Returning to Moose Springs, alaska is always a fun time and when the main male lead is a grump I AM HERE FOR IT!! We met Easton back in the first book and he is the quiet guy who doesn't have a lot to say. While driving home he sees a woman on the side of the road pulling a suitcase behind here, doing the right thing Easton pulls over to help but instead gets yelled out for ruining her shot. I loved the first meeting between Easton and River, who is an actress turned producer and doing a documentary on Moose Springs. Since the town is blocking any filming , River hires Easton to take her and her camera crew up Mount Veil. I loved the parts of the story that deals with climbing the mountain and how it helped the relationship between the two grow. My only complaint about the book was that at times I found River's character to be overly stubborn, because she is an accomplished climber she doesn't take all of Easton's warnings seriously and it really frustrated me. This series is one of my favorites and I am so glad we get another book about Easton's Twin Ashtyn! Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for my gifted copy for review!!!

The last couple of chapters of this book gave me all the cute Moose Springs moments I was looking for. I loved the ending for this couple. But, I had a real problem with the rest of it. This 3 star is more like, "I was going to give it two but the end left me happy", which at the end of the day, is really all I'm looking for.

The heroine in this book, River, is 1000% my least favorite type of heroine. She's driven and looking to succeed, she's strong and knows what she can do, all things I love. But, she's also the type of person that thinks she can do anything and knows better than the professionals telling her that maybe she doesn't know everything. She's this way to the point of recklessness. At several points in this book she causes some kind of problem because she refuses to follow instructions. And, like, cool, you're a skilled climber, awesome. But, that doesn't mean that when the person that does this for a living tells you you shouldn't do something, you get to just ignore it.

This is definitely a "it's not you, it's me" situation. This particular character trait is one I cannot get over.

I haven't even talked about the hero or the plot of this book. That's how mad I spent a lot of my time reading this book. I think I'm just gonna walk away now before I change that rating to a two. But, hey, if you like cute mountain men, weird but funny animal encounters, and River's character traits don't make you ragey, please go ahead and read this book.

Let's just call this a 2.75 star and walk away.

I've been having so much fun reading Sarah Morgenthaler's Moose Springs series. I liked Mistletoe and Mr. Right, the second book, a bit more than The Tourist Attraction, the first, and I liked Enjoy the View a bit more than that! I don't know if it's because I'm loving the town more the more I read about it or there was something about Easton and River's story that really drew me in. No matter the reason, I enjoyed reading it!

Here's the synopsis:
A grouchy mountaineer, a Hollywood starlet
And miles of untamed wilderness...
What could possibly go wrong?

Former Hollywood darling River Lane's acting career is tanking fast. Determined to start fresh behind the camera, she agrees to film a documentary about the picturesque small town of Moose Springs, Alaska. The assignment should have been easy, but the quirky locals want nothing to do with River. Well, too bad: River's going to make this film and prove herself, no matter what it takes.
Or what (literal) mountain she has to climb.
Easton Lockett may be a gentle giant, but he knows a thing or two about survival. If he can keep everyone in line, he should be able to get River and her crew up and down Mount Veil in one piece. Turns out that's a big if. The wildlife's wilder than usual, the camera crew's determined to wander off a cliff, and the gorgeous actress is fearless. Falling for River only makes Easton's job tougher, but there's only so long he can hold out against her brilliant smile. When bad weather strikes, putting everyone at risk, it'll take all of Easton's skill to get them back home safely...and convince River she should stay in his arms for good.

As usual, I was both frustrated and understanding of how the residents of Moose Springs were treating River. They need the tourists to be able to stay financially viable but they also want absolutely nothing to do with them. So, they treat River pretty terribly. She, like I, can't quite understand why they don't want their town overrun with tourists so her enthusiasm rubs them all the wrong way. I don't think they need to be assholes though and I felt the same as I did when Lana was butting heads with the entire town as well. And there's even a quick scene with Zoey, the heroine from the first book, is "othered" and treated like an out of towner. Graham may be head over heels in love with her but it's like it physically pains and sickens him that she didn't grow up there. It's the strangest thing.

I've never had the urge to climb mountains. I could barely get my spindly arms to cooperate during rock climbing week in gym class during high school. (I haven't tried it as an adult but since I seem to have developed a fear of heights, I figure I probably shouldn't give it a go.) But. That doesn't mean that I was uninterested in the story as Easton, River, and her team climbed Mount Veil. (Which, as I'm realizing as I'm writing this...doesn't actually exist.) The mountain climbing took up a longer portion of the book than I expected (and maybe a touch too long and technical) and there was a lot of drama. Like absolutely terrifying and I-was-afraid-for-their-lives kind of drama. It added to the suspense of the building romance between River and Easton. It was like climbing the mountain was a giant, long foreplay session. And that was not a bad thing! I remembered that Morgenthaler keeps everything other than kissing behind very closed doors so I liked that the pair flirted and teased each other. It was so fun and sweet to read.

Speaking of love stories. There's a marmot that follows Easton and the group when they're climbing the mountain. It is the most ridiculous thing but I absolutely adored it. Because why not have a rodent fall in love with a tall, bearded mountain man. Honestly, I can't explain how hilarious and adorable it was.

Even though the Moose Springs series hasn't WOW-ed me, I've been having a lot of fun reading Sarah Morgenthaler's novels. Enjoy the View has been my favourite so far and I definitely recommend reading it (and the rest of the books) if you want to armchair travel to Alaska. They're funny and sweet and the small town feel is so great to read (especially for this small town girl). I do hope there will be another book - I want to see Ash, Easton's twin sister, get her love story too!

This book took a bit for me to get into it but once I hit about halfway I couldn't put it down.

River wasn't exactly the most likeable character but after getting to know her and her struggle, she grew on me. There was a few moments where she annoyed me a bit but Easton brought it back. It was so great to see him take centerstage after the last two books in the series. It was also fun to see some of the characters we'd met earlier in the series.

Title: Enjoy The View
Author: Sarah Morgenthaler
Publisher: Sourcebooks Casablanca
@sourcebookscasa

‘Enjoy The View’ is the third book in the Moose Spring series that I’ve read by this author. The first book is The Tourist Attraction and the second book is Mistletoe and Mr. Right. However, in my opinion, this book was drastically different. It was missing the silly and playful storylines the other two had and had a much more serious tone.

River Lane (🙄) is a former Hollywood darling, but now her career is in a downward swing. Determined to revive things, she agrees to film a documentary in the small picturesque town of Moose Springs. The assignment should be easy, but unfortunately the town wants nothing to do with her. Well, River doesn’t give up that easily. Determined, she hires mountaineer, Easton Locket, to get her and her crew up and down Mount Veil in one piece.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Barely. I honestly couldn’t stand River’s character. And I didn’t think her and Easton had great chemistry. The Alaska wilderness and mountain climbing is freaking dangerous, so this was all kind of out there for me. This book was missing all of the usual town secondary characters we’ve grown to love. I’ve read three books by this author and think she is talented, but desperately needs help with editing. For this genre, I find her books to be way too long with too much unnecessary dialogue.

Thank you to Netgalley and Sourcebooks for honoring my request to read and review this title. Today is publication day for this title if you are interested in picking yourself up a copy and traveling to Alaska! 😉

This one I kind of LOVED quite a bit. I am a huge fan of rugged, woodsy types. I don't like the whole "Hollywood goes to the woods" writing style; I think it's boring as everyone writes about this narrative. But if you take that out and focus on the pair, it is charming. I am in love with Easton, and I think this book will make you in love with him too.

I've enjoyed this series since the first book and really loved this book in the series. I loved the new characters and the old from the previous books. I loved the setting once again and thought this book was a fast paced read.

This book was cute. It is the third in a series, but all are very independent and don’t need to be read as a series. I liked the characters, I just felt like certain scenes were so drawn out when they could be shorter and vice versa. It was a cute read but probably not something I’d recommend or read again.

Enjoy the View is the third book in the Moose Springs, Alaska series. The books can be read as a stand-alone but truthfully, they are so good you will want to read them all anyways. The author’s style of writing brings the story alive and you feel like you are part of it. Moose Springs is a small town in Alaska and most of the locals don’t want tourists coming to their small town. Especially a film crew for the Alaskan Tourism Board!
Hollywood actress River Lane was about to turn thirty years old and she finally has her chance to produce a film and she’s not letting anything get in her way. When the locals in Moose Spring won’t cooperate, she jumps on the suggestion of her crew filming while they climb Mount Veil.
Easton Lockett knew the locals would never assist River and he wanted to help her. He was a professional climber but taking River and her crew up the mountain was a challenge, especially with the attraction between the two of them.
This series has been so funny, and I found myself laughing all through this book. The critters were so amusing, and the characters were very entertaining. I think this book has become my favorite and I can see myself reading it again in the future. I can’t wait to see what the author will come up with next.

I really enjoyed the first two books but this one felt flat from the very beginning. I got to about 15% and realized I found this book incredibly boring. The author gave me no reason to care or be invested in either of the characters. So I DNFed.

Just finished the third book in this series by Sarah Morganthaler- Enjoy the View.

I love anything set in Alaska and I have really enjoyed every book in this series. While they all contain the same set of characters, each couples story has had a uniquely different feel to it which has kept it interesting.

In Enjoy the View, we follow Easton and River. River is an actress turned director who has taken on the task of filming a documentary about Moose Springs. Unbeknownst to her, the citizens of Moose Springs are extremely protective of their town and their privacy. River quickly learns that the townspeople will make it impossible for her to film the town itself. Desperate not to fail, River decides to pivot and film climbing a local mountain instead. She enlists the help of a guide to help her and her crew up the mountain. Guess who that turns out to be? Local climbing expert- Easton. The book follows their journey to the top of Mount Vail and their undeniable chemistry. This one is a slow burn for sure but I honestly couldn’t put it down. Not only did I love these two, but the information about the climb itself was so dang interesting. Definitely recommend this whole series to anyone who loves contemporary romance and the gorgeous setting of the Alaskan wilderness.

Probably my least favorite book of the series but still good. I enjoyed the banter between the characters and they sexy mountain climber. Didn’t love all the climbing stuff. Wanted more cameos from previous characters in series.

Another great book to the Moose Springs series. The characters kept me laughing and I flew through this book, reading it in one sitting. I love the attitude of River and how she's not a fan of Easton in the beginning. I love how he wins her over. If you're looking for sweet romance, here's the book for you!

Thank you Negalley, Sourcebooks, and Sarah Morgenthaler for an ARC of Enjoy the View in exchange for an honest review.

Enjoy the View takes us back to Moose Springs and this time we get Easton's story. River Lane's acting career is not going well so she heads to Moose Springs with her small team to make a documentary for the tourism board about the town. Unfortunately no one in Moose Springs will cooperate because they're not fond of tourists.

River runs into Easton while trying to film on the side of the road. When even this doesn't work, River and her team decide to film the climb of Mt. Veil. Despite River's experience climbing, she has no idea what she's getting her and her team into.

I really enjoyed this series. I wish Enjoy the View had a few more moments of Moose Springs, but I loved the brief interactions with Graham and Zoey, Lana and Rick, and especially Jake! I love that each book has a sweet animal of some sort. The marmot/Easton moments were adorable and hilarious. This series has been so sweet.

River is tough like Lana and used to being an independent woman. I love that she will not simply give up her life for Easton, but they both compromise to build a life together. I loved how brave River was. There is no way I'd be brave or skilled enough to do a climb like she did. River and Easton find each other quickly which I'm not always a fan of, fun I think Morgenthaler does this so well. Her characters really just seem like they are meant to be.

After reading all three of the Moose Springs books, i'm a huge Sarah Morganthaler fan and will read anything she writes.

4.5 stars rounded up

I will share the link as soon as i share to my bookstagram page.

I’d be lying if I said this wasn’t the book I’ve been anticipating the most in the Moose Springs, Alaska series. To me, Easton was THE character that I couldn’t wait to see get their HEA. Big, bearded, gruff, loyal Easton.

Turns out his HEA shows up in Moose Springs looking to film a documentary for the Tourism Board and hoping to revive her career. She and Easton meet when she is walking down the side of the road trying to film and he pulls up offering her a ride. River Lane is an outsider and as readers have seen over the course of this series, the one thing Moose Springs residents don’t care for is tourists and outsiders. Even if they do keep falling in love with them.

I really enjoyed River and Easton’s romance. They had this chemistry that just jumped off the page right from the beginning. Their back and forth sass and witty banter was so fun and kept me turning pages. They just seemed so right for each other. Then they went up a mountain to film and their love story just bloomed. *happy sigh*

There were times I wanted to yell at River for her obviously stupid decisions. So many stupid, dangerous decisions while up on that mountain, but I will say I will remember the scene where she and Easton summitted for a good long while. And I really liked the shape their HEA took. It worked for both of them and for me as a reader.

I just read on the author’s website that there will be a fourth book in the series featuring Easton’s sister, Ashtyn, and this makes me so happy. (And I think she is being paired with Killian, which makes me just about ecstatic.)

Enjoy the View is my favorite of the series so far and I happily recommend.

Welcome back to Moose Springs, Alaska! Thank you Sourcebooks and Netgalley for the free copy to review. Enjoy The View should come with a warning - maybe something like those old commercials “we’ll sell you the whole seat but you’ll only need the edge!!” Or a warning like the sign before a rollercoaster, warning to take caution if you have any medical conditions. Or even something more straightforward like “be warned this romance comes with some intense situations that will make your heart race and not in the steamy/swoony way! 😉”

River is a Hollywood actress who has been trying to make the shift to directing. It isn’t going so well and she’s been struggling to get a project. When she finally gets one - she takes off with two trusted coworkers to make a documentary about Moose Springs, Alaska. Only they don’t realize the town doesn’t want more tourists and they are shut down at every turn.

Eventually they realize their only option is to make a documentary about climbing the Old Man - a dangerous but not very well known mountain. They can show people why they need to visit and won’t need help of the locals - except their mountaineer guide, Easton. Easton is 6’6”, bearded with a man bun and the sparks immediately fly between Easton and River.

They all know there are risks in climbing the mountain - crevasses to fall in, avalanches and hypothermia just to name a few. The second half of this book had my heart racing and I was glad to be reading from the warm and cozy comfort of my home. Don’t start the second half of this book until you have time to finish because you won’t want to put it down!

I have found myself enjoying each book in this series more and more. There is something about Sarah Morgenthaler's writing that just keeps me engaged. It is a guilty pleasure, a smartly humorous rom-com that hits all the right spots.

Say hello to my favorite of this series! I absolutely adored the story of Easton and River. They’re so funny and sweet, and I loved every moment!

After having read the previous two books in this series, it felt like coming home to Moose Springs again, but this time on a mountain in subzero temperatures and a tent. What’s not to love? If you’re not familiar, the Moose Springs series involves a small town in Alaska, a town whose residents despise tourists. They have some “grumpy” (but actually just rugged and secretly sweet) male leads and some hilarious and strong female companions. Alaska is high on my traveling wishlist, and when you couple that with a small town romcom, it’s perfection.

This one has the adventure of climbing a mountain, the sweetness of two unlikely people falling for one another, the small town feel we love in Moose Springs, an endearing animal to love, and a calming writing style that leaves you feeling good.

This is the first book I've read from Sarah and when I saw the cover I loved it and thought I wonder if that guy with the beard and manbun is meant to be Jason Momoa. Then I started reading and all I could picture was Jason as Easton lol.

I loved this book from start to finish and I now want to read the other books in this series.

I loved Easton & River alot. The story was such a romantic, sassy and fun.. Just what you want in a book. I loved how they were witty, sarcastic and flirty together.

Enjoy the View is yet another delightful and humorous excursion to Moose Springs, Alaska. We’re treated with a reappearance of Graham and Zoey from the first book, and it’s adorable to see how smitten they still are with each other.

Easton and River have a similar dynamic. Their attraction is almost immediate, despite the awkward circumstances of how they first meet. They both have a peculiar way of speaking with each other, and as the novel progresses it becomes more and more clear just how unique and perfect they are for each other. Even the secondary characters take notice of their undeniable chemistry. I was pretty excited to read this book after finding out that Easton would be starring in it. We first met him in Tourist Attraction, and he’s a solitary, quiet man who prefers nature over people. Watching him fall in love was quite humorous and sweet and even better than I was hoping!

Morgenthaler has a beautiful writing style, and the way that she describes the town and the surrounding wildlife is definitely a major draw for this series. I do recommend this book series to those who enjoy stories with a strong sense of place. As Easton, River, and the rest of the crew were exploring the wildlife as they climbed the mountain, I found I could see the events unfolding in front of me. While descriptions of the scenery are beautiful, they’re not overdone and they don’t overtake the story.

Enjoy the View starts off a little slow, but it picks up around a quarter of the way through the book. This novel doesn’t read quite as humorously as the previous books in the series, BUT when jokes are made, they land a lot harder. I was giggling out loud more than a few times while reading this book.

I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of suspense in this novel. There’s a lot of excitement that arises while the film crew is climbing the mountain, and I have to say that this really added to my enjoyment of the book. It definitely didn’t make me want to climb a mountain near Moose Springs, however. I’ll stay at sea level, thank you very much.

If you’ve read my reviews of the previous two books in this series (or of the Bromance Book Club series), you know that I’m a sucker for rom coms with cute animals. Like the previous instalments in this series, this book delivers on this front! While they’re climbing the mountain, we’re introduced to a chatty marmot that takes a liking to Easton, viewing him as her love interest. There’s nothing cuter than a tiny lovelorn critter stalking a large human in the wilderness.

There were a couple of little things that did require a little bit of a suspension of disbelief. For instance–how come they didn’t have a Go Pro/ camera that they could mount to their heads? They had a handheld camera, and it seemed kind of foolish on their part (especially since they had to buy so much equipment, like double-paneled tents, for the excursion). Fortunately, Easton comments on this later in the book, which made me feel a little relieved that it wasn’t completely overlooked.

Like the previous books in this series, Enjoy the View has the theme of falling in love with a place, not just a person. It seems like every time a tourist comes to Moose Springs, Alaska, they find a piece of themselves as they get to know the people, the environment, and the way of life.

I recommend this book to those who are looking for a light and humorous escape, one with just a hint of suspense, plenty of witty dialogue, and an infatuated marmot.
