A wonderful look into the backstory of Agnarr and Iduna from Frozen. It filled in the gaps left by the movie nicely, first and foremost, how Iduna managed to survive in a land where she knew nothing and no one and how she would've reunited and married Agnarr under these circumstances. While both Agnarr and Iduna get point of view chapters, it very much feels more like Iduna's story than Agnarr's. The book could have benefited from more chapters focusing on him, or simply focused on Iduna and given us a bit more of her childhood among the Northuldra. Overall though, the book kept me engaged and would make a wonderful read for fans of the Frozen franchise.

Are you a Frozen super fab? Were you captivated by the Broadway musical or either of the movies? Have you wanted to have more backstory on Iduna or Agnorr?
This book takes you back to the fated night on the ship, with a flashback through the love story of Iduna and Agnorr driving the plot.
There are quips and references to the stories you already know, and delicious details, cute moments, and character development to dig into. I can’t say too much more without spoiling the magic, but I highly recommend you read this book!
Thank you for the ARC, Netgalley!

Pleasant tale covering the lives and courtship of Iduna and Agnarr, the ill-fated parents of Frozen's Anna and Elsa. I'm not really a Frozen fan, but I found this fantasy romance to be pleasant (indeed I found Iduna far more interesting than I have ever found her daughters or their two films). Familiarity with both Frozen 1 and Frozen 2 are likely needed, although having simply seen the two films will suffice (no deep dives needed here). My only question is who the audience for this book is intended to be. The word choice and some plot elements suggest an older child or early teen, but I'm not sure the Frozen source material would be of much interest to older children.
