Perfect, vintage and timeless are the words that come to mind after reading this cute Hallmark story set in Owl Lake. The setting, classic storyline and characters quickly become part of the reader’s experience. Gentle romance from a love that began when Aiden and Ashley were in school together. Life happens and they get a second chance. Quintessential Hallmark story. Cozy up with some of your favorite holiday treats and escape. #NetGalley #ChristmasCharms

This is a cute Christmas love story. I felt like the charm bracelet storyline overpowered the romance a bit. I would have liked more scenes between Ashley and Aiden, showing why they belonged together. I'm not a big fan of magical elements in romance, so I'm not the right audience for this book.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Super cute! Always love a good Christmas book! Good characters with a storyline that kept me intrigued.

I was very excited about it, but I was a bit disappointed. The story fell flat quite a lot to me, not enough depth to the characters and overly cheesy at some points. Nonetheless it was still a cozy and cute little read for a cold winter day. 3/5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for receiving an eARC in return for an honest review.

As you mature, it's so easy to lose the awe and wonder of Christmas. That's what happened to Ashley without her even realizing it. Totally relatable, but that's pretty much where reality ends, and the Hallmark dream world begins in Christmas Charms.

Ashley thinks she knows which direction she wants her life to go: get a promotion at her job, which happens to be one of the biggest jewelry stores in New York, and become engaged to her boyfriend, who is sweeping her away to Paris for Christmas. When life puts a huge wrench in her plans, she decides to come home, after being away from her family and friends for years. On the train trip home she falls asleep only to awake and find an antique charm bracelet on her wrist. Bizarre in and of itself, but things really get turned upside down when the charms start to mirror what is happening in real life. It is these moments that wake Ashley up, reminding her of her true heart's desires, and opening her eyes again to the magic and wonder of Christmas.

The premise is really what hooked me (I mean, who doesn't love charm bracelets!) but I felt like the execution was a little flawed. I know this is Hallmark, and you expect certain things to be a little over the top, but this novel was too unbelievable, and most of it didn't even have to do with the charms coming to life!

I felt like Ashley was way too much in her head, the repetitive introspection highly annoying. Plus the fact that every single thing, down to the clothes each character was wearing and every food that was eaten, was Christmas related, was overkill for me. I also felt like Aidan's character was superficial. Though I have a thing for firefighters, and though for sure I'd fall in love with him, I felt like he was one-sided. Sure, he rescues Ashley, and has some swoon-worthy scenes, but there's no depth. This is the problem I usually have when authors choose to have an entire novel be narrated by one character, and this was definitely a problem for me in this book as well.

In saying all that, Christmas Charms is well written and does have a good flow. This is the first book I've read by Teri Wilson, but I can definitely see reading something else from her catalog. She has a great writing style and tempo that does put you into the story. I truly did feel like I was in Owl Lake.

Honestly, I think this novel would be better interpreted as a Christmas movie, giving the story the magic that it deserves, and taking the focus off the trivial things that bothered me. Yes, sadly, Christmas Charms fell a little flat for me, but I don't regret reading it one bit. The main storyline itself is an adorable idea, the characters warm and inviting, Owl Lake dreamy, and all in all it really was a "charming" read.

I am an absolute sucker for Hallmark movies, so when Teri released Christmas Charms, published by Hallmark - I knew this was going to be right up my street! Christmas Charms is every bit gorgeous and magical, with the perfect amount of romance. I became extremely invested in what was going to trigger the charms & only wished for a happing ending for Ashley. This is an absolutely stunning Christmas read and I would highly recommend if you're in need of some light entertainment.

I didn't care for this book. I didn't like the main character and I found it hard to get into the story. I found I was skimming through the story, rather than being invested in the couple.

I love Hallmark movies so much and this book made me feel like I was watching a movie.
Ashley is going to spend Christmas at her parents' house after suffering from the disappointment of Jerremy not thinking about marrying her. ends up rekindling the flame that was asleep in her heart
Upon arriving at her parents' house, many strange things are happening and she realizes that the charm bracelet she got from a stranger on the train brings with it a certain magic, but she doesn't want this magic to control her heart and Aidan's heart
Aiden and Ashley are very cute together and in addition her dog stole my heart.

5/5 stars

Thank you to Hallmark Publishing and Teri Wilson for my Advanced Readers’ Copy. Even though Christmas had passed and the new year was upon us, I wanted to get my review in so I tackled this book without much of an expectation. Boy was I wrong. It was an adorable, belated and beautifully wrapped Christmas gift.

First off I loved the two main characters and of course despised the villain. The town was absolutely precious and I want to visit the Norman Rockwell scene. It seriously had the best Christmas traditions implanted, magical wishes and of course fairy-tale endings.

I couldn’t have wanted anything more from a holiday treasure. I HIGHLY recommend this one for readers looking to get into the spirit with a great sweet and adorable romance.

I’m hoping because of Hallmark, it’s been made into a movie so I can watch it this next Christmas but first read this delightful holiday book!

I adored this book! It was the perfect fireside Christmas read with just the right amount of magic. The romance unfolded at just the right pace and I loved the slow build of tension. The appearance of the Mrs. Clause like- figure on the train still has me smiling. As with any Hallmark style story you expect it to be a little "cookie cutter" but even though this story absolutely fits the Hallmark mold, it was a special one. I challenged myself to read 12 Christmas Romances this season- I ended up with 15, and this was my favorite!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The most adorable book I've read this year! It's exactly what I wanted to read right before Christmas. It's the perfect Christmas story and I've already recommended it. It's so satisfying to read and the story is so lovely! That kind of love between a young couple that even after years never went away. It really is a dream Christmas and I will read this book again next year. I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review

The best word to describe this Christmas romance is “charming”. (I know that’s a word play on the title, but this truly is a charming story:) In fact, I think this is my favorite Hallmark Publishing book to date. The storyline was interesting; the main characters were people that I’d like to get to know, and I wish that it were possible to visit this fictional small town during the Christmas season. The part about the charm bracelet’s “magic” was a nice added touch to this story. There wasn’t anything I’d change about this book, and it’s one that I’ll look forward to reading again during a Christmas season.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Christmas Charms: A small-town Christmas romance from Hallmark Publishing by Terri Wilson is the perfect Christmas story full of magic and romance! The story is beautifully written. It definitely requires the suspension of your disbelief but doesn’t holiday magic lend itself to that?
A mysterious kind stranger meets our protagonist Ashley on a train heading home for Christmas. Ashley is given a handmade Christmas stocking by this woman and hidden in the toe is a charm bracelet. With the bracelet is a note urging her to wear it and have the Christmas of her dreams. I loved the small town of Owl Lake. The author is wonderfully descriptive of the setting, so much so, that you can picture everything she is describing.
The story is full of complex and deep feelings, warmth, love, family, and Christmas traditions. Most of all I loved the way that each charm delivers a small miracle in Ashley’s life. I truly hope that Hallmark decides to make Christmas Charms into a 2021 Premier! If you need a heartwarming tale as only this author and Hallmark can provide please give this delightful book a read.
I would like to thank Hallmark Publishing, Terri Wilson and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love all things Hallmark and this one didn't disappoint! I did feel it was a little better than most actually. Not quite as predictable and the added Christmas magic was a nice touch. I really hope they make this one into a movie for next Christmas season. Ashley was a very fun and lovable main character. The chemistry between her and Aiden was magical as well. I recommend to anyone who loves the typical Hallmark Christmas movies. It will definitely get you in the holiday spirit!!
