Wow! This book was a wild ride and I loved every minute of it! The audio book scared me at first with the super-creepy killer's voice, but I was soon enthralled and couldn't stop listening. It was a great murder mystery told from the point of view of a newsreader and her ex-husband, who is a detective on the case, as well as occasional chapters narrated by the voice-altered killer. I had suspects in mind right away and changed my mind often, almost everyone in the book was suspicious in some way. It was surprising right up until the last chapter, and tied up all the loose ends in a way I could not have seen coming. I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys a good mystery..

His & Hers follows a divorced couple, Jack and Anna (a detective and a journalist), as women they both know in different ways are being murdered. We slowly figure out why these murders are happening but we just don't know who's behind it all. We also get the killer's perspective even though their voice is revealed only at the end. I enjoyed what the audiobook did there. However I have to say, while the narrative being separated between his and hers was quite interesting, it left me a bit confused at times.

I just finished listening to this audiobook and I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about it, especially with that ending. This is the first book I've read from this author so I did not know what to expect going into it and so I ended up listening to a murder mystery with unlikable characters that still had me hooked to find out the truth. It was a little twisted, crazy and weird and I understand why some readers might find the ending unbelievable. It's not something I've ever read before at least. As for the characters, I didn't like any of them really. I felt really bad for Katherine and what she went through growing up but I hated the other girls (Rachel & Zoey especially). I also hated the part about animals being mistreated.

Overall, this book intrigued me and left me perplexed. The last quarter of this book had me on edge.

This book kept me guessing (and second guessing myself) until the very end. Alternating perspectives and so many twists and turns made this a hard-to-put-down thriller. I finished it within one day!

Wow, just WOW! One of the best audiobooks I’ve ever listened to. The narrators did a superb job of drawing the listener in and keeping them engaged. It didn’t feel as if they were merely reading a book, but rather you were living the story along with these characters.

This book is what other psychological thrillers books strive to be. It has so many twists and turns, you think you have it figured out, but nope, you never see the next thing coming (which happens a few times in the story). I didn’t want this book to end!

If you’ve never listed to and audiobook before and you enjoy mystery/suspense, I highly recommend you start with this one.

Anna must go back to her dreaded hometown to do a news report on a murder. It turns out that the victim is a childhood friend. As the story unfolds she discovers that this murder hits closer to her than she expected. Meanwhile a local detective becomes a suspect because of his own connection to the victim. The two of them must use what they know from the past and present to get to the bottom of it. 
 
I was really thrown around trying to guess the big reveal. Mind blown! I highly recommend checking this one out. It was my first from this author but I already own her first book so I will for sure be reading it sooner than planned.

This is a fast moving, intriguing, well-written who-done-it. It has all the ingredients to get my attention: English, alternating voices, unreliable narrator, fully-fleshed out characters. Highly recommend and will buy when it comes out. ( That said, I had to abandon the audiobook because the software is too glitchy, with stop-starts at random intervals, skipping of large sections, etc. I know we aren't supposed to discuss tech in the review but I have a feeling the glitchy tech might affect people's ability to fairly judge a book, and also the reason why I didn't finish this (and will wait for the book) is because the tech would not co-operate with me and I kept having to go back and make sure it hadn't jumped a section, so got confusing.)

This is the first audiobook I’ve listened too. His and Hers. The narratives were wonderful. The story kept me on the edge of my seat. Lots of twists and turns.

I thought the narrators were great, even though the murderer's voice through a voice disguiser was very creepy!!

A book about lies, revenge, more lies and so many twisty turns. It starts with Anna who was a BBC news presenter and is sent back literally where she started in the village that she grew up in to report on the murder of a girl she knew in school. The detective also happened to be her ex husband who also knew the victim!

I honestly had no idea who had dunnit! Such a clever writer, leading us up many paths throughout.

The issue with getting ARCs is that while you get the book earlier (yay!), you also can't talk to anyone about it when you finish it and I have a lot of feelings about this book and I need to talk about them.

I wasn't sure Feeney would ever match the brilliance of her debut, "Sometimes I Lie" but 'His & Her' has shattered that very high bar. Like Feeney's previous books you have some flashbacks to the past that leave you extra off-kilter as to what may or may not be going on but with 'His & Her' we also have multiple viewpoints driving you through the story and I literally could not turn the book off. The initial opening with the killer's voice disguised through me a bit, but it ended up really adding to the narrative since you couldn't glean the gender from those excerpts. Richard Armitage and Stephanie Racine gave brilliant performances with both voices fitting both the main character they were narrating and the side characters in conversation.

I highly recommend Feeney to thriller readers on a regular basis, and 'His & Her' just cements her as a new powerhouse in the genre. I will say don't pick up the book or press play unless you're ready to devote time to it because you won't be able to put it down.

As someone who loves reading Mystery/Thrillers, this was a great new experience for me! This was the first audiobook of the genre that I heard and it gave the story so much intrigue and gravitas!

This is the second Alice Feeney book I've read, and I really enjoyed it. The story is filled with twists and turns that keep you on your toes and wanting to know more. The writing and narration were great and I really was left guessing "whodunnit" till the end.

A highly twisty and compelling thriller/mystery told from 3 perspectives (voices). This is most engaging in audiobook format as the characters are read by different people. It takes a bit to catch how the device of moving in time is used, but it does an effective job and developing both the plot and the characters. Riddled throughout the book are a lot of obvious diversionary tactics, planted to mislead or confusion. This becomes a bit overused toward the finale as the author builds suspense through suspicions. Overall it was gripping and entertaining, allowing my mind to detach from reality.

A psychological thriller told in alternating chapters from the perspective of Anna, Jack and the killer. Richard Armitage did a fantastic job narrating Jack's side of the story. While the book kept me listening at every opportunity, I just found it hard to believe the twist at the end. Psychological thrillers that do not have a feasible plot are a deal breaker for me and parts of this book hit that wall.

What a great story! A page turner that kept me guessing throughout. The narration on this audiobook was great as each main character was read by a different narrator making it very easy to follow.

The body of a murdered woman turns up in Blackdown, a picturesque English village with a missing cat problem and some very creepy teenagers. Anna Andrews is a BBC newsreader who has just been replaced by the woman who used to have her job. Anna isn’t keen on going to Blackdown but she can’t really refuse when her boss sends her there to report on the murder. DCI Jack Harper is investigating the murder. He doesn’t reveal that he has been sleeping with the victim. Anna and Jack become much more involved in the case than they expected.

The story is told from the alternating points of view of Anna and Jack. Some chapters are also from the point of view of the killer. In the audiobook, that voice is distorted so it provides no clues to the killer’s identity. The plot kept surprising me with unexpected links between the characters. Every time I thought I knew who the killer was, my suspect turned up dead. I never did get it right. In addition to liking the plot, I also liked Anna and Jack who were prickly, complicated characters. I thought this book was fun. 4.5 stars

5 "Freaky Good" Stars!

I LOVED this audiobook!! The story is told from 3 perspectives....his, hers and an anonymous third person who isn't revealed until the end. Ms. Feeney has a talent for letting the reader unwrap a story gradually. She portions out little pieces of information as you need them. In His & Hers, the reader just needs to buckle up and enjoy the ride. I will say that when you think you have it all figured out, the plot will take another twist and you'll be left unsure of everything again. It's a very well-written psychological thriller with a carefully formulated plot. I'm not sharing any more details because the less you know going into this book, the better.

I will also say that the narration for this audio version was spot on perfect for the storyline. It made an already enjoyable book even better.

Let me start off by saying that I’ve never been a huge fan of audiobooks. I just love the way a book feels in your hands. I love coming up with my own ideas about what the characters sound like and etc. I requested the audiobook version from NetGalley because I’d heard it was fantastic to listen to.

I went into the book blind without having read a synopsis. Crazy, I know! I was excited to learn it was a thriller as I got into it. Thrillers are my jam. Right away I knew that I wasn’t going to love the characters. They kept secrets throughout the book, which was fun, but they just weren’t likable. It made it hard to root for anyone. I didn’t find the book or the narration to be quite as creepy as I heard everyone else say it was, but it did keep my attention. All thriller/mystery readers spend half the book coming up with theories of “who did it” and I was no different. I will say I was wrong and did not guess the ending. I had a little trouble buying in to the ending but it was exciting to have a fun twist you didn’t see coming. Overall, I really did enjoy this and I can definitely see myself picking up more audiobooks in the future!

My first from this author and I really enjoyed this one. Twisty and cunning. Every time I thought I’d nailed down the culprit I was wrong, very successful red herrings throughout. I read so much crime it’s rare to surprise me but this one did!! I thought the narrators did a great job. I’ll definitely be picking up more from this author.

There's his version of the story, her version of the story, and the truth. A woman is murdered in a small town and a police detective and a reporter find themselves connected to the victim. They are both unreliable narrators for their own respective reasons. The murderer also chimes in, but their part of the story just adds to the reader's confusion.

I couldn't stop listening to this audiobook. Every new bit of information propels the story forward and adds more complexity to plot. This book kept me guessing until the very end. This book was suspenseful, full of twists and surprises, and every time you think you have it figured out, you end up second-guessing yourself.

I'm going to be thinking about this book for a while.

His & Hers took a few minutes to grab my attention, but when it did, I held on all day listening to the story. In that regard, it accomplishes what I expect of a thriller. Feeney also managed to go beyond the standard expectations of a thriller, though. There were some solid reflective moments on human nature that resonate.

As far as whodunnit, I was guessing until the very end. Feeney did an excellent job making everyone seem equally likely throughout the entire story.

The narration was well-done. Sometimes I get bored quickly by an audiobook based on the narrator's pace or tone, but this wasn't a problem for me with His & Hers.
