This was my first manga and I was so stoked to read this. Although I like the chemistry between the two main characters and I loved the artwork, the story was confusing. It was confusing in a way that even after I read that particular portion of the book 2 times... I still couldn't decipher the meaning! It was frustrating at times, how the story didn't make sense. I am not sure if I would wanna give the second volume a chance but I can see this as a great anime series. As for my actual rating—it is 2.25 stars.

A very interesting manga series that I will definitely be keeping my eye on in the near future. The characters and setting were extremely unique and there were humorous elements that I really enjoyed.

This was such a great first volume of this manga. We got just enough of a taste to really get hooked. I can't wait for volume 2!

This manga follows Lizel, who wakes up in a world that is very similar to his own but clearly not the same. After exploring town a bit, he employs the services of Gil, an adventurer, to help him on his journey back home. The two seem to get along and there seems to possibly be a hint at something more? Maybe we'll find out in later volumes.

This was really cute! I enjoyed the story and the dynamics between the characters - the overly cheerful one and the grumpy one is a favorite trope of mine. The art is lovely and I just wanted to keep looking at the gorgeous world portrayed.

I did feel a bit confused by the plot, and it did feel rather short and abrupt, but as this is based on a series I haven't read, that makes sense. I would definitely want to continue this series, and possibly chase down the series this is based on.

A classic isekai full of laughter, adventure and tender moments! Lizel is the type of protagonist I like to see in manga—laid back, not one to panic and makes the best out of the situation. Meanwhile, Gil is your typical infamous adventurer hired to aid our protagonist. The art style was also quite lovely and could only be described as soft and inviting. The extremely delightful and charming friendship dynamic, fantasy world building, and mysteries are what made me keep reading, and is sure to keep me interested in reading future volumes!

: It was short and adorable. The art style is gorgeous and I enjoyed every second of it! I’m definitely looking forward to continuing with the series as soon as I can.
The only downside I could find was that it wasn’t a very original idea but I loved how it was executed!

What a fun series! I discovered this manga series purely by luck and I was charmed. I love to try new and fun series and this one sounded just like something I might like. And I was right!

Lizel is a lovely and charming nobleman who founds himself isekaied to the world similar to his own, but not really. First volume sums up his first month of the adventures of the new world. To blend in, he hires a young adventurer Gil to help him settle down and start a career as an adventurer. Lizel wants to enjoy his new vacation to his fullest before he gets back home. He does.... right?

First of all, art itself was really clean and neat and really nice to look at. Storywise, we get to meet our main characters, Lizel and Gil. We also get to see the new world Lizel ends up in. There's a lot of classic fantasy adventuring in the guild going on, so if you love that type of stuff, you'll be pumped. Authors also focus on blooming master-companion relatinship between Gil and Lizel, which I really enjoyed.

A Gentle Noble's Vacation Recommendation is a little fun series I'd enjoy to everyone who wants to relax and enjoy some simple but cute story.

A Gentle Noble's Vacation Recommendation, Vol. 1, by Misaki, Momochi, and Sando
★★★★★
208 Pages

With incredibly beautiful artwork and a clever, unique plot, A Gentle Noble's Vacation Recommendation combines a dash of adventure, a slip of mystery, a hint of potential romance, and a budding friendship to give us a story that keeps your attention from start to finish.
The plot is cool, original and intricate, with hints of more to come, suggestions of secrets yet to be revealed, and a running storyline that has a distinct beginning, middle and end, while leaving more for further volumes.
The characters are well written, well explored, and given time to shine. The way they're drawn means that they're not only consistent, but there are no chibi characters for smaller panels, which is a pet peeve of mine. I love when the characters are visually distinct, individual and clearly recognisable, even in the smallest panels. Their gestures, mannerisms, and facial features are all unique to the characters, too, which helps to show their character more clearly. Another pet peeve that was avoided was the overabundance of “sounds” that can happen in manga, especially yaoi. This story avoided that, only using the most necessary notations, and I was so happy. It kept the story panels crisp, clear and really easy to read, follow and adore!
The attention to detail meant that, while I was reminded of some of my favourite mangas – Black Butler, Monster and the Beast – I never felt the similarities were in more than the feel and vibe. The characters didn't look, act or sound the same. But the atmosphere has that same distinct, clear, unique historical vibe with a paranormal twist.
I'm holding out hope for a romance in the future, because I'm a massive BL and MM reader, and I see lots of potential here.
I loved it so much I immediately bought my paperback and will be re-reading it as soon as it arrives. As soon as I get paid, Vol. 2 will be in my shopping cart.

Favourite Panel

I love how you can see the characters personalities in this panel. One, strong and fierce, a little standoffish and threatening, while the other is lax, lazy and playful. Everything from the posture, hairstyle, outfit and facial features tells you everything you need to know about these characters, right here in this one panel.

Review to come to blog/goodreads on September 4th.

I received this manga from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

Meet Lizel, a nobleman who finds himself in a city that looks like his.. but isn't. He decides to stay calm and enjoy the time off. Yep. The premise to this manga sounds amazing and of course I had to click the Read Now.

From the start I loved Lizel. How calm he was, how he didn't waver or panic despite how people looked at him. I loved how he inventorized his situations and decided to get some items by selling some of his things. How he calmly went looking for information and people to trust. It was actually quite hilarious how calm Lizel was. Nothing fazed him and I could already see the direction this story would be going and I was very eager for it.
I loved how he asked Gil all the questions and adapted to life at the town/world. Of course, still determined to get back, but why not relax first. :P He is really laid-back it seems, though I wonder if it is all an act or not (we do get some hints later on, which made me happy and excited, Lizel in serious mode is just *swoons*).
I had such a big laugh at how Lizel was in the mornings, or I should specify, when it is high time he gets out of bed.

Gil was another fantastic character, oh and totally my type. :P He has ego, but I also could see he was actually quite friendly inside. I was curious to see why he was only rank B, why he went solo, and oh yes, why his nickname. Thankfully, the mangaka gives us all the answers.

Oh, and is it bad that I totally shipped Gil and Lizel together? They just had some kind of chemistry going on and also their banter and chats. Squee!

I loved seeing the town, see how one becomes an adventurer (though it seems to be the same as many other books featuring adventurers), I love seeing the monsters, and oh yes the weapons. Lizel seems to have quite a fancy one. And we meet new people!

The art was just fabulous, I really liked the style of it, plus the expressions on characters faces was just hilarious and great. I often had quite a laugh about it.

All in all, this volume features Lizel's first month in his new surroundings and I had a lot of fun reading it, before I knew it the volume was over. Argh, I cannot wait for the next volume. I would recommend this one to all in search for a calm, peaceful, magical read featuring a very chill protagonist.

arc provided by the publisher via netgalley in exchange for an honest review

I really liked this one! I had zero idea what it was about beyond the title and the cover and I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed the story.

We follow Lizel after he’s been magically transported to another world, one that is similar to his but not quite the same. We watch as he figures out how to manage and live in this new environment.

I love how clever Lizel is but also how sweet he is too. I loved his interactions with Gil and I’m really looking forward to seeing how their friendship grows in future instalments.

This didn’t have a ton of action but it was still super enjoyable. Definitely more character driven! I really want to see more adventures in future volumes.

4/5 🌟

This was a gently diverting manga with initial hints of yaoi. Was interesting to see this was adapted from a series of novels and to read the novel author's comments about how the main character Lizel is different in the manga, as I found Lizel to be an engaging if maybe too calm and unnecessarily lightly Machiavellian. The friendship/romance aspects were fun and I could see Lizel engaging on a campaign of empire building in the new dimension? time? place? he finds himself in. Fun brain candy.

I got this because I love manga and the art style grabbed immediately. Although, I did not recognize the author for my collection I was excited to read one.
This manga and storyline read like the beginning of a video game to me, similar to Final Fantasy. All the characters seem to fulfill a simple goal and Gil was the only one I actively remembered.
I believe that is the point though. It made the manga simple to follow and it did not have a convoluted storyline.

I think the art at the beginning was my favorite part, this is the first manga I requested on her so I was shocked by how gorgeous the art was,

I love and miss reading TokyoPop! Thanks!

I greatly enjoyed reading this. I'm a fan of light novels turned manga, and this was a refreshing take on the "person finds himself in another world" genre.

Volume 1 contains Chapters 1-5 and a bonus chapter.

The story follows Lizel, a displaced nobleman, and Gil, an adventure who's been hired by Lizel. Lizel manages to convince Gil to set himself up as an adventure in the local guild and the first few chapters shows their progression in having Lizel perform basic adventuring jobs. Along the way, the reader starts to realize that they know about as much about Gil as they know about Lizel, which is barely anything.

The concept is fresh and the first volume was interesting and definitely sets up for the reader wanting more. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys fantasy. I can see this being a long series I can get behind.

A slow but quick read, building up to a fun journey.

Lizel arrives in a new city not knowing where he is, but he quickly adapts to the way of life. It quickly becomes apparent to him that he is considered a noble in this society, but his aspirations lie elsewhere. He enlists the help of a B ranked adventure Gil to help him learn the ropes. It is quickly apparent that Lizel will quickly rise in the ranks of adventures with his wits and kindness.

The story was interesting but down-played the adventures. Albeit, this genre is saturated with other mangas, so that is fine. But the dynamic between Gil and other characters was not captivating enough to keep readers attention. The art was well done and captured the moods. The dialogue was not too detailed and easy to follow. I would only recommend this series to manga readers already familiar with the genre and interested in an easy slow read.

This is a cute little romp about alternate universes and dungeoneering. If you want some of that sweet sweet kind character melting the heart of a tsundere action, this is a pretty good manga for it. The stakes are never too high and it's just a nice relaxing read. Definitely recommended as a little candy break in these troubled times.

Manga set in a generic fantasy world of adventurers and nobles , with magic.

The protagonist , Lizel, seems to have been transported from his world into a similar world where his country doesn't exist. There is no information about his original world, nor does Lizel seem in a rush to return or if he plans to return at all. He take everithyng in strait giving an image of a laid-back playful young man who intend to became a adventurer as a game for fun and money. With that idead contracts a B-adventurer named Gil as his bodyguard/guide in this world.

There is no surprises or twists in this volume. Almost nothing of action. I don't know if I will go for the second volume.

Plot - 2 stars
Art - 3 stars

-----------------

I liked the premise, but it was a bit confusing at first. There are a lot of information missing and I felt like it has no plot: the main character is in another world, becomes an adventurer and solves a couple of request, no more; there is no conflict at all.
The manga begins with a character from another world, but you don’t know any information about this character, there is no explanation about where he came from. I understand that this is a short manga, so the character's story cannot be developed in a single volume. Although it is true that during the story you learn some things about this character (no relevant information, but something); but I would like to have more information, so it would be less confusing at the beginning.
Overall, it was a very quick and quite cute read with nice characters. And I really loved the draw style.

This book was definitely more of a set up for the next, which I had already assumed would be the case because it's only volume 1. Despite this, I really enjoyed the dynamic between the characters and I'm interested to see where it progresses.

The art style was beautiful. I definitely prefer manga style books over comic books so I was easily won over.

Ever so often, I’m in need of a story based purely on fun and adventure. This was the perfect manga for just that; I had a great time following this cast of charming characters!

A Gentle Noble’s Vacation Recommendation follows a young traveller named Lizel who finds himself in a town looking strangely like his own. Subtle changes make it obvious that he is far from it. With no memory of how he ended up here, Lizel is certain he’ll need a local to show him around. He hires an adventurer named Gil to help show him around, and together the two embark on a great journey.

The art style was really lovely! I’m definitely a fan of more clean and refined art when it comes to characters, and so the crisp lines in this manga were very eye pleasing. Lizel and Gil both had very distinctive features and expressions, which was great to see from a debut artist/author!

This book was everything that it claimed to be, a simple and fun tale! I couldn’t have asked for much more from this first volume, as I loved the characters and setup for adventurers. There seemed subtle hinting at a possible romance in future volumes, which I know I’ll be fond of. I’m already eager for the next volume! :)
