Enjoy The View by Sarah Morgenthaler is the third book in the Moose Spring, Alaska series. I read the previous book in the series which was "Mistletoe and Mr. Right". This one is love story between a Mountaineer and a Hollywood Actress.

Former Hollywood darling River Lane's acting career is tanking fast. Determined to start fresh behind the camera, she agrees to film a documentary about the picturesque small town of Moose Springs, Alaska.

Easton Lockett may be a gentle giant, but he knows a thing or two about survival. If he can keep everyone in line, he should be able to get River and her crew up and down Mount Veil in one piece. Turns out that's a big if.

Her books are super fun, filled with very appropriate amount of Humor and also light hearted feel good romance. The characters are fun to read about. Their flirty and sassy nature totally went in the perfect lane for this book. I highly recommend you to try this out.

This book gave me a serious book hangover! I can't stop thinking about it and wishing that I could just read it again.

Moose Springs has become one of my favorite book settings and Morgenthaler is quickly becoming a favorite author.

This book has everything you could ever ask for. Moments of suspense and terror as they adventure up a mountain in Alaska, hilarious moments as River gets to know the town and people in it, romance and steam between the main characters and previous , and my favorite - tons of banter between Easton and River.

This book's adventure was so good. I felt like it had the perfect balance of technical terminology with explanations where I needed it - though I would strongly advise watching some footage in youtube to see what they are talking about. My students recently read about this type of climbing and we showed them a video and the visual was in my head as I read.

But what really made this book fantastic was River and Easton's relationship. I loved all of their interactions and I really liked how much they had in common.

I cannot wait for another book in this series!

I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. This is my honest review

Third book in the Moose Springs series and again, Morgenthaler hits it out of the park. Laugh out loud moments, sweet, romcom. Perfect quick read. I read books in order so I would definitely recommend reading the other two prior but I'm sure it would make sense if you didn't.

The characters were fabulous. I connected with them immediately and was rooting for them.

Moose Springs, Alaska = LOVE

i’ve enjoyed reading this series of books, getting a different look at different characters and who they are, the choices they make. i love getting to know different characters in the same world because it creates a bigger picture, it connects the characters we have already met and makes it more real for the reader!

Enjoy the View is another amazing book that published this week! It is the third book in the Moose Springs, Alaska series and it was by far my favorite of all three books!

Easton Lockett is a sweet teddy bear stuck inside the body of Jason Momoa. He may seem grouchy, but he is fiercely loyal and charmingly protective. As a lifelong resident of Moose Springs, Easton loves mountain climbing and makes a living guiding tourists on expeditions up Mount Veil. Easton is not prepared for guiding River Lane, a famous actress turned documentary producer and her crew up to the summit of Mount Veil to help save her career. He also doesn’t expect any feelings to grow for the woman who irritates yet amazes him.

In The Tourist Attraction and Mistletoe and Mr. Right, I loved seeing Easton as a brother and a friend, but it was so amazing when he had his own story! I loved Easton and River’s love story and I think they are so perfectly matched, but the mountain climbing expedition is what absolutely made this book for me! I could feel the biting wind, the exhaustion and lack of oxygen, the dangers, and the extreme grit needed to scale Mount Veil. I became completed fascinated with mountain climbing and even put the book down many times to Google mountains like Denali and Mount Everest and what it takes to climb them.

For me, this book had an amazing love story, but also a secondary storyline that made the romance even better! If you have read The Tourist Attraction or Mistletoe and Mr. Right, please make sure you pick up Enjoy the View! If you haven’t read this series, I highly recommend that you do!

I have been looking forward to Easton Lockett's story ever since I read The Tourist Attraction last summer! And I am pleased to report that I was not disappointed in the least. I also loved that the characters from the previous two books popped up here and there in this book... I just love the gang from Moose Springs!

Easton Lockett is a man of few words, with a tough exgerior, a big heart, and is passionate about what he loves. I seriously want to get wrapped up in one of those rare, big, Easton hugs! River Lane is one fiesty, driven, and stubborn chick. I absolutely loved them together and that spitfire chemistry between them. I was hooked from that kooky meet-cute!

Can we take a moment to acknowledge Morgenthaler's use of random animals in each book! The marmot was a show-stealer! I also found myself really fascinated by the moutain climbing aspect of the book. Morgenthaler painted some beautiful scenes of nature and I can't even imagine that beauty in real life!

It's always fun to read something set in Alaska, and this rom com style story was interestingly set in the context of climbing a mountain! I didn't know I would be so fascinated by the mountain climbing.

River Lane wants to resurrect her career in Hollywood but not as the hot shot actor she used to be. She is taking her lead behind a film documentary in Moose Springs, Alaska. The problem is that she has been banned from filming in town. The folks aren’t too keen on her being there. They just don’t know that River is not going to let that stop her. She is going to climb her mountain and get as much footage as possible.

Easton is a reclusive mountain man who has lived in Moose Springs his entire life. He works for his family tour adventure company. He finds himself helping River and her two-man crew for the trip up the mountain. He has his own opinions of her but they quickly change when he sees that she is this strong spirited woman.

This is listed as a rom-com but the comedy is off. I didn’t find the humor in this one as much. The author set up scenes that should have been funny but somehow, they fell short and missed the mark. Once a person tries too hard to be funny, they are no longer funny. Also, the romance is very slow. The author tells the readers that there is some attraction between Easton and River but fails to show it. I found them more as friends than lovers.

What did save the story is the 3rd main character (Alaska). I love the backdrop and setting for the book. I definitely want to add Alaska to my bucket list. The description is so vivid and I found myself visualizing River and Easton in each scene. I can tell that the author has spent some time outdoors as the safety description is very detailed.

Ultimately, the romance needed to be a bit more stronger in this one in order for me to love.

I enjoyed this! I skipped over book 2 in the series, but enjoyed this much more than book 1 (which is saying something since I really liked book 1 as well). The treacherous mountain climb made this one feel like a really high stakes story and a little more serious (the marmot, though). Getting to know Easton better and meeting River was quite fun, and I enjoyed their story.

This book read fast and kept me engaged from the beginning. There was action, beautiful scenery, likable characters, some learning (about mountain climbing), humor, romance, friendship, and personal growth. I loved it!

It is always a pleasure to visit Moose Springs, AK. This is the third book in the series and I have read and enjoyed them in order. Though this could be read as a standalone (each storyline is separate), I believe you will enjoy the series more if you read them in order. That way, you'll appreciate the fun cameos of the characters that are in each book.

River is new to Moose Springs. She's a Hollywood actress who would like to get on the other side of the camera. She has been hired by the state to create a tourism video for Moose Springs. Except Moose Springs doesn't want a video. They like being a town of locals and are doing whatever they can to stop the video.

Local guide Easton gets roped into helping River and her crew. If they can't film the town, maybe they can film an ascent of nearby Mount Veil . Here's where the book is a little different from the last two- a good portion of the action is climbing the mountain. I loved all the technical climbing descriptions. I also loved learning more about Easton and River and what climbing means to them. The climb becomes practically a quest for River. And there is an adorable marmot along for the journey.

4.5 stars!

Thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for an advance digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was worried I wouldn't enjoy this as much as the other Moose Springs books because it was focused on climbing a mountain. Honestly, it sounded kind of boring to me.

But I was wrong, of course. It was just as fun and sweet and adorable as the other two books. Even though bearded men with man buns aren't my thing, the book was still great!

This was definitely my favorite of the series so far! This entire series is a little out there and over the top, but I've really enjoyed reading about the quirky town.
I actually liked that this installment spent less time in the town itself and instead explored the wilderness of Alaska. I loved the climbing aspect to this story and thought it made for a really engaging read. I definitely found myself bracing during some of the more intense moments!
I really like the new characters and was absolutely swooning over Easton. The marmot portions were ridiculously but definitely made me chuckle.
I do wish we got to see more romance between the main characters. Since the focus of this was more of the climbing excursion, we didn't get to see quite as much of their romantic development as I would have liked. This was definitely a very PG romance.
But overall I had a really good time reading this, and will definitely continue to read more from this author.

4.5 stars = I loved it! Would re-read.

What a laugh-riot! I read a lot of romance, and many of them are categorized as "romantic comedies," but there are only a few that have actually made me laugh, loud and often. And this series is one of them.

I loved the main characters in this one. Easton has been intriguing from the first book, and I loved getting a better sense of him through this story. He and his twin sister are probably my favorite characters in the series. I loved Easton with River.

The danger of the mountain was a new factor in this series - tons more suspense than in the earlier two books. The early parts of the climb got a little old for me, but when the danger and suspense kicked up, I was flipping pages frantically to the very end. Series fans should not miss this one! I think newcomers could start the series here without any issues.

I have been (not so patiently) waiting for Easton's story and I was so excited to get this ARC from NetGalley.

Easton Lockett is your average strong but silent type and has showed up in Sarah's previous novels as a supporting character, but now he gets his time to shine when a film crew comes into town.

River Lane is an actress whose career is taking a bit of a nosedive and she is testing the waters as a director. But she's being met with some resistance from the townsfolk in Moose Springs, Alaska. After being denied permit after permit to film in town, she and her crew decide to take on the Old Man (what locals call Mount Veil) and Easton is their climbing guide.

I loved River and Easton as a couple and their banter back and forth. This one has been my favorite of the Moose Springs series so far!

I did try really hard to like this book but I could not. I did not realize at the time that I requested that it was the third book in a series. I could easily look past it since, usually romance series can be read out of order without getting spoilers. That aside, I could not get into the book. The premise seemed interesting however, there was not much explanations as to why the town of Moose Springs are so against tourists in the area. A brief summary or comments by the characters would have sufficed but it looks like I needed to read the previous books in the series.

On to the plot. River I found a character hard to like. I did not feel Easton and River had any chemistry. I felt that it was just two people who had to be together because the author chose for it to be that way. Very disappointing read.

I want to start out this review by letting you know that this book disappointed me. In preparation for reading this book, I decided to pick up the companion stories that come before this one. You don’t have to, since the stories aren’t continuations of one another, but that’s what I decided to do. I liked Easton from the moment I met him in book one. He was a quiet, gentle, mountain man, and I looked forward to his story. Unfortunately, I don’t think this story did him justice.

This book follows Easton Lockett as he’s hired by a film crew, led by a feisty actress named River, to make a documentary about climbing a mountain just outside of the town of Moose Springs. I would recommend not reading the synopsis, because it mentions things that first occur halfway through the book. It also spoils you for the only bit of action that happens in this story.

Since I had read the first two books in this series, I knew that they were more slice of life stories, and generally, I love those kinds of stories! But quite honestly, this book bored me. At first, before they started climbing the mountain, I was okay with the more mundane actions and scenes that were going on, but I expected there to be more action when climbing the mountain. After all, Easton kept talking about how dangerous it was! I was expecting things to go wrong. I was expecting to start feeling something towards this book, other than it was just okay following these characters.

Unfortunately, that never happened. Part of the issue is that the climb didn’t even start until about 45% through the book. That’s waaaay too much exposition for a book that’s supposed to feature a mountain climb. But then there was the issue that climbing the mountain wasn’t exciting in the slightest.

I didn’t feel anything while reading this book! I didn’t ship the characters because I could not feel an ounce of chemistry between them. There was a lot of showing and not telling, but just because you love kissing her, and you tell me how much you like her, if I don’t see anything loveable about this girl, I can’t ship it!

In general, there was not one character that I especially rooted for. Easton was okay. The film crew were tolerable. River was downright frustrating, and I may have actively disliked her by the end of the book. The decisions she made were downright ridiculous. Which brings me to the next thing I disliked, which was the plot.

Like I mentioned, for most of the book, nothing really was happening. There was talking, there was climbing, but beyond that, there was nothing. There are lots of natural disasters that can happen on a mountain. Which was why I was so frustrated at the fact that all of the accidents or plot points that happened were merely caused by the film crew not listening to their guide, Easton, and by actively doing stupid and dangerous things. Which made me annoyed at Easton for not taking them back down the mountain, the moment that they started acting reckless. But instead we get this quote, which is taken from the ARC, and may not be in the finished copy.

“Easton had never met a woman more determined, bullheaded, and maddeningly reckless in his life.”

This statement is followed by Easton talking about how much he adores her regardless. Or because of this. Whatever. To me it doesn’t matter. I don’t appreciate when books glorify doing rash, careless, and irresponsible actions that put both themselves and others at risk. I won’t mention specifics because of spoilers, but there were many moments that had characters risking their lives for the stupidest of reasons. And yet! I never felt like there were any stakes! I knew that everyone would be okay, and I hated that! Actions should have repercussions, and in this book that didn’t happen, which is why this book ended up with such a low rating.

A book that doesn’t have an interesting plot or lovable characters I can give 3 stars. A book that doesn’t take issues like health and safety seriously, and doesn’t ever provide consequences for reckless actions, can’t get any thing higher than a two star rating from me. There was nothing that made me detest this book enough to give it 1 star, but I didn’t enjoy the reading experience, and I don’t think I would recommend this book to anyone. I’m sad that I didn’t like this book, and I’m disappointed that this book wasn’t everything that I think it could have been.

I love the Moose Springs series and while the first will always be my favorite, this was a close second. I love Easton, so getting to see more of him was a plus, and River was a great addition to the crew. This book was just as hilarious as I've come to expect (I mean, it involved a lovestruck Marmot!) but still manages to keep you on the edge of your seat at times.

While I recommend this series as a whole, any of these would make a great standalone read.

I liked the Tourist Attraction, where we met Graham’s friend, Easton. I enjoyed Mistletoe and Mr. Right, where we saw a little more of Easton while we spent time with his friend Rick.

I absolutely LOVED Enjoy the View, where Easton finally got his chance to shine.

There was something about his strong, silent, overwhelming yet cuddly presence that called to me from the start. Seeing him get a chance to be himself and come out of his shell a bit, and meet a girl that would match him barb for barb, was an absolute joy. Easton is one giant, grumbly, cinnamon roll of a man, and hiking up a mountain with him was everything I wanted and more. River was witty, rambunctious, and I was delighted to meet her. She had a strength about her that I admire, and she knew she was floundering and a little lost, but just didn’t know what to do about it. As someone who is constantly trying to better themselves and figure out who you are in the world, seeing River go through it resonated with me and, while she did make me want to slap her a few times, I understood it. She had a drive and a passion that you have to admire and going along on this trip with her, this trip where she remembered how much she loved slowing down and appreciating the beauty of nature and all it has to offer, was something to behold. And it’s a lesson we all could remember ourselves.

This book was a journey, for sure. It was a journey of self discovery for our characters, and watching it unfold before our eyes was an absolute delight. It was a journey for River, who was learning who she is and what she really wants in life. It was a journey for Easton, who thought he was happy with his solo life; who knew he was alone, but never saw himself as lonely. And it was a journey for us, the reader, watching two people from different worlds realize they had so much more in common than they thought, and finding it all on their way up a mountain in Alaska. I laughed, I cried, I swooned and felt my heart burst, and I realized I would do absolutely anything to protect Easton Lockett and keep him safe from every bad thing in the world.

This book was also different from its predecessors, in that it was way more suspenseful and anxiety-inducing. Our characters are literally hiking up a snowy mountain in Alaska, and so of course it’s a dangerous adventure. Morgenthaler doesn’t mince words (and even taught me some new ones!) or coddle you on their trip, and I actually felt my stomach bottom out a few times. I knew there would be a HEA, because that’s obviously how this all goes, but at the same time, it was so thrilling and real, that every so often it was hard to remember. I loved it. From start to finish I gobbled it up.

I have loved my time in Moose Springs, and I was so happy to see Graham and Zoey (and Jake!), and Lana and Rick again in this story. Enjoy the View was a heck of a way to close out the series, and I’m so glad Morgenthaler chose Easton as our final hero. It was the perfect ending to a wacky and magical series in a fun little tourist town full of crazy characters (and animals). I’m going to miss them a lot, but I’m so grateful for every moment I spent with them.

Another adorable book in this sweet series! I am so glad we finally got Easton's story!! (Fingers crossed that is Ash's story is next!) I think Enjoy the View is my favorite of the three books. I loved how we had some heart stopping adventure moments all the while love is in the air. River and Easton's banter had me cracking up out loud. Morgenthaler's world building of Alaska is pristine, I have never wanted to visit Alaska more! I highly recommend this series and definitely start with book 1!!

Sarah Morgenthaler's Moose Springs, Alaska has quickly become one of my favorite contemporary romance/romantic comedy series. Filled with quirky characters, impeccable comedic timing, and a satisfying depth of emotion, these stories are delightful page-turners I can't get enough of.
In Enjoy the View, Morgenthaler gives readers the comedy and quirkiness we've come to expect but adds another layer with the danger and intensity that come with climbing the daunting Mount Veil. It's clear this author has more than a passing acquaintance with mountain climbing. Her descriptions create a feeling of authenticity as they carry the reader into the middle of the danger, and exhilaration, of the life-threatening elements of a 14,000 ft. climb. It's easy to believe the characters' driving need to master the geological beast. But the author also understands the sheer genius of comedic relief in the midst of intensity. The scene-stealing, love-sick marmot darn near steals the whole book and had me laughing so hard I was sure my condo neighbors would start banging on walls any second. In fact, the entire book is filled with passages that tickled my funny bone.
In addition to the adventure and comedy, Enjoy the View also brings a sweet and satisfying romance for Easton and River. I loved the banter between these two as well as the gradually developed friendship and mutual respect that deepened into more. I admired River's determination to take control of her future, even if I didn't agree with her every action. Easton has unexpected layers and I loved all of them. He's fascinated me from the beginning of the series and it was so much fun to finally see him step into the spotlight and find his partner in love.
You can absolutely begin this series with Enjoy the View and thoroughly enjoy River and Easton's journey. The author has written these books so that each can stand on it's own but I do believe you'll enjoy them even more, especially the scenes with earlier couples and other secondary characters, if you read them in order. Three times the laughter. Three times the fun.
