This is part of a series and it’s the weakest one so far.
There was a distinct lack of character development
The storyline is very shallow and needed more depth
Hoping the next book is back to the authors usual standard
Always a great read by Lisa Regan.
Years ago I just happened to stumble across this author and boy am I so glad I did. I bought up everything I could get my hands on and haven’t stopped.
You can’t help but love the characters and always wish for more when turning the last page.
Lisa Regan is a must read.
Another great read in the series and it was fascinating to dive into Josie's past more. Really enjoyed the twists and turns. Can't wait for the next one.
Another stunner. An epic flood, rescues, a recovered body and the beginning of looking back for Quinn.
Will she ever know who she truly is? Things keep changing and more secrets come out and with the secrets more questions than answers.
Read this as Quinn questions her very being and how Noah helps her to realize maybe just who she is.

Great thriller which kept me turning the pages well into the night. Great characters and plot. Highly recommend to others!!
Book 9 in the Detective Quinn series and it's still not getting stale! Lisa hits it out of the park every time and this one in the series kept me hooked! I didn't expect the ending which is always great.
Thank you to the publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is Book 9 of the Josie Quinn series. If you haven’t read the prior books, I highly recommend starting at Book 1. You will not regret it.
As soon as I got my hands on this; I had to stop everything! I always say to myself “I’ll just read a little bit at a time” – NOPE, can’t do it. Not with a Lisa Regan book!
I’m sure you all know by now that Lisa Regan is one of my favorite authors and this series is always the series I recommend to people! It’s just that good.
This book digs a bit more into Ray’s past, Josie’s ex-husband. Which leads Josie to confront her past, yet again. However, this time around, as much as Josie is a straight-up badass, this time it almost breaks her. There were SO many emotions in this book, that I can’t put into words.
I really love the progression of this series and the love Josie has for her family and friends! Also, let’s not forget about Noah! <3
I’m so invested in this series at this point, and I highly recommend reading these books if you want to fall in love with the characters and Lisa’s writing! It’s just an excellent series!
An emotional case for Josie sees her revisit her relationship with her now deceased ex husband Ray. This is an enjoyable book but I thought it lacked some of the tension of other books in the series. Nevertheless I read it in one sitting and look forward to the next one.
This is one of my favourite series and book 9 didn’t disappoint.
Denton is flooding fast, the relentless rain means devastation for many families, and it’s during a rescue that the body of a girl is found under the basement of a flooded house.
Discovering it’s one of her old high school enemies, and the body is dressed in her late husband’s prized high school jacket, Josie is hit with a wave of emotions she thought she had buried.
Josie goes on to unravel a web of lies and deceit involving some of the most influential members of the town, but she is determined to find out what happened.
Another excellent book, this time focussing on Josie’s high school years and the abuse she suffered at the hands of the woman she thought was her mother.
Josie Quinn one of my all time favorite Detectives. For someone looking for a great series this is one to pick up.
The story lines are always interesting and always quick reads.
Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Book 9 in the Josie Quinn series, there are still some interesting twists and a great storyline. I have missed some of the earlier books so I think its best that I go back and read them. Definitely worth reading the whole series.
This was a great paced book. Loved the setting it was captivating.! Lisa just blows me away with every book she writes. I love the connection within the characters and the way Lisa has me thinking I know whats going on but I have no idea. Please keep on writing Lisa !!
I can’t believe that this is the ninth book in the series featuring Detective Josie Quinn. The town of Denton is being flooded and Josie and her team discover a body floating down the river wrapped in a tarpaulin. It is the body of a young woman but what makes Josie’s heart race is that she is wearing an old baseball jacket that belonged to her then boyfriend, who later became her husband, who had died a few years earlier. Josie then recognised the body as Beverley Urban, who was one of Josie’s enemies from school and who had bragged that she had had a relationship with Ray. There is plenty of danger and drama ahead for Josie as witnesses and suspects protect themselves and try to stop her solving the case. We are given glimpses of Josie’s personal history as we relive some of her teenage years at high school when she first met Ray. The book is full of twists and turns and an unexpected twist at the end. I look forward to reading book number ten.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
As we all know by now I love the Josie Quinn series. Lisa Regan is such a great storyteller. There are so many great characters, I am so invested in Josie & Noah’s relationship and I adore Misty and Harris.
I’m not sure this could be read as a standalone just because all the characters have such dramatic backstories that you miss out on some of the story without that knowledge. However, that just means that you have 9 great books to read.
As with the rest of the books in this series, I was hooked until the dramatic end and I was kept guessing throughout. Some of the action was a bit unrealistic but that just adds to the drama.
I received a copy of the ebook via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
If you haven't read this series you are missing out! I can't believe it is book 9 in the series and the books just keep getting better and better! Usually when an author gets to book 9 the series has sizzled out but that's definitely not the case with Lisa Regan ! Why does a murdered body found underneath a house have Ray's letter man jacket on the body? and why does Josie know the victim as her high school bully? Was Ray a killer? So many questions that get answered in this thrilling book! I absolutely love this series and I'm so glad Lisa Regan keeps writing more because you can't help but not get very invested in Josie, Noah ,Gretchen and Missy's lives. Another captivated mystery that you will not be able to put down! Highly recommend all the book in this series!
Another great Josie Quinn book. A murder mystery that stretches back into Josie’s past with disturbing connections to her deceased ex husband which puts doubt in her mind. There are also unsettling connections with the most influential people in Denton. The past always comes back to haunt us.
EXCERPT: As she put Gretchen's phone into her pocket, she heard a siren in the distance. Her heart leapt at the thought that backup was so close, but then she realized it was just the fire company's emergency siren. The river was about to ravage the city again, and Josie and Gretchen were in it's maw, being shot at while trying to keep a wounded woman alive.
ABOUT THIS BOOK: Heavy rain pours on the small town of Denton causing the riverbanks to break and the body of a young girl to float quietly to the surface. With no crime scene to examine, the odds are against Detective Josie Quinn and her team. Mercifully, the victim’s body is perfectly preserved, right down to the baseball patch on the jacket she was wearing. Josie can’t hide her devastation—her dead ex-husband, Ray, owned one just like it.
Following the trail back to her high school, Josie identifies the girl as Beverly Urban, a troubled student rumored to have been dating Ray before she left town for good. It looks like a tragic accident until the autopsy reveals a bullet in her head and the heart-breaking secret she was keeping.
Josie visits the salon where Beverly’s mother used to work, believing she was at the heart of a terrible scandal around the time her daughter’s life was taken. With the Denton wives remaining tight-lipped, Josie’s only hope is a secret meet-up with a terrified woman willing to talk. But she is murdered moments before giving Josie crucial information. It’s clear that someone is prepared to keep on killing to stop the truth from getting out.
Digging deep into memories of her own past with Ray is the only advantage Josie has on this twisted killer… but at what cost?
MY THOUGHTS: I have really loved this series, but there are a lot of things I dislike about this particular book.
1. There is zero character development of the main characters.
2. There is zero relationship development between the characters - any of them.
3. There are too many threads to this story, all of them pretty superficial - less is more, and give what is there more depth.
4. There is no way that this could be read as a stand-alone. If I hadn't read the previous books in the series I would have been totally lost.
5. There was absolutely no benefit to the plot in using flashbacks. It was 'filler'.
6. There is a lot of shooting. A lot of fighting. Very little subtlety.
7. I felt like Lisa Regan had taken the song 'Shame and Scandal' by Madness, and turned it into a book.
7. Another case of really stretching the credibility factor. In the real world eight stitches in Josie's leg would have seen her off work, or at least confined to desk duties.
It really pains me to say this, but right now, having just closed the cover on Save Her Soul, I don't know if I will continue with this series. It had all the ingredients for a great read, but missed my mark by miles.

This is the 9th book in the Josie Quinn series and is just as good as all the others. It can be read as part of the series or as a stand alone as it gives a great deal of backstory.
It was fast paced and exciting and I couldn't put it down. The characters were totally believable and "human."
I loved this book and look forward to the next Lisa Regan.
