I listened to this story on audiobook. This was a great book for kids that are learning to become independent. It defiantly explained the importance of being clean and why we should clean our bodies. The narrator was good, however I think with children the importance of seeing the book’s pictures are important. Overall a good book for young children.

The book is called Take A Bath but it’s all about germs. While I thought the content was good the title doesn’t fit very well. The author talks about bathing, germs, washing hands, etc . It’s a good book for young kids to learn about germs. I listened to the book and the narrator was good.

It’s All About the Germs!

While this book is called “Take a Bath!,” it's really more about germs. Yes, of course, the discussion of the importance of bathtime happened, but it was in the context of getting rid of germs; most things discussed revolved around germs. (Funny, but when I was a kid, I just thought of baths as a way of getting clean—not a thought about germs whatsoever!) I like that they included that some “germs” are beneficial. Not only was bathtime discussed, but also tooth brushing. The author gave detailed instructions on how to wash your hands thoroughly as well. I was given the audiobook version of this at one of my favorite book review sites, and I do wonder about the pictures that go along with this text. I wasn't particularly wild about the narrator. To me, his tone sounded a little condescending, like he was talking down to the kids. Especially in the instructional parts, I thought he sounded bossy and perhaps even a little demanding. Kids are pretty savvy about these tones and don't particularly like them. He also reminded me of the somewhat wooden-sounding narrators I remember from my own childhood back in the 70s, the ones who narrated those AV films we watched back in the day. Also, for some reason, there seems to be a problem with the audio. I'm not quite sure what, but the voice was not clear like I've heard in other audiobooks. Maybe some feedback or an effect gone wrong? At the very end of the book, there's a simple game called Pass the Germs that uses flour to show how easily germs can be transmitted. All in all, I wasn't particularly wild about this audiobook as I didn't like the narrator. The book itself may be fine if you want to teach your child about germs.

Cute fun story that explains germs to kids in a simple way to help them understand. We enjoyed the activity suggestion at the end to help visually grasp the concept of germs spreading.

The audio quality was a bit off and muddled so that made if a little hard to understand at times, but we adjusted and since it’s a children’s book we didn’t have to deal with it for long.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This book is super informative and still fun. Honestly, I think it’d be a good one to read with kids (or anyone) to help them understand everything going on in the world right now and why the adults in their lives are so concerned. It’s not about COVID19, but the information on germs is still very relevant and timely. This book also teaches about proper hygiene habits. There’s even a hands on activity at the end.

The content is presented in a kid friendly way. As someone with anxiety who grew up as a huge germaphobe - this book won’t make your kid obsessed. It sounds like it’ll foster a healthy attitude toward germs and cleanliness.

The narration is clear and fits with the tone of the story. It was a fun listen and I’ll keep an eye out for other books by this author. Overall, I would highly recommend this book & the audiobook version as well.

This is a great listen to help kids learn the importance of germs and helping to stop the spread. Personally there is a lot of adults that I know need to listen as well. With Covid 19 I feel this book is super important to get into the hands of parents and kids!!

A fun addition to an independent reading station, this book is timely and appropriate for pre & emerging readers who ask the age old question, “why do I have to take a bath?”

The narrator’s pace was steady & easily listenable. His enunciation and intonation were clear & his chapter delineations were easy to follow.

This was educational. It would be good for early STEM learning. I listened to the audiobook, which was clear and well-read. I wasn’t sure how it would be to listen to a children’s book, and not be able to see any pictures or illustrations, but this totally works. You can get some of that childish voice coming through in the writing, and that is really great.

It’s especially timely, as it talks a lot about germs and cleanliness, which is a big topic of conversation during this pandemic. It also has an activity at the end that parents can do with kids to help better demonstrate how germs spread. I thought that was a nice touch. It’s short and to the point. Overall, I liked it and think it would be a useful book to read and discuss with kids.
