The author takes us on a road trip. We travel from the UK to France, Italy to finally arrive at our destination : Greece.

We learn a bit about history on our drive and it might be interesting to take a notebook and write down some (or all) of the tips that are worth a visit if you like those countries.

It was nice to see how Anna developed, learned to put herself first and as the author pointed out: no one is certain that there will be a tomorrow. So grab every chance you get to achieve your dreams and happiness.

And then there is Demi: a very fit and spritely septuagenarian who is full of life. What will this trip have in store for her...?

A great story that put a smile on my face and warmed my heart. It felt so real that is was as if I traveled with them. 5 stars.

Thank you, Sue Roberts and Bookouture.

I really wanted to love this book--it had an adorable cover, took place in Greece (where my parents used to live, and I've visited) and was premised on a young protagonist and quirky older neighbor roadtripping together. So much potential! But ultimately, so little happened in this book I hardly have anything to talk about. What did happened was presented in such a way that made it utterly boring. Anna decides to take a road trip from England to Greece with her 70-year-old neighbor to scatter her dad's ashes in the place he loved vising as a young man. While on this journey, Anna meets a handsome traveler and her neighbor reconnects with family. There are no moments of excitement, intrigue, or romance in this book. The budding romance between Anna and the traveler (Dana) feels so forced, or at least unexplained, you wonder why they're together at all, or, I guess, why it's more than a vacation fling. Nothing in the novel makes me believe these two are destined for each other. I also find it incredibly implausible that Anna would go from a well-to-do corporate job to becoming a hairdresser. Not because that's a bad career choice, but because it requires numerous steps of additional schooling, licensure, and training before she can make the transition. It would have made much more sense for her to pick up something with less transition steps, even within the creative field, like painting or photography. Everything else is incredibly predictable, presented either in long descriptive paragraphs that read more like a travel guide than a novel or incredibly stilted dialogue that feels too formal for actual speech. I would say the novel could benefit from MORE dialogue, instead of so much time of Anna by herself or alone with her thoughts , but I'm not sure that would make a difference. The book is also entirely lacking in humor. Sure, there are moments of amusement (like the 70-yo beating up some thieves), but nothing is really FUNNY in a way that makes me want to laugh. This book is entirely forgettable, but at least it was a quick read.

Some Like It Greek is Sue Roberts latest book and I found it impossible to put down. It follows Anna, her father has recently passed away and to honour his memory she decides to drive his camper van from Manchester to Kefalonia. Tagging along for the ride is her dad’s no nonsense sixty nine year old neighbour Demi, originally from Kefalonia. What ensues is a great tale as they travel through France. Switzerland and Italy before finally arriving in Greece. It’s a fun filled tale featuring family, secrets and love interests, plus a very healthy helping of gorgeously described Greek food and beautiful vistas. I can highly recommend this book. Thank to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the chance to review.

A perfect summer read with the right ending. I loved the journey descriptions through Europe. The finding of the son was ace. A great enjoyable book

The first thing that drew me to this book was its beautiful summery cover, with it’s blue skies and sandy beaches. It looked so enticing I just knew I had to read it! We meet Anna who has just been made redundant. Her life’s in a bit of slump, having lost her dad recently and her relationship ending. Finding a map and an old postcard of the Greek island of Kefalonia amongst her dad’s belongings, Anna decides to use her redundancy money to complete her dad’s journey. Taking her neighbour and friend, Demi along, Anna undertakes a road trip of a lifetime in her dad’s old campervan!

This book has a tag line of being a completely laugh out loud romantic comedy. Whilst it wasn’t, for me, as ‘laugh out loud’ as I thought, it was however a wonderful, emotional, light-hearted and romantic read filled with some funny and tender moments and plenty of life lessons to be learnt along the way! The first few chapters had me reading through teary eyes with Anna sorting through her dad’s possessions, a reminder of when I’d lost my own dad. I loved the idea of Anna going to Greece to complete her dad’s route on the map, although I have to admit Anna was a lot braver than I would be – I would have just taken the plane!! I also loved the whole journey, stopping at all the places en route, with the author’s clever writing making me feel like I was actually there with them.

Obviously, this is a romance, so there is a love interest for Anna along the way! And, who could blame her to be honest with the charms of the handsome Irish backpacker! I loved his character and really enjoyed how their friendship developed. There were also other storylines running alongside Anna’s from a couple of the different characters, but mainly to do with Demi’s return to her home village after so many years away. I loved Demi’s character and though she was a wonderful woman for her age! I certainly hope I fare as well as she does when I’m that age!

This book was an entertaining and emotional journey across Europe, with two women who both had different reasons for being there. Their own personal stories bought tears to my eyes at times and smiles on my face at others! The locations throughout the book were beautiful and very well described – I could feel the heat from the sun and sand between my toes as I read! A word of warning however, do not eat this book whilst you are dieting!! It is filled with so many descriptions of delicious sounding dishes from all the way through the journey and they certainly made my stomach rumble and my mouth water!! I really enjoyed this book and the author has done a fabulous job of making me feel like I was actually there with them, experiencing the sights, sounds and tastes just as they did! This is a heart-warming and delightful story of friendships, family, love and loss, and one which I would definitely recommend!!

OMG I am so thank8to NetGalley and the author for letting me read this masterpiece.
I posted a detailed review on my goodreads and bookstagram so I will kepp it short and brief.
I loved this book and I was completely engrossed in it. I even procrastinated writing my research paper because of it (*that says something, right?).
I loved Anna. I like it how she embraced her shortcomings and her life so beautifully. I loved her efforts of rebonding with her sister, Liz. I love the sincere friendship between her and Roz and also with Demi.
I loved both Roz and Demi. They had their own charm. Demi's sacrifice broke my heart and I so so wanted her happy ending. I was bit suspicious of Dara somewhere around chapter 20+. But that's the charm of a book to make a reader guess about everything. Ohh and the wild guess that I made about him (clue: Demi) but I think that wouldn't have made much sense so I'm glad I was wrong 🤣.
I liked it how Joel had little share in the book. I mean his description was brief amd precise. His role was important in Anna's character building.
The adventures ignited the spark of desire of travelling around the world which is impossible for me sadly.
The best thing was that it was full of wisdom. I don't mean that complicated and difficult philosophical wisdom but rather easy amd simple that makes one think and rethink about life. I quoted few of them in my reviews (it was so ling that i had to continue it in tbe comments to complete it on my bookstagram 🤣).
I loved it so much that I could go on writing about it but I don't want to make you feel bored. I could even start a fanfic about it 😂.
I will definitely but it when it gets released. I would like to read more from the author.
5 stars and highly recommended. You would be missing a gem if you didn't read it.

What a beautiful story of love, friendship, family, and self forgiveness.
After the funeral for Anna's father, she is cleaning out his house when she finds the maps he used many years ago to go on an adventure in Europe with his friends. To pay tribute to his memory she decides to clean out his van and take a road trip following the path her father took. Her elderly neighbor , Demi, has always been close to the family and is from Greece. She has not been back to her home in many years and decides to make the journey with Anna to reconnect with her family for her 70th birthday,. Their journey brings many secrets to light, self revelations, and special friendships.
Loved this story with some sad, some laughs, and a lot of adventure.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

2 1/2 out of 3 stars

This book had... a lot going on. There were so many converging stories that it felt like none of them were entirely well done. Anna misses her father. Anna has job trouble. Anna and Liz have a troubled sibling relationship. Anna meets a handsome stranger. Demi has hidden secrets from her past. The list goes on. The characters were faced with obstacle after obstacle, but each one seemed to be resolved in the blink of an eye, by the most remarkable of coincidences. It was just difficult to believe as a reader and I found myself getting increasingly frustrated by each encounter.

The second half of the book picked up slightly from the first. And there's no denying that the descriptions of the food and the scenery were beautiful. But in the end I still couldn't get past my feeling that each and every plot point got wrapped up with a neat and tidy (and not altogether interestingly colored) bow.

Reading the cover description, it's easy to believe this novel will be a quick, fun summer beach read. And maybe for some, that's what it will be. Who knows? But for me, it was a bit of a disappointment.

I started this book and really enjoyed it. Very cute and a lovely idea for a book.

Loved the meeting of Dara and thought it was well written.

The only thing that I didn’t enjoy was the storyline around Demi and the adoption of her son. Adoption is very close to me and there are so many layers to it that I felt were not considered in this book. It’s an upsetting and traumatic subject that requires more perspective (in my opinion)

Aside from that I did enjoy it and would read more from this author.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

Another fabulous book from Sue.

Anna's clearing out her fathers house after he’s passed away.

She comes across items from his past, mainly postcards from his travels before she was born.

As she’s had some news from her bosses regarding her job, she thinks of going on a road trip to Greece.

She asks a neighbour of her parents and family friend Demi for the ride if she’s like to come along and together they embark on their trip.

Demi, as they’re on the road, reveals her secret past and why she runaway from Greece all those year's ago and that’s she’s not sure she’s doing the right thing all these years later.

Will Demi be welcomed back with open arms or is she right to doubt this trip?????
Also, Anna, can she enjoy life, after all that’s happened and live for the moment or will she too have doubts????

Reading this book, I wished I was with them on their road trip.

Recommend it.

This author is absolutely fantastic, I am always completely gripped by her books and this one has been no different. I have devoured this gorgeous read in just over and hour and I have loved it. It is definitely my favourite so far.
This has been an absolutely wonderful read and as with all of Sue's books, you really feel as though you are right there with the characters. This i]has definitely been the perfect escape from the comfort of my own garden.
I have loved Anna, she is so real and likeable that I have felt that I know her which has made this an even better read. You can't help but want the best for her as you follow her adventures throughout the book.
I highly recommend this absolutely gorgeous read by a hugely talented author. I cannot say anything negative about this one. This is without a doubt a five star read.

Oh what a joy to read.

Anna's father has passed away and whilst clearing out his house she comes across his past which takes her on a road trip to Greece. Taking along an old family friend Demi for the ride.
Along the way Demi reveals her secret past and what made her runaway from Greece all those year's ago.

Can Demi go back to her past?
Can Anna enjoy life and live for the moment?

As any of Sue's books they are simply wonderful and makes you really feel like you are there. It really makes me want to go to Greece. So well written and loved being part of the road trip though such beautiful countries.

This is truly magical and just what I needed to read.

Thank you Bookouture for the opportunity to review this wonderful book

Anna is at a crossroads in her life: her father has just passed, and a job she hasn’t ever really enjoyed is laying people off. While going through her father’s effects, she finds pictures of him from his youth making a trip around Europe and ending in Greece along with maps and notations about a trip he was planning to take back to Greece before he died. An older and dear friend of her family has not been back to her home in Greece since she was 18, and thus starts a fun filled trip in an old camper from England.

The vivid descriptions of their journey make you feel like you are along for the ride, and taking a trip with these two characters is never boring with all the adventures that pop up along the way. This was a lovely story of self discovery, of homecoming, and of forgiveness.

Some Like It Greek by Sue Roberts is a summery escapist read that will have you longing for a holiday in the Greek isles. I have been fortunate to have read several novels from Ms Roberts, and found this one to be just as delightful and charming as I had expected it to be.

Anna is still processing the grief of losing her father when she is unexpectedly made redundant from her job. Desperate for a change of scene, she decides to take a trip to Greece, one that her father had mapped out, specifically to Kefalonia. Determined to retrace her father's journey of years before, Anna recruits friend and neighbour Demi, a nearly seventy year old woman who was born and raised in Greece before making her life in England. Both Anna and Demi are eager to embark on the holiday, albeit for different reasons, but neither could have anticipated how the journey will forever change their lives.

This is a fast-paced, lighthearted read that will certainly hit the spot if you are seeking a pleasant escape to sun and sea. Recommended.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC.
