This book is 3rd in its series and even though I had only read The Silver Shoes (book #2) before this, I really think this book could read as a stand-alone. I enjoyed this book and found it to be a quick read. It went back and forth from 1885 - present but it was easy to follow. Not sure how I see the green corset connected to both timelines but I still liked the book. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this early release in exchange for my honest review.

A very unique story told in dual timelines of two women in two different eras, both connected to a green lace corset. Both are on a journey to discover their true selves. Modern day Anne, a San Francisco artist, picks up a vintage corset at a thrift shop that connects her to the past. Sallie Sue from the past must come to grips with being kidnapped by a bank robber that she is coming to care about. While I enjoyed the story I found the plot a bit thin. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book. I gave the book three stars.

The Green Lace Corset by Jill G. Hall is another great addition to this best seller list of novels.

This great story of two women in different centuries that both grow in their strengths, identities and independence.

Anne McFarland is a modern thirty something artist living in San Francisco. During a spiritual trip to Flagstaff she buys a corset at a resale boutique. One night back in San Fran she decides to wear the saloon corset out and makes some decisions trying to get over her ex that only draws her to him even more.

Cut to the owner Sally Sue Sullivan during the 1880s. Young woman in Kansas City area who was held at gunpoint during a bank robbery. Later, kidnapped on a train by the same handsome bandit. Taken to Northern Arizona’s Wild West and held captive she plans her escape but grows in her independence.

This book can stand alone as I didn’t realize until I was almost done that this book is the third book in a series about Anne McFarland’s life. I didn’t know the back story of Sylvia but believe that this book has drawn me to want to read The Black Velvet Coat & The Silver Shoes to learn more about her early years.

It was so great to be reunited with Anne as she is still wandering through life, but now with big decisions to be made. The tie in with the Green Lace corset is nice. Sally Sue is also a strong willed, independent woman finding her place in the world. Love that the book is told in alternating time lines.

* Disclaimer: I received a copy of this novel from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. *

Solid 3-stars. Anne (present-day SF) and Sally Sue (1880s kidnapped woman) struggle with coming to terms with their new normal lives. Anne struggles with the turn of events as her life takes a drastic turn and she finds herself looking to the past and the future. Sally Sue is kidnapped on her way to visit her ailing aunt. In the time that passes she figures out what she’s made of and what her future could hold.

I really wanted to like this book more, but I felt like I spent the entirety of the book waiting for something to happen (there isn’t any real connection for the green corset other than passing comments here and there). I loved the idea of the book - two women years apart coming into their own. For me this book didn’t really have the follow through that I was hoping for. It’s a cute little story and a fast read so it has that going for it.

I loved this book. I enjoyed the whole series, I just wish it was longer. The characters live and pull you in. You can feel their joys and sorrows, and will be happy when love finally conquers all.

A duel timeline novel that seemed like it was going to be quite interesting.
I was left wanting more.....
With that said. I did enjoy the story of the two main characters, Anne and Sally Sue. The timeline is separated by more then 135 years, modern day time of Anne living in San Francisco and Sally Sue in the Wild West era in Arizona.
Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read and review this book for my honest opinion.

I really tried to get into this novel, but I just couldn’t. It was written well and told a nice story, but it was too simple and young adult for me. I just wish it was written in a more adult fiction language.

A story of resilience, strength, love and especially heart!
Told in duel timelines, two women one hundred and thirty- five years apart have a special item in common that provides comfort and the strength in their lives when questioning and contemplating life goals.
This is a well told journey of both Sally Sue and Anne that you will certainly get caught up in as did I!

Thank you for allowing me to read this advanced copy! I enjoyed this book however I wish I had read the 1st 2 books she wrote to gain the background! 2 Women finding the strength to endure, finding the importance of family and love! It had great twists and turns that kept me engaged not wanting to put the book down!
I would easily recommend this book along with Jill G. Hall's 1st 2 books~
I would rate this a full 4 stars~

Thank you to She Writes Press and NetGalley for access to this ARC.

This book sounded interesting and I love stories with two different time periods that intertwine but I could not finish this book. To me, it just read too juvenile, too immature for an adult novel.
