Pepper Basham's The Red Ribbon is romantic suspense based on a true story. I love the way she weaves a romantic plot through a horrendous crime. She also manages to infuse humor and the gospel into this Appalachian Tale. I fell in love with Ava and Jeremiah and found myself cheering them on, also feeling their pain as events unfolded. The plot kept me guessing and Pepper sprinkled clues all through the story. So grab yourself a pot of sassafrass tea and settle back for Appalachian feuding with some spectacular kisses thrown in.

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen Matthew 28:20

I was given a copy of this book by NetGalley.com with no expectations. All thoughts are my own.

This is another hit in my book about the True Crimes series. I love it because it’s mixed with fact and fiction and the author has done her research well.
I’m totally getting a lot of enjoyment out of this series and let me tell you it’s the best series ever written!
Wonderful characters and a cool and an exciting plot to go along with it.
This book sure didn’t disappoint either as I read and learned about the events unfolding in this story.
I loved the way the mountain people talk. I did have a few places in the book where I didn’t understand certain words but I soon enough figured it out.
Here’s a few of my favorite quotes:
“The Lord your God is in your midst. Here. And Greater than your fear” How true this is! I am so glad He is!
I picked this particular quote because that’s what I’m going through right now with all the new changes in my life. I think I’ll write this down somewhere where I can remember it!
Here’s another one I especially loved “God ain’t sittin up in heaven watchin a show down here in Earth.” He don’t mind gettin His hands dirty.” “Else He’d never sent the Savior.”
Granny Burcham a lady who is far wiser than anyone I’ve ever known even in real life. I love her a lot.
Even though Granny is a supporting character I felt she was my own Granny. How I miss my own!
“Life always afforded choices Jeremiah showed her that.” Yes it sure does whether good or bad I might add. It’s all in the choosing of how we decide to go down that road.
The truth always comes out no matter what.
I didn’t really want the story to end. It was so good and I finished it one sitting.
I highly recommend this book and I if you’re anything like me I believe you’ll enjoy it as much as I have!
My thanks to Netgalley and Barbour publishing for a complimentary copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review and all opinions are my own.

Another winner in the true crimes series. All books in this series can be read as a stand alone book. I liked the pace of this book and the mystery element. The book has themes of trust and the power that gossip has.

I read this book in pretty much one sitting. The characters were well written although I have to confess that I love 'wolf' best! I like how these stories take real history and add a fictional context to them.

I got this free in exchange for an honest review. I liked it so much that I suggested it for purchase for libraries. I had read the authors others works and I recommend them as well.
