I don’t think I am the target reader of this book. Agatha started off as cute quirky, someone you wouldn’t mind having in your book club because she’s well read and funny in an abrasive, tells it like it is way. But the cattiness of the other moms seemed over the top to me. And some of the dialogue as well. Honestly I found most of the characters to be little more than stereotypes and not very interesting ones at that. Some of it was just downright not believable. The Facebook comments, the dialogue between Agatha and her therapist, etc. Ultimately I think I’m about 15 years too old for this book and I’m actually kind of glad about it. I do of course wish the author great success. *Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this e-book in exchange for an honest review*

Ultimately, the book was decent by the end, but these 4 things were my bones to pick:

- Build a bear story doesn’t add up, Agatha is 35 and build a bear was founded 22 years ago when she was 13, not 3
- The collective pronouns list became annoying as well

- Sex scene was unbearably awkward with her yelling and acting embarrassingly quirky

- I wish there was something written about the book she was writing!

Agatha has been compared to the likes of Bernadette and it's not far off. The book follows Agatha who has some pretty strange fears, an outspoken tendency in her fb mom's group, and unwritten novel looming over her head. She also has the little incident with her husband that sets the story in motion. "Agatha Arch is Afraid of Everything" is a light, funny, and quick read that will have you laughing out loud and talking about her facebook mom's group long after the last page.

When looking for an uplifting read, I came across this novel. The premise really grabbed my attention as it sounded adorable, funny and intriguing. Unfortunately, Agatha Arch is Afraid of Everything did not live up to my expectations. At first it seemed a little quirky and somewhat funny but then it just seemed scattered and all over the place. After the first 20%, I started skimming and hoped that it would improve, however, I quickly realized that the scattered thoughts of Agatha would continue throughout. When I got to 55%, I understood that this novel was not for me and that I was the wrong reader for this book.

Thank you to the publisher for the arc.

This book was an okay read for me. I had high hopes of another "Where'd You Go, Bernadette," but the titular character lacks a lot of Bernadette's charm. The plot improved as the book went on, but felt stalled as Agatha spent a great deal of time provoking the other moms in a Facebook group. The end of the book tied the story together nicely, but I wish the middle had been more engaging.

I was surprised and delighted by how much I enjoyed this book!

I found myself drawn into Agatha's world, from her destroyed shed to her cutsey nickname for her therapist and the moms she follows on Facebook almost immediately. To be clear Agatha is not particularly likable in the beginning or even by the middle. But the story is so fascinating!

Agatha Arch is truly afraid of everything - even beans. Which leads her to jump to wild conclusions, some more relatable than others. But Agatha goes above and beyond in terms of spying and other things that perhaps we sometimes fantasize about doing in a rage but would never actually do. Seeing how and why Agatha spirals and the lengths she'll go to is terrifying and funny at times.

This book also shows how people change, even small changes, and while it is subtle and doesn't belabor the point I felt it rounded out a good story. Agatha is over the top and hard to stop watching because she's out of control and she's the only one who doesn't know it.

This is a fairly cute and captivating read.

This book was a bit funny at times, but overall the main character was just too "crazy" and obnoxious. I don't know why anyone would want to be her friend and I'm surprised the husband didn't leave sooner although he was a real jerk too. ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.

Agatha Arch is Afraid of Everything was compared to Where'd You Go Bernadette, a book which I did enjoy and so I requested this from NetGalley.  However, I found this to be not in the same vein as Bernadette.  Agatha comes across as seriously mentally ill, somewhere along the lines of Borderline Personality Disorder, and in need of some significant treatment (more than her therapist casually suggesting that perhaps she shouldn't use a drone to spy on her husband and his new girlfriend in their bedroom).  I did not find her funny or quirky as the blurb suggested.  Her behavior was criminal stalking and alarming.  The social media posting outtake portions were not of any interest to me, but perhaps I'm not the right demographic to appreciate them.

When I read the excerpt for this book, I liked what it read and decided to give it a try. Sadly, I couldn't connect with the main character or the plot. It reads as too young for me, and is filled with paranoia, angst and a lot of social media. This book was just not for me. I believe the target audience is for women under 40.

I would like to thank Alcove Press and Netgalley for the opportunity to this book and exchange for a fair and honest review.

Sadly this one didn't hit the mark for me and I found many parts to be annoying. To be fair, I'm probably not the intended demographic though.

Reading the concept of the book and liking what I read, decided to give this a try. A lot of too young for me angst and social media. Not for me. Would recommend if you were under 40.
