series and couldn't wait to start reading this one as soon as possible! I must say that Enjoy the View is even better - unlike its predecessor, it didn't feel too long, and both the romance and humor aspects went up through the roof.

The continuity in this series is just right: you can easily read these books out of order and as stand-alone, but you still see the familiar characters to a small degree. In Enjoy The View, the main male character is the familiar sweet guy Easton (I knew it! He was way too sweet and inconspicuous to never be seen again.) And then there's a new character River who is trying to film a documentary about the Alaskan wilderness... only she has no experience in this area a needs a nice local to help her.

I loved both of the characters, which in my opinion is a crucial criterion in how enjoyable a romance novel is. If you're rooting for one and kinda hating the other, it's not it. But here, ah! River is such a badass actress-turn-documentary-maker not afraid of any roadblocks. And then there's our beloved Easton, a nice guy, gentle yet sexy, totally being pushed out of his comfort zone by River. What a combo!

But most importantly, I can't begin to tell you how much I laughed while reading this atmospheric, cozy rom-com. The comedy part is always great with this author, and this is no exception.

There's something about Sarah Morgenthaler's writing that hits all my sweet spots. It's smartly humorous, engaging, and I find myself effortlessly caught up in whatever story she's trying to tell me. This is the good stuff.

Add to that these irresistibly charming characters, this quirky small town, and a dash of thrilling adventure?

Well, I just might be addicted.

That said, as charmed as I was by the writing and parts of the storyline, this wan't a perfect reading experience for me. I struggled a bit with River, and many of her choices. I would not go so far as to say I disliked her, because in the end I rather liked her a great deal. But there were moments where I sort of wanted to throttle her. She was a little selfish, a little reckless, and while I enjoyed the way it kicked up the adventure threads of the storyline -- it also made it a little bit difficult to invest in her love story.

And I'm a little disappointed by that because I went into this story already halfway in love with Easton. I'm still in love with Easton. What's not to love about a growly, bearded, alpha-protective, reluctant hero?

Yum.

And please don't get me wrong - Easton and River were adorable together. I really did enjoy falling in love with them as they fell in love with each other. There were moments I couldn't control the beaming smile on my face because this author really knows how to kick up the adorableness and infuse it with swoon. It was absolutely worth the read -- it was just missing a little something that would have put it at "next level" for me.

Worth noting - I read the first book in this series, but not the second, before I picked this book up. I didn't feel like I missed anything substantial, and had no trouble following along. However I do think that it would have been more difficult if I had not read the first book at least. In any case, if you haven't been introduced to Moose Springs, Alaska yet - I promise you won't be disappointed! ~ Shelly, 3.5 Stars

When you thought nothing could top the Santa Moose, the third book set in your favorite fictional Alaskan town enters the fray with a lovesick Marmot! Enjoy The View is the third standalone book in Sarah Morgenthaler’s Moose Springs, Alaska series. Here, our favorite Alaskan giant gets his own romantic headache in the form of redheaded River Lane. Actress turned director/producer for a documentary set in the not so friendly to tourists town of Moose Springs. The marmot comes in later and steals the spotlight from these two. Easton and River’s romantic journey has them literally climbing a mountain. The sparks are strong, the potential frostbite is stronger but nothing can stop these two from summitting Mount Veil and falling in love. I loved Enjoy the View! I adored the first two books and didn’t think anything can top them but these series just keeps getting better. It is funny and witty, sweet and sexy. Easton and River’s moments together are all funny and sexy but their personal situations lends that all eternal question authenticity, how do we make this love story work out in the end. Enjoy the View has all the elements I love in small town romances with realistic situations thrown in that makes it more interesting. It also makes you want to visit Moose Springs and meet everyone that makes this town so special.

You know how when you watch Hallmark movies and it makes you want to move to a small town and start saving small family businesses? Or when you watch the Great British Bake Off and it makes you want to start learning how to knead and prove bread? The Moose Springs, Alaska series makes you feel like you want to move there, be a grumpy townsperson complaining about tourists and become best friends with every main character there’s been.

These books make you feel like you’re home.

Enjoy the View is a wonderful addition to the series. The sparks are flying immediately, the banter is top tier, the tension makes you want to scream “KISS ALREADY”. I’ve loved Easton from his first appearance and I couldn’t have asked for a better romance for him.

Sarah Morgenthaler's books are a metaphorical breath of fresh air and if I can imagine the Alaskan landscape well enough that feels literally true as well. I love Moose Springs and it quintessential small town charm with tourists run amok. Even if small towns and nature aren't your thing you'll come to appreciate what the Moose Springs series has to offer.
This is the third book in the series and by no means do you need to read them in order, but there are easter eggs for previous books for those of us who've kept up with the series. As the third book in the series I knew what to expect and was pleasantly surprised by much of Easton's story. Overall, this one wasn't my favorite of the Moose Springs trilogy but I enjoyed the literal mountain climbing regardless.
