My first audiobook from the publisher on NetGalley! I wasn't planning on reading His & Hers but couldn't resist downloading the audiobook, and I am so glad I did. I enjoyed listening to Richard Armitage & Stephanie Racine narrate the story, and they drew me into the story right from the start. I usually only listen while I am doing chores around the house, or I find myself too tired to read however, I found myself wanting to sit down and just listen to the story.

The story is cleverly told through divorce couple Anna and Jack's POV in his and her alternating chapters as the story unfolds. The story is easy to listen to with the different sides to it, and if my focus wandered to something else, it was easy to get back into the flow of the story. The her chapters start with the time of the day, and that kept things on track for me. I thought both narrators fit the characters, were convincing and worked well together. Well, I didn't find the story all that suspenseful they added some tension to the story with their voices.

The story starts off lighter with a murder, and I started to get comfortable with the pace and then as secrets are revealed things turned darker than I expected. After reading Alice Feeney's last book, I am not sure why I didn't except a darker turn to the story. I think listening makes it sound a bit more disturbing for me than reading it. And then some animal scenes came up, and I wished I wasn't paying attention then, however, I did practice some selected hearing there.

The story is a twisty and entertaining one to listen to and I am not sure if I would have enjoyed reading it as much as listening to it. It did keep me guessing, and I went back and forth with my suspicious until I thought again I had things figured out just to find out I didn't. I enjoyed that final reveal that I did not see coming and everything wrapped up well for me. I highly recommend the audiobook.

Posted on Goodreads and will be posted on my blog on the release date.

This is the first book I've read by Alice Feeny and I am SO glad I did. Trust me. YOU WILL NOT be disappointed. This book was quite a thrilling ride on the crazy train. Twists and turns galore. Peculiar characters with SEEECRETS. Told in two alternate POV's with a creepy third narrator who could be anyone. I thought I had a clear idea of who the killer was about a third of the way through the book but, then wait! I was right. I was wrong. I was right. I was wrong, and so on. It had me guessing right up to the end with those beautiful twisty turns that make you second guess yourself and crave from a thriller. I listened to this thanks to NetGalley ARC. Narration by Richard Armitage (Red Dragon-film) and Stephanie Racine-who narrated Feeny's 'Sometimes I Lie'-were spot on.
I can't describe how this book varied from other thrillers because I feel that my lack of brevity would just lead to spoilers. So please, just read it or listen to it and you'll know what I mean!!

Anna Andrews is the lunchtime news presenter for the BBC. Or, was, until the woman she was filling in for returns from maternity leave. Desperate to maintain relevant in a cut-throat world, Anna heads back to her hometown to cover a murder. Jack is a detective inspector who has never covered a murder before. Or, that’s what they want us to think.

Told from Anna and Jack’s point of view, with the anonymous killer’s thoughts sprinkled throughout, His & Hers by Alice Feeney is an exercise in instinct. Are you sure you can trust yours? What about being able to trust your sibling? Parent? Best friend? Husband?

Everyone wants to tell their story in the way that presents them in the best light. They want to justify every action they’ve made and, in the case of this book especially, need to know someone understands. What they’re doing is out of self preservation, to save someone else, to make right wrongs, to get revenge. And, after they tell you their motives, can you blame them?

But what echoes through the end of His & Hers isn’t even as clear cut as deciding what happened was justified. You have to decide for yourself if you’re finally hearing the truth.

Thank you NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to listen to this creepy read.
It was twisty, heart thumping, edge of my seat read that I couldn't stop listening too. I must say I did have a few eye roll moments. One being the voice over, but after a few minutes of hearing it I fell in love with it. It totally added to the dark vibes this book brings. I honestly don't think I would have enjoyed this book as much as I did reading the actual book. Listening to it is the way to go.

How do I even begin with this book? OMG talk about a plot twist. This is a must read book. I loved every moment of it. If you love thrillers and mysteries make sure you read or listen to this. I received an ARC from Netgalley. They just added audiobooks the other day and this was amazing on audiobook. The Netgalley app is still a little new so I did have some technical difficulties with the app randomly stopping or the audiobook starting from the beginning towards the end. With every new thing there are always some things that need to be tweaked a bit. I listened to this in one day. ❤

Many thanks to NetGalley, Flatiron Books, and Alice Feeney for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I listened to the audio version of this book and I honestly could not stop listening! This was my first Alice Feeney novel and she has officially gained a new fan. I really enjoyed this thrilling story that is full of multiple plot twists. This book had me theorizing about the suspects and just when I thought I had the plot figured out, she threw in a curve ball. Twist after twist! The addition of the third narrator in between the perspectives of Him and Her really added to the creepiness of the story, especially if you listen to it on audio. The crime scene content was just graphic enough to inject a little shock but nothing over the top. I highly recommend this novel to those who are looking for a psychological thriller this summer!

Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to listen on NetGalley but I am so confused by the chapters being out of order that I am DNFing at 39%.

You won’t be able to stop reading this one, clear your day and your night! This author is a master of psychological fiction, I just wish that she hadn’t chosen to include animal cruelty in her last book as well as this one.

I received an ARC of this novel from the publisher through Netgalley
His & Hers is set to publish July 28, 2020

I listened to the audio version of the book. I love audio books.
Although the title is his and hers the story is told from the perspective of 3 people, ( although you don’t know if they are all different people). unfortunately it starts with the distorted voice of the killer which I found annoying to listen to. But bear with it as you don’t hear from the killer very often.
There are 2 narrators which works well and I think it adds more interest having the Male and female voices.
The narrators I found to be satisfactory.
The 2 main characters are DCI Jack Harper who is dissatisfied with his life, and Anna Andrews, a functioning alcoholic with a superficial personality and very self absorbed. I didn’t find either of them to be likeable characters. For me the difference between a good book and a great one is how I engage with a character so that I am rooting for them throughout the book.
There are several other characters whose lives are interwoven and the story is told between the past and the present.
Over all I enjoyed the book.
There are a lot of strands to the story which adds interest as there is always something happening.
There is 1 strand that I feel is misdirection that doesn’t work well for me.
I was disappointed with the ending.
Thanks to Netgalley for allowing me to listen to this book.

I really enjoyed the multiple perspectives in thus book. The narrators were great, and the book kept me guessing until the end.

Most of the time, I do not enjoy dual narration storylines in audio format. With one narrater voicing both parts, it can be hard to differentiate characters. This book was perfectly done with two excellent narrators. I highly recommend the audio version.

As for the actual story, it was excellent. I can honestly say that I did not see that ending coming. There were so many twists and turns but not to the point that it cheapened the story.

Thank you to Netgalley, publisher and author for a copy of this book.

Soo many twist!!
There is nothing better than multiple POV's in a mystery/thriller because it's a cliffhanger at every chapter which makes keeps me turning the pages. (Or listening in this case)
I could not pinpoint who the killer was in this story, I did not see it coming at all. Great story, great writing and narration.
Totally recommend!

4+ stars

Thanks to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for providing me an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review.

I was over the moon when I first saw that NetGalley was going to start providing audiobooks ARCs. I love listening to them but I can’t always find an available book in my library’s digital collection.

His and Hers is a well crafted thriller told from three points of view. There is Anna, a BBC newscaster with a drinking problem; Jack a police detective who knew the victim but doesn’t tell anyone; and a third unknown narrator.

The book goes back and forth between the three narrators and back in time to Anna’s childhood. Enjoyable, fast-paced with several good twists and turns.

I enjoyed listening to Richard Armitage and Stephanie Racine read the book. I listen to audiobooks at 1.75x or 2.0x regular speed and even sped up they were clear and easy to follow. I thought there was an issue with the download for the first chapter but it was the third unknown narrator whose voice was disguised and which I didn’t understand that at first. The recording had a good flow to it.

If you haven’t already read it, go back and read Alice Feeney’s Sometimes I Lie.

I don't want to spoil even one tiny bit of this book, but I will say that it was absolutely enthralling. From the first chapter I was sucked into the tangled web that intwined Anna Andrews and Jack Harper. The twist and turns were behind every corner and even when you thought you knew the truth you were hit with the even more inconceivable facts. I listened to this as an audio book and I couldn't stop listening! The narration was incredibly engaging. The different nuances of the different characters, no matter who was speaking, was absolutely riveting. If you have the chance to pick this up as an audio book I would highly recommend it! #netgalley #hisandhers

Excellent suspense Very twisted, full of intrigue and doubt. Written in a simple way but with a complicated, confusing plot that makes the reader doubt who the person behind the deaths really is. It is developed to a good compas giving to the end doubts and the surprise of who is really the killer. Well written, well narrated. Thanks netgalley for giving me the opportunity of my first audiobook which I enjoyed and I finished in one day. All opinions are strictly mine.

OH MY GOODNESS!⁣

I have been giving out many 5 star reviews lately but His & Hers was SO good!⁣

This audiobook from @libro.fm was fantastic! There are two sides to every story His and hers, yours and mine...Alice Feeney captivates you from the beginning that you just want to keep listening.⁣

We listen to Jack and Anna talk back and forth and then the killer. The fact that the killers voice is creepy as hell and auto-tuned made this even more eerie, but it made me love it even more. ⁣

People start showing up dead, then you find out just how all of these victims are linked to one another, the story gets more and more addicting and jaw dropping each chapter.⁣

Every chapter I was like I think this person is the killer, no wait this person, no wait?! 🤔 I legit had no idea until the very end who the killer was because I was convinced it could’ve been anyone. ⁣

This is definitely an excellent thriller for 2020. But a few trigger warnings- It’s a bit graphic at times, animal abuse and sexual abuse of minors. ⁣

Thank you #netgalley and @flatironbooks for an ARC audiobook for an honest review!

His & Hers is the third book I’ve read by Alice Feeney, and in my opinion, by far the best. I listened to the audiobook, and I could not stop listening. I believe it is a 10 hour book and I literally listened straight through to the end. I’m amazed at this book has not gotten more attention.
When the book begins, I had to do a double take because of the voice coming out. That is quickly explained as we go right into the story. Anna is working the on air desk for a midday BBC broadcast. She began when her predecessor went out on maternity leave and didn’t come back. Suddenly, the new mom returns and Anna is out of her job. She’s put back on the correspondence desk and is not happy about it. Kat, the new mom, suggest she covers a murder that just occurred in a small town not too far from their location. It turns out that this is where Anna grew up. She does not want to return, not only because of the memories, but because her ex-husband, Jack, lives there now and he is a police detective. Her mother, who she hasn’t seen in quite a while also still lives there.
Regardless, she goes and along with her is a camera crew, including Richard who she’s previously slept with years ago. actually they are quite a few characters sleeping with people they should not be.
There are two narrators, Jack Indiana, or His & Hers, and a third narrator whose voice is disguised. These characters are involved in a major twisted story. Each time you turn around there is a new twist and it all seems to go back to when Anna was in school. Every time I thought I had The mystery solved, I was so wrong. I considered every character a viable suspect at some point. The ending may be a bit far-fetched for some, but I thought it was fitting. This is a definite must-read if you enjoy suspense, thriller, mystery type books.
Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced audiobook arc in return for my honest opinion.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my first audiobook arc!

I love thrillers and this... well this was absolutely wild! I kept thinking I knew who the killer was for me to then only change my mind again 50 pages later!

The narrators did a great job and I loved how the chapters of the actual killer were done using a voice changer, that was really unique and not something I’ve come across before.

This book had a lot of elements I really like; morally grey characters, a is he isn’t he corrupt cop and lots of twists. The back story of each character and their possible motives was really well thought out and it had a nice flow to it.

A thoroughly good read
