My son loves this! He loves the characters (from his favorite show) and enjoyed having a new story to read about. Perfect for a 13 yr old boy!

A fun use of roll playing games in this book. We saw the Teen Titans play a game on the show but the interaction was entirely different than in this book. The plot exists largely within the world of the game so it's really more about the game characters than the Titans. But we also have a "real world" villain plot. Slyly clever with a variety of jokes.

3.5 stars - Good+
I requested this ARC because I wanted to see how the Teen Titans would do in a D&D sort of situation. Robin was obnoxious and controlling, of course, at the start. But when the villain is revealed and his focus shifts off himself and to saving his friends and the city, I liked this a lot more. Plenty of silliness to enjoy, but also some fantastic moments. I especially enjoyed some of the Cyborg pieces when it came to the villain, and Raven is always a favorite.

This was a pretty fun graphic novel to read. It began simple enough with Robin getting the team to play a game together. When he made it too difficult to win, they were all ready to go do something else. Yet when someone else takes over, the game becomes a lot more fun. Robin suspects there might be a terrible plot afoot, and needs to find a way to get the help of the team to bring them down. As this graphic novel came to a close, this team was able to come together to stop an evil foe from taking over the city. Fans of Teen Titans Go! will want to check this graphic novel out.

Prose (Story): Robin corrals the rest of the Teen Titans together for a rousing game of Basements & Basilisks, a D&D-style role-playing game with (naturally) Robin as the Basement Boss. But when Robin goes (naturally) goes overboard, drunk with power, and makes the game so difficult it's pretty much impossible to win, the rest of the Titans rebel, finding in a new Basement Boss who gives them a much easier time in the game ... so much so, Robin begins to realize that the other Titans are so into their fantasy world now - led on by a new BB who may not have the best of intentions - that his friends may just stay in there forever, ignoring their duties as crimefighters in Jump City.

Don's (Review): While I have never played D&D or ever got into that gaming world, I still enjoyed watching Robin's ego leap out of control yet on cue - as well as watch the little guy try to reign it in again long enough to save his friends, especially as he caused the problem in the first place! The story is pretty standard - Robin as BB means an impossible-to-defeat game, the new BB making the game so ridiculously easy, the Titans get addicted - but for me, the real meat of the story is when the new BB's true identity is revealed, and the stakes ratchet up high for what might happen to Jump City if the Titans are lost in her world for good. I love a strong villain going up against the Titans, the more nefarious the better as it brings out Robin's crazier antics, and though I thought the second half of this graphic novel moved must faster than the first, time with the Titans is always well-spent; those kids are crazy! (Available November 10) 3.5/5 stars

NOTE: I received a free ARC of this title from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review.

While Teen Titans Go! tends to be an acquired taste for many, I find their antics adorable and hilarious. This tale is no different--if you follow the show, the personalities are very accurately depicted in this role playing adventure. Robin finds himself hosting a game of Basements and Basilisks (a homage to Dungeons and Dragons), to which the Titans are not amused by in the beginning. The adventure evolves from a challenging game of torture to one of fun and excitement when a Titans' foe disguises herself as a well-meaning Basement Boss and casts the group under a spell to cause some mischief in the real world.

I loved it. TTG! is known for its silly gags and there's nothing short of it here. The story was entertaining, flowing well enough to keep a young reader engaged in the antics. The art is recognizable--unfortunately, the low quality of the review copy prevents me from analyzing it further but fans of the series will find their character designs true to the material.

A must-have for young readers who may also be familiar with DnD! Even if they're not, this title is a surprisingly interesting way to be introduced to this type of gaming.

A great graphic novel for any Teen Titans! Go! fan. Beautiful illustrations, fast paced, and with the humor fans know and love.

I tend to like the Teen Titans cartoon, but the writing on this books is uneven and confusing. There are some obvious jokes at Dungeons and Dragon’s expense, but the story was convoluted. I prefer the nonsense of most Teen Titans in this era.

My 11-year old daughter is a huge fan of Teen Titans Go!, so we decided to both read this graphic novel. The book does a good job capturing the feel, spirit, and humor of the TV show.

The story starts with the Teen Titans playing their role-playing game of Basements & Basilisks (a humorous take on Dungeons & Dragons), with Robin as the basement boss. As Robin ramps up the difficulty, a new boss comes into the picture and makes the game super easy, getting the Titans lost in their adventure while ignoring the crimes outside in Jump City.

A short fun read that fans of either the TV show (like my daughter) or Dungeons & Dragons will appreciate. The humor can be enjoyed by any readers of any age, although it helps if you are at least familiar with the characters.

I requested and received a free advanced electronic copy from DC Entertainment/DC Comics via NetGalley. Thank you!

This book was sweet and a great read. It was super funny and I loved reading it. In this book, Starfire, Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Raven play Basements and Basilisks. Robin makes the game super hard so that they will have "more fun". So they elect Betty (Jinx in disguise) to be their host. When they ask her, Jinx's evil plan starts. Really hilarious and funny, this book is a perfect read for readers ages 8-11.

I'm still not sure how I feel about Teen Titans GO as someone who loved the OG Teen Titans, but this was a cute graphic novel. Loved the elements of D&D included, loved the puns, loved the villain twist. It was a bit confusing to follow, but felt very much like the show in that way. A solid 3 stars.

My 4th grader said this Teen Titans Go! book was so funny. The superheroes and adventures in the book kept her engaged and excited to read the next book. We are very into graphic novels at our house and this was a great Saturday morning read.

read this to my daughter over the course of a few nights and I could genuinely see her enjoying it as an older child reading on her own as well! The story is fast-paced, humorous, and full of that classic Teen Titans banter that we know and love so much. It doesn’t feel forced like some other children’s graphic novels/comic books.
The illustrations are clean and colorful, the story was well-developed, and it was fun!
We’d love to see more in the series!

This graphic novel is a must read for all Teen Titan Go! fans. The artwork, as usual is incredible, the story is incredibly fun with its spin on Dungeons and Dragons, and the dialogue was spot on for the characters, based on the Cartoon Network Show. My 4½ year old son is a huge Teen Titans fan and he was incredibly amused by the hijinks and he really loved the graphics. I definitely recommend this for fans of the genre.

The art is so fun and does a great job of capturing the mood of the T.V. show. It also was wonderful to see the parts of the story set in the teen titans real world and in their role playing game. The characters are true to their T.V. counterparts and their humor translates well in the book. All around this was also a really great adventure with well done twists. I really enjoy this version of the Teen Titans Go characters.

Fans of Teen Titans Go! and D&D are going to enjoy this title greatly. Fans of Teen Titans Go! who don't understand anything about tabletop role-playing games are probably going to be amused, but also incredibly confused. I enjoy both, but still had a bit of a hard time following the story back and forth between the game and the real world; There were a few times it almost felt like panels were missing. I think kids are likely to enjoy the book anyway, but it was not my favorite of the Teen Titans Go! books DC has done.
