Thank you to Diamond Book Distributer (Tokyopop) and NetGalley for the e-ARC to read and review!

"A Gentle Noble's Vacation Recommendation" is an unusual but laid back read. I enjoyed this first volume a lot and feel the story thus far shows promise.

Lizel is calm, cool, and collected. He is also intelligent with wicked wits. But all in all he is a good guy with a good heart. People are drawn to his polite manner and nature. He literally behaves like he's on a vacation until he can find a way home. There is more to this character I'm sure of it. We don't know much about him - as he tells Gil, we haven't asked the right questions.

I am in love with Gil. He's stoic, calm but cautious, and sure of himself and his abilities. He is a stark contrast to Lizel, which provides a lot of comedic moments through the story. Gil, I think, is drawn to Lizel because of Lizel's competency and how he keeps surprising him.

The world of "A Gentle Noble's Vacation Recommendation" is easy to immerse yourself in. It's world-building is pretty standard and the idea of adventurers and adventuring is explained well. The fantasy element is very appealing. You meet other interesting characters but I'm hoping that develops a bit more in the next volume.

I would continue reading this series because I am highly invested in the story. The art style is beautiful and I love Lizel and Gil together. Would recommend this series.

I enjoyed Gil and Lizel. Loved the mild action, this was more character driven than plot which I enjoyed. Lizel is a very brilliant character. I can't wait to see how he and Gil continue on in the next volume.

Really enjoyed this fun fantasy adventure story! Not entirely sure where it's going but the characters are all really likeable and enjoyable to read about. Great art inside as well. 🤓 Big thanks to Netgalley for the eARC!

First off, I have to say the art style was nice and easy to get into. It is not as flashy and showy as some manga I have read but it is solid and clear to understand. This makes reading enjoyable and quick.

The world and plot feel very much like you have been dropped into a guild style video game. While not my favorite arc, it has the potential to be interesting.

I struggled a bit with getting a feel for the characters and the timeline. The pacing was a bit slow yet somehow it is supposed to be assumed that Lizel and Gil have been working together for a month. Somehow Lizel seems to pick up on a whole bunch of things in this new world that left me wondering where did he suddenly become an expert. His chill-ness sometimes becomes a bit off-putting.

With this first volume laying the foundation of the world and characters, I'm assuming that the rest of the series may pick up the pace a bit. But for now. This one still felt like there are some pieces missing and the action comes across and predictable and null.

It was fine. It’s definitely an it’s me not you kind of situation. I’m just not a fan of isekai, but this one sounded a bit dofferent so I gave it a shot. But yeah, the story is very slice of life and a bit boring so far and I’m not a fan of the video game type of world with guilds and magic labyrinths and the like.
I also found the main character to be a bit too chill, and OP in a way, for my tastes.

Thank you to NetGalley, Momochi, Misaki, Sando, Tokyopop, and Diamond Book Distributors for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Based on the cover and description, I thought two things might come of this manga: yaoi and internet world adventure. Was I right? Sort of? There seems to be a hint at a possible gay relationship...maybe? And the world has the feel of something like "That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime" or "Sword Art Online" or "Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?". Sort of? While Lizel seems to be from some alternate world or dimension, it doesn't really explain the world. It is definitely a fantasy world that feels like a generic RPG.

Lizel appears like a Noble, but he's in a new place he doesn't know at all, and he wants to be an adventurer. He hires Gil to show him the ropes and to teach him the basics of adventuring.

Despite feeling like this was an overused plot, it was still quirky and fun to read. The art is interesting and the interactions between the characters are interesting to analyze, as not a whole lot is explained in detail. There is a lot of interpretation versus exposition, which is nice. A decent first volume with potential for a more interesting plot and character growth.

I received an e-arc of this manga from the distributor/publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was intrigued by the cover and title of the book prior to deciding to read it. And it is aptly named for the story that has been told so far in this debut manga volume. In the first chapter of the manga, I found myself a little confused as to who the characters were and the magical world that we find ourselves in - but I felt like this was intentional as the protagonist, Lizel, is also confused having stumbled into this new world as he later explains to Gil. The rest of the manga works to establish this world, the role of the adventurers in it, and to also introduce a cast of interesting characters that I find myself wanting to get to know more of. These include the owner at the pawnshop and of course, Lizel, who is definitely still a mystery. This isn’t usually the genre of manga that I enjoy reading but I think that I would be interested in continuing to find out more about Lizel and to see how the dynamic relationship between Lizel and Gil develop, While most of us do not always prefer a cliffhanger at the end, it wouldn’t hurt for the volume to have ended on one to continue to draw readers into continuing the manga.

Well, I didn't know this was based on a light novel. A Gentle Noble's Vacation Recommendation was actually different and not what I expected. This is a very slow and cryptic manga! I love the rhythm and the slow and odd pace of it not to forget that the main characters' relationship is...somewhat weirdly romantic in a sense. Lizel finds himself mysteriously in a totally different time and place. He doesn't panic, but decides to take this as a vacation and learn from the new place only to meet an adventurer, Gil. These two pair up and Lizel wants to become a guild adventurer too and somehow he knows how this world works to some extent. The setting felt cliched at first, but Momochi builds the whole thing in a way that you don't know what is happening and why. That's so refreshing!

The art is OK, nothing spectacular, but quite steady. Perhaps there's too many talking heads when you consider that this is a fantasy story and backgrounds should play a bigger part. Otherwise this is quite fine and interesting and I do hope Momochi can pull this off. The cover is great surely!

Definitely enjoyed this. I read a lot of manga and graphic novels and this immediately went to the top tier of my reads. Will definitely recommend this for purchase in my library.

*Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.'

First and foremost, I have to say that the artwork is absolutely stunning. Incredibly detailed and expressive, it really brought the characters and world to life, and made this manga a delight to read for that alone. I also really enjoyed the dynamics between the two main characters, and this first volume has left me wanting to get to know more about Gil and Lizel and to see where their relationship goes from here. I also enjoyed the twist on the Isekai genre, and how Lizel took the situation in his stride (and it makes me curious to know what his other life/world is like to make him react like this).

Where I felt that it slipped a little was in terms of plot, as there wasn't too much in this volume and more questions than answers, although I believe that this will be remedied in future volumes from how it progressed. This volume felt very much like the tutorial level in a MMORPG, so it stands to reason that it was slower paced and would not have as much 'plot' as it will in the future. My only other criticism, is that it would have helped the flow of the story to have the time marked more clearly, as I was unsure of how much time had passed since Lizel had arrived and the rest of the events.

That said, I really enjoyed dipping my toes in this new adventure/world and I look forward to seeing where it goes from here.

The book opens with Lizel in an alternate world. He recognizes it very quickly and assumes that his king has sent him there for a reason. He is not naive but appears so to the people around him. So he hires a B-level adventurer, Gil. Hanging out with Gill will help Lizel figure out the world more quickly as well as keeping him safe.
The story was absolutely adorable and I loved the idea of it. Lizel is so unfailingly optimistic and blithe but, when we see his skills, we realize that he has reason to be. Loved the references to MMORPGs. Not a ton of action but made me happy to read.

I found this manga very interesting with an original world building with quests and adventurers (remind me a little of Sword Art Online). There's not a lot of characters but they look all great and I can't wait to see more of those mysterious secrets and "vacation" !

I loved the fantasy elements of this graphic novel — not to mention the beautiful artwork. A wonderful reading experience.

This is the start of a manga series that very much feels like a video game from the start . You're with Lizel as he has begun to explore the new world he has wound up in and meets some very interesting guys.

However, when I say it reads like a video game I mean the tutorials. Even when he's registering with the guild it reads like you're going to be told where to find tutorials again if you get stuck. And that was kind of dull.

But the art is pretty and the characters were fun. I enjoyed getting to know them and getting the chance to preview this series.

This manga was super cute. It reminded me a little bit of Magi and Fairy Tail. It took me a little while to understand the guild system and to get invested in the story, but once I got into it, it was amazing.

The artwork in this manga is incredible and I loved the two main characters. They both have such opposite personalities, but together they make a really interesting and fun team. I ship them together and every one of their interactions made me so happy.

I was approved to review a digital review copy of this book on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This review will be cross-posted on my book blog, Bookmarked, and Goodreads.

Thank you Diamond Book and NetGalley for sending me an eARC of this new manga! I was attracted by the premise and the art style, as I thought it a fresh slice-of-life spin on the Isekai genre featuring a vacation rather than panic, distress and life-or-death quests. While overall enjoyable, the first volume in the series presented some issues that prevented me from fully appreciating the story.

WHAT I LIKED

The art style is gorgeous. Detailed, expressive - a pleasure to look at. There is a lot of detail, dynamism and personality coming through in the drawing style, which made the manga particularly enjoyable to read!

Like I said, I was really excited about the fresh spin on the Isekai genre. It was refreshing to see a protagonist who, instead of panicking or getting into trouble immediately is level-headed and carefree enough to think about enjoying his break from the ordinary!

I'm intrigued by Lizel. He's definitely hiding something - some secret or some skill - that will hopefully propel the narrative forward in the next volumes.

WHAT I LIKED A LITTLE LESS

I had two main issues and one minor issue with this volume: plot, character and time.

Plot-wise... there isn't much? Plot, I mean. There isn't a clear sense of tension or progression towards a goal; just events happening one after the other. It really felt like the story lacked direction or purpose. The city and the two worlds, too, feel anonymous.

Similarly, characters are disorienting in that the readers don't get any insight into their motivations or their lives. They just sort of meet and move on. For instance, towards the end, Lizel compares his companion to his king, but that comparison holds no weight since we know nothing about the king to make any sense out of it. The lack of drive on the characters' part negatively impacts the plot as a whole as a consequence.

Time progression is not clear. It always looks like it's either midday or morning: how much time has passed in the first volume, a day? A week? The manga would be easier to navigate with more time variety in scenes and temporal markers indicating the passage of time (e.g. "later", "the next week" etc).

Thank you to the publisher for giving me this copy in exchange for an honest review!

I thought this was ok. It started off with the coloured pages and I was shook and wanted to read everything. But the story kind of dulled down throughout the manga. I had little interest in finishing it but I'm glad I did because the ending was quite good again. The middle part felt quite like a "I don't know what to do now so we got to fill some pages." type of thing.

I really liked the characters and I thought they were very fun to read with and about however eventually they got quite dull as well and one of them very annoying in my opinion.

This manga wasn't at all bad I just didn't really enjoy it as much as I should have probably.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed reading this manga and story... at least Volume 1 of the story. The story follows Lizel who is transported to a world that’s not his. However, he is able to speak the language and apparently still has a ton of money in which is can buy an entire bookstore... The world is very similar to his own enough that he understands the customs and what is going on around him. He quickly partners up with Gil, a moody adventurer, and they take on requests around the town to try to move up through the ranks.

Lizel is presented as a happy, calm, mysterious nobleman but you can obviously see that he is hiding something. Gil is grumpy but I liked it. He was a good balance to Lizel's character. The story has not-so-subtle hints that a relationship between these characters is in the cards for the future but was not explored yet in Volume 1.

The artwork is beautiful and the story and narration is easy to understand. I look forward to Volume 2.

My thoughts on A Gentle Noble's Vacation Recommendation, Vol. 1

I love the illustrations presented in the manga and the world-building was quite simple and straightforward which revolves around the genre of Fantasy and Magical objects. This manga really gives of the vibe of a video game and the character outfits really gives of Legend of Zelda vibes. I can't wait for the next installment from this series to see where does the story leads us. Also I really want to know more about Gil and Lizel's adventures and their personal stories.

Rating: 3.5/ 5 🌟
