I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The book instructs you to read a poem a day for a month, but it's a short book and I enjoyed it so I read it quicker.

These are great poems! Most are two lines at most. The titles are informative. The poems are thoughtful and fun.

This is a heartfelt collection!

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book for an honest review.
I gave 2 stars to this short book of poems. I found some poems to be really good but I didn’t get half of them. I feel like I was missing something as I was trying to understand a hidden and deeper meaning. I was perhaps looking too closely and there wasn’t any? I don’t know. I’m a bit disappointed.

I love poetry, but sometimes struggle with more “classic” deep poetry. So I decided to try this to see what it was like, and it’s so enjoyable!
31 simple, short poems, perfect for beginners at reading poetry, or for people with limited reading time (as the books instructions state to read one a day - I broke that rule though 😂).
I loved how thought provoking each poem is, encouraging reflection and self assessment - my fave poems are the ones on day 16; How To Explain Humans, and Day 5; How You Can Say What You Really Think.
Overall this is a really nice read.

Thank you to the publisher for this arc. This book was witty and fun. The poems were something we all need to read especially in the times we are living.

A Month’s Worth of Instructional Poems is a poignant collection of life-lessons. It includes advice on mundane things to more profound topics like love and broken-heartedness.

I would love a sequel/companion to this - for an entire year or one a week.

I went against the recommendation set by this book. I read it in one day instead of reading a poem a day, with all the time at hand, I just broke the rules and laughed my way through to the very end for they are short and simple instructions as the author calls them yet they speak to almost every aspect of humanity.
Thanks Netgalley for the eARC. I was particularly intrigued by how to deal with Writer's block whilst reading this and what to do when a lover lies to you...

The poems in this book are short and entertaining, yet they encourage reflection.   There are prose poems on everything from "How to Handle a Fortune Cookie Whose Prediction Cuts You to the Core, to "How to Know If It's  True Love Day" to "How to Say What You Really Think Day" and many more.

I found myself returning to this book several times so as to soak in the thoughts and feelings.  I recommend it even if you don't often read poems.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title in exchange for an honest review.

A Month's Worth of Instructional Poems by Rebecca Bridge is a collection of thirty-one musings on life and humanity that are both light and witty, while at the same time quite profound and sharply observed. There is an element of the surreal that permeates each of the poems, and all are accessible and meaningful. While the poet suggests reading only one poem per day over the course of a month, I greedily devoured them all at once. Perhaps when I allow myself a second read, I will follow instructions and draw a comparison between the differing approaches. Either way, I very much enjoyed the experience of reading this wise and wonderful collection.

Many thanks to NetGalley and V Press LC for this ARC.
