If you love Hallmark Christmas movies, you’re going to want to read Christmas Charms by Teri Wilson. It’s basically the book baby of It’s a Wonderful Life and Groundhog Day. And be honest…you can’t pass by either of those while channel surfing without stopping to watch for a little while, am I right?

I’m a big fan of author Teri Wilson, so I was excited to get the opportunity to read and review this one before its October 6, 2020 release date — shout out to Hallmark Publishing and NetGalley.

You know I love a second chance romance! So, when I saw this one involved our heroine Ashley heading back home for the holidays and running into high school boyfriend Aidan (who is now a hunky firefighter), I couldn’t resist.

Ashley, of course, does try to resist. She continually tries to leave town to head back to Manhattan only to have her plans foiled over and over again in a way that reminded me of Groundhog Day.

Normally, I’m not a big fan of any sort of magic in my books, but I make an exception at Christmas for Hallmark movies, so I figured why not make an exception for a Hallmark book?

The magic in this book revolves around an antique charm bracelet Ashley is gifted by a stranger on her train ride home. It’s not long before she realizes that each charm on the bracelet represents something she wished for as a child at Christmas…and now each thing is coming true.

I don’t know about you, but I loved charm bracelets when I was a kid, so it brought back some fun memories. And who doesn’t love a little magic and romance at Christmastime?

I sincerely hope Hallmark decides to make Christmas Charms into a movie, because it makes me smile every time I think about it. If you need a cozy little Christmas treat, grab this one and a hot cup of cocoa and snuggle in for a good read!

I had never read a novel by Teri Wilson before nor had I seen the movie that this book is based on. So, I read it with no preconceived notion and was wonderfully entertained.

The story is about Ashley, a small town girl, who just can’t wait to get to New York City. She thinks her life is perfect as she works for the most prestigious jewelry store and has a boyfriend who she thinks is about to propose. Add to that, she is going to Paris for the holidays.

Things fall apart and she heads home to lick her wounds and get ready to go back to work. The train ride back home is uneventful except for an interesting stranger and the discovery of an antique charm bracelet on her arm when she awakens from a nap.

She runs into obstacles trying to get back to the City and in the meantime, reconnects with old friends and the man she left behind years ago.

Events start happening and somehow the charm bracelet appears to be involved. It’s up to Ashley to discover what it means.

I was provided a digital advance reader copy of this book by the publisher via Netgalley.

Ashley is getting ready to go to Paris with her boyfriend whom she believes will be her fiancé any minute, when things go a little sideways and Ashley ends up heading home back to Owl Lake for the holidays. On the train ride home, she meets a lovely elderly lady named Betty who is wearing a charm bracelet, and one who she ends up sharing her story with. When she arrives in her hometown, Betty has disappeared, but the beautiful charm bracelet Betty was wearing is tucked into a knitted stocking with a little note attached. Ashley looks for Betty and when she cannot find her, she slips the bracelet on and heads to her parent’s house.

When Ashley arrives, things start to happen that just do not make any sense to her. When her bracelet starts to “jingle”, Ashley can not help but wonder if the bracelet has anything to do with the strange but beautiful things that keep happening. The bracelet seems to be more, much more than a vintage piece of jewelry. Will this finally be Ashley’s perfect Christmas? Will her first boyfriend Aidan have anything to do with the last charm on the bracelet?

This story written by Teri Wilson was just the sweetest holiday romance. I love the twist of the bracelet and all the “coincidences” that keep happening to Ashley. All the main and supporting characters in the story were so beautifully written and I got immersed right into the beautiful small town as they prepared for Christmas. It made me want to dig out my Christmas sweater and join in the festivities. This by far is one of the best Christmas stories I have read, and I know I will be looking for more books by Ms. Wilson. Thank you so much to the author Teri Wilson, Hallmark Publishing and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the book to review. It was fabulous! All opinions expressed for this review are unbiased and entirely my own.

My heart is overflowing with Christmas cheer. When I saw mention of a small-town setting featuring a firefighting hero, I knew I needed to read this. In true Hallmark fashion, it was absolutely adorable.

With an unexpected detour in her plans of traveling to Paris with her boyfriend, Ashley is newly single and back in her hometown of Owl Lake with a charm bracelet that magically appears to be granting the Christmas of her dreams.

After continually crossing paths with an old high-school sweetheart, the one that got away, Ashley begins to wonder if her life in New York, working at a jewelry counter, is truly where her heart resides.

Filled with a toy parade, snowman building, Christmas cookies, and an adorable Golden Retriever, this one caused a permanent smile etched on my face.

There’s something about holiday romances that allows me to fully embrace the overly sweet, over-the-top happily ever afters. And with this one having a magical realism aspect, it just added to the euphoria of the holiday season. It was so much fun. I’d love to see this on the screen!

A delightful, heartwarming hallmark Christmas story set in a small town filled with magic, love and family. Everything you might want from a festive romance, beautiful setting, college sweetheart, and an adorable dog called Fruitcake. Very Christmassy. The charm bracelet will make it the Christmas of her dreams. Makes you think about what's important at Christmas, i loved remembering the childlike innocence of Christmas. All the Christmas feels. Ready to put my tree up and build a snowman. I'd love to see this as a hallmark film.

What a sweet, whimsical story. Ashley thinks she is living the high life. She works in the most prestigious jewelry shop in New York, she hasa wonderful boyfriend, and she is going to Paris for Christmas. Then everything blows up. She breaks up with her boyfriend, just before they are to go to Paris. She already has the time off, so she decides to go home. She hasn't visited often since she left for college. She meets a woman on the train who gives her a charm bracelet. All of the sudden, the charms start working their magic. This is a hallmark movie for sure. It is gentle and tugs at your heart as Ashley begins to see what is really important in her life.

The story is easy to read and delightful. The story pulled me in immediately and offered several hours hours of relaxing, enjoyable reading.

This book is absolutely charming. I really enjoyed the main character and her journey of self-discovery, made possible with elements of magical realism. It was all warm and cozy, with quaint small-town vibes. Just what I was looking for, and I knew I could count on Hallmark Publishing for it!

This is a charming novel and I would love to see the movie, I am sure it would be as good as the book. You can believe in the characters and the settings. One to curl up with and enjoy on a winters day. Plenty of twists and turns. 5 stars plus a recommendation.

Thanks to Net Galley and publisher for this ARC in return for an honest review.

I think everyone could use a little bit of Christmas magic and whimsy this year, can't we? For that, Christmas Charms has us covered!

In this book, we meet Ashley who is returning home to the small town of Owl Creek for the first time in years after her Christmas plans fall apart. On the trip home she receives a mysterious charm bracelet...and things only get more mysterious from there as the charms on the bracelet begin to come true right before her eyes. Will she get her happily ever after?

This book truly is a Hallmark Christmas movie in book form... and one I truly hope to see come to the screen at some point as others by the author have. It is romantic, it is whimsical, it puts focus on family and tradition... and most importantly, it's filled with Christmas magic! I absolutely could not get enough. Was it a little predictable at times? Maybe, but I don't mind a little predictability in a story like this... especially at the holidays. I find it comforting and just a nice, sweet read for the holiday season.

If you love a good Christmas story or are a fan of Hallmark movies/stories any time of year, this is certainly one worth checking out.

**I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley for consideration. All thoughts are 100% my own.

Join Ashley on her unexpected Christmas visit to her home town of Owl Lake. Will an unexpected gift bring her childhood wishes to life? A lovely book full of Christmas traditions.

Now, I know this is a little bit obvious to say because this book is being published by Hallmark Publishing, but I could totally see this book as a Hallmark Christmas movie.

In a way, it kind of reminded me of the ABC Family Christmas Movie that my Mom and I are such big fans of: Snowglobe. Not because the plots are in any way similar, but because in each of these stories has a sense of magic to it. You don't know why, but you know that there's something magical going on.

And I love that! But let's go back to the beginning.

Ashley is a twenty something young woman living in New York City, who goes home for the holidays after a sudden break up with her boyfriend. After three years, they realize that they both want different things for their futures. Ashley wants to know that they're headed for marriage, while Jeremy wants to travel and make money and live a life of grandeur.

That leaves Ashley with the decision to either stay with Jeremy and go to Paris for Christmas, or head home to her hometown of Owl Lake and spend the time with her family. On the train ride home, she meets a mysterious stranger who leaves her with a very special gift: an antique charm bracelet.

I loved Ashley's family. Her Mom and Dad were so sweet and I loved how excited they were by Ashley's surprise visit.

Some other things I loved about this story:
Owl Lake. It sounded like a really cute, snowy small town.
Ashley's new dog, Fruitcake (because who doesn't love a romance novel with an awesome dog in it?)
Aidan. He's Ashley's ex boyfriend and he just might be the one that got away. Ashley keeps finding herself running into him around town. He even winds up saving her a few times. He clearly doesn't trust Ashley in the beginning but as the two open up to each other over town, I felt that they made a really cute match.
Mya, Ashley's best friend. She was super supportive and helpful to Ashley. All heroines need a helpful best friend to give them good love advice! Haha.
If you're looking for a fresh Christmas romance to get you into the holiday spirit, I highly recommend Christmas Charms. It's a unique story that felt really magical. Maybe even magical enough to become a movie. (I'm looking at you, Hallmark!)

I finished three books during these last two weeks and Christmas Charms by @teriwilsonauthor was one of them. I absolutely LOVED this book!

This is my first book by Teri Wilson. The main character Ashley is living a great life in Manhattan, working at an upscale jewelry store, has a successful boyfriend, whom she's getting ready to leave for a Christmas trip in Paris with. With visions of romantic proposals swimming around in her head, what could go wrong?

Everything. Everything falls apart right before she leaves for Paris, and instead Ashley finds herself on a train headed back to her small hometown that she hasn't visited in years. After a few silly situations Ashley seems to wind up stuck along side her hometown ex-boyfriend Aidan more than she would like. If that wasn't enough, she just so happens to have a "magical" Christmas charm bracelet on her wrist that won't come off and seems to be predicting special moments in her Christmas celebrations back home.

This book was fun, filled with Christmas magic, and has a great love story! What more do you need this time of year? Highly recommend! Can't wait to read more books by Teri Wilson and will definitely reread this book again in the future!

Thank you to to NetGalley for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this holiday novel, it was a lot of fun and I can see exactly why it is from Hallmark! Ashley is a lovable heroine- it doesn't get terribly deep into her, but that's not what I want from Hallmark. We have a magical Christmas charm bracelet, we have dog, a toy parade, and Christmas cookies- that is a recipe for a sweet read!

Christmas Charms is an example of Hallmark at its finest! All the wonderful swoon-worthy moments I have come to expect in a Hallmark Holiday wrapped up neatly in a delightfully sweet, small-town romance. Ashley is on a fast track in the big city, which leaves no time for her life back home. Until a momentary wake-up call and a little Christmas magic convince her to fight for the Christmas of her dreams. I love the charm bracelet concept and smiled every time I heard the jingle, jingle. Fruitcake all but steals the show and adds a wonderful companion in addition to all the other delightful characters. I smiled, laughed out loud and sighed in satisfaction throughout this entire book. Highly recommended for all Hallmark Christmas romance and magic fans.

This was a great cozy Christmas romance book. It was a predictable story line but even with that I fell in love with both of the main characters and wanted them to get together in the end. The only thing that I did not like is that the ending felt fast and I would have loved a couple more scenes with the main characters and their relationship.

This book is a second chance romance between Ashley and Aidan with a magical charm bracelet that helps Ashley find what she is wanting for her life after a disappointment that happened before her Christmas break from work.

Yup, you guessed it, another Christmas book. It has been warming up here, Mother Nature won’t let summer go without a big goodbye. It was 80 degrees here and I decided to snuggle up and read a Christmas book. Not just any Christmas book, a HALLMARK ONE!!! The author has written so many books, but including Unleashing Mr. Darcy, one of my favorite HALLMARK movies!! The also wrote the Art of Us, yet another great HALLMARK MOVIE. OMG, it gets better, she wrote Love at the Shore, this was such a great and heartfelt movie involving a single mother as an author finding love. OK, this is RIDICULOUS! How has she been writing books for over 8 years and this is my very first book. MY deepest Apologies, Teri! I received two additional ARCs by this author, but have been too caught up in life to actually read them, but let me tell you, as soon as I get caught up, I will be circling back and reading these as if my life depended on them. We are already besties, you just don’t know it. I have watched all the books that came to life on screen through HALLMARK and thought to myself- these are genius, wonder how they originated. They originated in your head and I need to THANK YOU! You are AMAZING!
We begin this book talking about the magic of Christmas in the city. I used to work in the heart of the Christmas of the city. I worked down on 37th street for a while and would get to see all the windows at Macy’s. I then worked near Grand Central and would get off the subway and pass by the tree in the wee hours of the morning and see it all lit up and then I would wander 5th Avenue and see Saks lit up with all their window dressings, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the American Girl store and so much more. Oh Manhattan, you are missed! I miss the hustle and bustle. I do not miss the rude people, the pushing, the yelling, beeping, but the opportunities and industry.
The main character, Ashley is about to fly off to Paris to spend the holidays with her boyfriend, Jeremy and his family. Ashley works at Windsor Fine Jewelry working the charms counter. She prefers to make her own fine jewelry with a hint of nostalgia. Ashley thinks she has it all, perfect job, perfect boyfriend, apartment, etc. After an unexpected occurrence, Ashely heads home on the train for a quick visit with her parents. She meets a woman who gifts her a Charm bracelet that puts Ashley’s life into perspective. What we think we want, what we really want and what we deserve are different things! We are taken on Ashely’s journey of discovering her wants. This was such an eye opening book!
