I really enjoyed this book! Touching and heartwarming. Amy always has a lesson for readers to learn in all her books. Did not disappoint here.
It dorsn't seem to have a win win situation in this story and Tillie has to figure a way to come back and be Amish with a baby but not the baby's father. Levi is mourning his recently departed wife and just wants to be alone. This book helps both of them through the confusion and turmoil going on inside each of them. When a storm forces them to be together feelings grow but seem impossible to go anywhere.
A must read to see what happens!

This is an absolutely enthralling book to read by Amy Lillard. An Amish Husband for Tillie is my favorite tale in the Amish of Pontotoc series now. It was wonderful to catch up with Tillie’s sisters and other family members through her story.

Tillie’s return to her Amish family is challenging as everyone is happy with their lives. She realizes her life is complicated being pregnant and not married but she wanted one more Christmas with family. There are multiple twists and turns in the story that bring moments of anguish and despondency that she leaves her family to find solitude. The compassion of Levi Miller brought tears as he cared for Tillie when he found her during an ice storm. The shock of Melvin coming when she returned home only brought more turmoil. Will Tillie be able to leave as the Bishop instructed? Or will Melvin be able to seek forgiveness from the church and return to the community?

This is a beautiful story of faith, trust, forgiveness and romance centered on the message of God’s love at Christmas. I highly recommend reading each book in the series to appreciate the true to life events that these Amish characters endure.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for an e-copy of the book where no positive review was required. I have expressed my own sincere thoughts.

Tillie Gingerich leaves her Amish community with who she considered to be the love of her life, Melvin Yoder. When she discovered how wrong she had been, she returns to her community alone, unmarried, and very pregnant.

Her family welcomes her, but will her community?

Will Levi Yoder and Tillie find happiness and be able to use a Christmas miracle to bring a promise of a happy feature?

Faith, love and trust are the main theme in this book. I feel that fans of Amish fiction will love this book just as much if not more than I did.
I love how God orchestrates things don't you? I know I do and this book does an excellent job in showing that.
I'm glad that Tillie finally got her own story! Yay! I certainly enjoyed in getting to know her and from the very beginning I felt I already knew her from the previous books.
This woman definitely has courage. More than anyone I"ve met in real life. I wish I were more like her. Her, not her circumstances in life. However: they can happen to anyone and how different people handle it makes a difference.
My heart went out to Levi. I won't say why because I don't want to give away any more things about this book.
Grief has no time limit and some people heal in their own way.
I know it took me a long time to get over my loss. It's not easy so I certainly sympathized with Levi.
Lillard has done an excellent job of telling this story. She definitely makes you turn the pages to see what happens to Levi and Tillie.
I appreciate it because of the inspirational messages that were woven throughout the book. It's one of the many reasons why I love Amish fiction.
My many thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review for this book and all opinions are my own.

My Thoughts:

I often read reviews where one of the comments used over and over again is, “The story was so predictable.” Generally when this comment is used, it is used in a negative connotation, as in, “Don’t read it. Don’t waste your time.” However, that isn’t my way of thinking. I feel that even when I can predict that all will end with a happy ending, the fun in reading the story is in the “how” it’s going to end up with a happy ending. What is the sequence of events that will take the story from point A to the “predictable” ending? This turns the predictable to unpredictable, and that’s what makes a story so enjoyable, the unpredictable how. Such is the case with An Amish Husband for Tillie.

This is one time where I feel that giving details about the story will spoil the main characters’ journeys. Therefore, I refuse to go down that rabbit hole. What I can say is this. Tillie and Levi’s journeys will have you turning pages to see what is happening next. It will draw you into the story in a way that will feel like you’re there experiencing everything with them. There are funny parts and sad parts. There are times where you’ll become frustrated, yet other times where you’ll feel happy and hopeful. Through the emotional roller coaster ride that the story will take you on, what comes through over and over is a story of hope, forgiveness, trust in God, and new beginnings. Enjoy the ride. You won’t be disappointed.

The fourth in the Amish of Pontotoc finds a pregnant Tillie wanting to be accepted back in her home with her Amish family. Her boyfriend Melvin is wrapped up in a English life that Tillie now does not want. I was surprised by some of the rules of this Amish group and how ridged they were. I liked Levi but his sister although meaning well, was too pushy at times. Looking forward to more stories about the community. Hopefully Mims' story will be told. Recommended!

I really enjoyed this book. I really felt bad for Tillie the way the church was treating her after coming back home, alone and pregnant. So glad she found Levi. What a great twist on a love story.

Amy Lillard is one of my most favorite authors, I gave this book five stars not because she’s my favorite but because the book the story was awesome, I read the book about Hannah.coming back and marrying Aaron her son’s father but I can’t recall if Tillie was mentioned in it. Melvins ending was sad but having someone who understands your grief and to go through the process with you makes it so much easier. I would love to know why Mims and David were no longer together but maybe that’s a different story for a different book.

Another hit for Lillard! The Pontotoc series is one of my favorites and this is an excellent addition. I particularly like that it paints an Amish community forced to interact with the English world to survive. It also shows the difficult decisions young people have prior to joining the church. Tillie and Levi make for a terrific story. I appreciate the folding in of Mennonite and non-Plain family too. Fun read, could not put it down.

Tillie Gingerich is so in love with Melvin Yoder she leaves all she has ever known in their Pontotoc Amish community to live with him in the English world. When Tillie discovers the grass is not always greener on the other side, she returns to their Amish community at Christmas time. She is unhappy, unmarried, and pregnant and hopes Melvin will miss her and follow her. Among the Amish in Pontotoc will she find forgiveness, or will she be shunned by her family and community? A heartwarming and inspirational story of hope, love, and the true meaning of a miracle at Christmas. This is book number four in the Amish of Pontotoc series. Each is stand alone.
I received a complimentary copy from Net Galley. The opinions are my own.

This is book 4 of The Amish of Pontotoc Series. Amy is such a great author and touches on real-life problems, which also touch the lives of the Amish people. Tillie finds herself going home to her Amish town and family. She has much to think about as she realizes what her future may hold for her as she heads home. Pregnant and single, she returns to her family. But how will she be accepted by family, friends and Amish community? Uncertain as to how the father of her child with respond, she realizes that she does want to be Amish, but in her condition, things may not go well.

Levi, a young Amish man, who recently became widowed is so unhappy and full of grief and finding a pregnant woman during a sudden storm is not something he expects or wants to become involved with.

The story is very touching, and full of tender moments. As Christmas quickly approaches, the bishop of her community tells her she must make life determining decisions very soon thereafter. What will the future bring?

Such a good book.. It's very enjoyable to read and a feel good book you will love!

I received an ebook copy from NetGalley and the author. All thoughts are my own.

Amy has totally done it again!!!!! This book has so many twists and turns and it is definitely not one you should read the ending first. Tillie want to return home and she is pregnant but how does one return home. You are not the same, the people you love are not the same and you have come home with major problems and concerns...then the book starts with introducing Levi and other characters that Tillie has known all her life but how is this all going to work out for her. Whom will she actually end up with and how will everything come together per the ordinances of the church. This is an absolute must read book and you will find so many friends that you have followed before and find out where they are at in their lives right now......Hit a home run on this one AMY.

An Amish Husband For Tillie ( Amish Of Pontotoc #4 )
By: Amy Lillard
After leaving home to be in the English world, Tillie returns to her Amish home. Tillie knows what she wants, but will she be able to do it? Will her family welcome her back home or will they shun her? This story deals with love, hurt, and forgiveness. Loved the story and the characters were vivid.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book , but was not told that I had to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.

First book I have read by this author but I am interested in reading more. Interesting book with an interesting twist!

Tillie Gingerich is an Amish girl who has left her way of life along with her boyfriend, Melvin Yoder to go out into the English world. With the holidays, especially Christmas, coming Tillie finds herself missing her family. She also is pregnant but she & Melvin have not married. She doesn't feel like he is interested in ever marrying her so she decides to go back home for awhile. Her family welcomes her back with open arms but the bishop of their community is not so easy to deal with. He tells her that the only way she is welcome to stay is if Melvin comes back & they get married after confessing to the church. In the meantime, Tillie meets Levi Yoder who has recently been widowed. They strike up a friendship.

On Christmas Eve, Tillie doesn't feel like she has any chance of staying so she proceeds to run away. While she is out on the road in an ice storm walking with no real source of protection, she ends up at Levi's house where she ends up staying the night in the extra room because of the weather. While there, she goes into labor & ends up having her baby. From here, the story gets somewhat tangled because she & Levi have become pretty good friends but then Melvin ends up coming back into the picture also. Right up to almost the end of the book, the reader is left wondering what will happen with the triangle relationship.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book & would recommend it . I would like to thank the publisher, Zebra & Net Galley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.

Tillie Gingerich finds herself in a bad situation. She left the Amish with her childhood sweetheart Melvin Yoder who wanted to live in the English world. But now she is back for Christmas with her family and she is pregnant. She and Melvin are not married. She will have to leave very soon if Melvin does not come back and join the church and marry her. Meanwhile she meets Levi Yoder (no relation to Melvin), who has recently lost his wife and infant son. They become friends and help each other out. It’s quite a conundrum and is resolved in an interesting way.

I really enjoyed this book and will look for previous books in this series to read. I recommend this book to friends who like this genre.

I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

I love reading Amish fiction, and this was one of the best ones I've ever read. I loved the main character, Tillie, as well as Levi. I felt really invested in both of their lives and anxious to see where the story was going to go!

I have always loved reading Amish novels or novellas. The simple lifestyle, the rules of the Ordung, the clothes, buggies, etc all really amaze me. Reading the books take me to a simple time and I can imagine everything going on in the book.
This book was also able to bring me right into their world with the imagery Amy Lillard painted.
There was a little predictability in the book that went back and forth some. At times I figured I knew what would happen, then something would happen and I'd think ok, it's not going to end as i thought.
It was a well written book, there is some editing that still needs to be done to fix some areas.
I did enjoy the book, I felt sad for the main character Tillie and for the other main character Levi. I felt the pull of attraction between them almost from the beginning but they fought it.
The other characters are relatable a d very enjoyable! I very much enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more by Amy Lillard!

I picked up this book (thank you Netgalley for my ARC!) because I remembered being absolutely hooked on Lurlene McDaniel’s Angels Triology about an “English” girl and a “Amish” boys’ romance… so I was eager to re-enter the Amish world for a bit of faith and romance when I saw this book.

This is a story that is centered around the theme of “time”. Time to heal. Time to stay. Time to wait. Time. It’s mentioned by both Tillie and Levi constantly. It actually was an interesting plot driver.

The other theme of this book is family – specifically doing what is right to make your family happy, or sacrifice things for their happiness, and both Levi and Tillie truly live this with all of their decisions.

It talks about wanting an unplanned pregnancy, being unable to view the joy of a baby as a sin, and about the complications of growing apart from your first love. It delves into the grief of loss, and how unexpected circumstances, can lead us out of the darkness and back on the path of light.

I was actually wondering how the love triangle would work out and I have to say the twist at the end felt like a bit of lazy writing. I think that the author’s other books dealt with conflict the same way.

I loved Levi and Tillie’s scenes the most (of course, it’s a romance!) but it was a slow burn, and to be honest, a deep friendship that kept them connected through their hardships.

I gave this book 3 stars because of the twist – sorry! I almost feel like the book could’ve been longer and I would’ve enjoyed finding another way “out” for our main characters.
