I loved Reading this book. The emotion of the situation was well written, and also the need for support from people involved in the situation was well thought out. A great, new story with lots of thought.

This is a well-written book with interesting prose that keeps you turning the pages. It starts out well, with an interesting (though typical) domestic thriller premise: what is Jenny’s husband hiding from her?

Unfortunately despite the good writing, the execution of the plot did not work for me. A big shocking event happened in the beginning of the book, and then not enough happened for awhile after that. When the plot began to unwind the reveals, they were all pretty typical and not very shocking. The idea of this book is good, and the writing is good, but the way the twists and the “Bombs” drop is somewhat anticlimactic and the reader will likely have everything all figured out halfway through. Also not a whole lot of action in the book except the beginning and the end. And requires some definite suspension of disbelief on how the police might have handled this situation.

Though I didn’t love the book, I did really like the way the author writes and would be interested to give another JA Andrews book a shot. Hopefully some of the plotting issues were unique to this book. I’d give it 3.5 for writing, but 3 for plot.

Wonderfully written and suspenseful, I couldn't believe my eyes when I read the ending! Perfectly fast-faced page turner!

If you are a fan of Gone Girl, you will love this book!

Michael is killed in a hit and run on his way to a meeting, leaving behind his wife Jenny and their 3 year old son.

You follow Jenny and her moves after her husbands death and you will not believe where this takes you. This thriller is full of suspense and had me hanging on the edge for most of the book. It lost a bit of steam for me in the middle. I felt like there was something missing that could have been added to keep the momentum up.
I love when a book has different view points, and this flowed easily between chapters.

P.S. When a book has an epilogue but the dead guy, you know it's gonna be good! :)

Secrets, secrets and more secrets.

Jenny’s life seems perfect, her husband looks after her and her son and she doesn’t have to worry about a thing. Her mother in law is always there when she needs her.

Until the day her husband dies, Michael has to go to a late meeting and was hit by a car. Gray the kids witness was with Michael when e passed. The driver fled and left Michael there to die. When the police arrive at Jenny’s door she knows somethings wrong, she seen too many movies how this plays out.

After identifying his body Jenny and her mother in law Donna are distraught. Jenny’s world falls apart and her in laws sat to question whether she a first parent. Jenny beings to unravel her husbands secrets and questions wether she ever knew him at all.

Secret after secret they all fall down, you never see it coming until it’s too late. Well played JA Andrews!

You Let Him In by JA Adnrews was just an okay book. I found the dialogue to be very contrived, almost felt like there were children speaking rather than adults. Hard to get past that aspect. The familiar trope of a wife with a great husband with a secret is getting kind of old however and therefore, I couldn't really get into this book.

Unfortunately I did not care for this book, I felt myself getting annoyed at the majority of the characters and also felt the story dragged on and on. This is my own personal opinion and am sure many others will love it. I recommend giving it a try it just maybe wasn't for me.

I felt bad for one person, mad at another, and creeped out by another. I think this would have a higher star rating for me had it not been for them continually repeat themselves in the book. It was a good idea for a book, but that ruined it for me. That's just me though and I'm here tons of people will enjoy this. There is no such thing as a bad book, just not the right fit for me.

I always feel so harsh giving a book 1 star but this was just not for me at all. I actually quite liked the different perspectives throughout which can sometimes be a bit confusing if not done well but apart from that I just didn't enjoy it. I found the dialogue between characters so wooden and just not believable and generally there was no excitement, nothing that made me feel as though I was reading a thriller.

Michael, an accountant, is struggling to meet the mortgage and other needs for his family. He has a "brilliant" wide-range plan that no one (not even the reader) .knows about. His wife, Jenny, is unhappy with Michael's late nights at work and being alone all day with their son - 3 year-old Daniel. Jenny and Michael do argue a lot. Also, .Jenny's mother-in-law's frequent presence is irritating.

The "plan" of Michael's, he knows, will solve all of their problems. But Jenny doesn't think "soon" is enough and threatens to go to Leeds with Daniel for at least a month. (Leeds is where Jenny's parents live.)

And then, a hitch in Michael's plans.....

An excellent suspense thriller I could not put it down!

I’ve read books by this author before and loved them. This was a greatly written suspense. It had me eagerly awaiting each page. A lot of thriller books are easy to crack, but this one has me guessing all the way until the end. Great read! Make sure you have enough time though because you won’t want to stop until the end

Suspense? Is there suspense in this story? Nice joke. Characters were so dumb. There was no story, no characters arc, no suspense. This is not a thriller and its genre is written as a psychological thriller.

Dear JA Andrews,
Please keep writing. This is only your second novel, and the first I’ve read. I don’t want to knock your dreams down, but I also want to give an honest review. I think you have the chops and the ideas to be a great writer, so keep on trying. Now, stop reading here until you’re ready, because this will be a bit brutal.

The Pros- I loved the idea of the story. JA Andrews has come up with something kind of unique here. The plot is good- there are no holes of any sort. The characters have distinct voices. The ending is good.

The cons- I just couldn’t get into it. I hated every single character in the book. Jenny is weak, stupid, and materialistic. Michael is a lying liar who lies. Everyone is deeply flawed, but nobody has a single redeeming quality and I had to grit my teeth to get through it because I disliked everyone that much. Almost every other chapter I would scream, “Damn it, Jenny!!!” out of frustration with her character in particular.

However, I really want to give another JA Andrews book a try. If the characters were likable, I think I would really enjoy his writing.

This is a book filled with thrill, secrets, deception and lies.
The only thing she was guilty of was trusting him.
In the story, we are taken into the lives of Jenny and Micheal Clifton. They are a happy couple with a 3 year old toddler, Daniel.. Soon, there is trouble in paradise. Micheal starts being elusive about his whereabouts, working odd late hours and being secretive about everything. Jenny being the ever too trusting wife doesn't doubt him but it starts creating altercations and causes some negativity between them. In the midst of this discomfiture between them, Micheal dies tragically in an accident. Jenny goes through a devastating time while grieving his death and having to discover secrets about her husband, the love of her life.

The initial chapters and character building was good but in the middle of the book it became predictable as to what was happening. Nonetheless, I would love to read more from the author. 3/5

If you are looking for a fast paced thriller pick this book as your next read.

very enjoyable read full of tense content between a wife and her husband who is a bit of a jekyll and hyde man .will keep you gripped right to the end .

You Let Him In was a decent book. It was psychological, but not really a thriller. Jenny’s husband dies in a freak accident and once she starts discovering that he had lied to her, she vents to the sole witness to the crime.
I liked the novel ok. I didn’t care for any of the characters, but I felt awful for Jenny, Donna, and Peter for losing Michael in such a sudden death. There were several plot holes that I noticed that bugged me the rest of the time that I read this book.

Suspenseful .. Keeps you on the edge of your seat. I did figure out what was going on but was still a great read.

The premise of this book really intrigued me, but then I started reading and I have to say, I didn't enjoy this book veery much. It was predictable and it dragged on way too long.

This was my first book by this author. I did think the book was a quick read, enjoyable, and a page turner. However, I felt that the look was "choppy" in the beginning. I found a few spelling errors around the 37% mark (words that needed to be separated but were jumbled together).

Overall, this book is about a woman who has lost her husband in a tragic way and follows the story of her grieving this loss while some secrets being exposed.

I found the book to be a little bit cliche. I wanted more of a "wow" factor but a pleasant, good 2nd thrilling novel from the author.

You Let Him In by J.A. Andrews is the first I've read from this author, and it will certainly not be the last. If you are looking for a twisty, fast-paced, character- driven mystery, your search is over.

Jenny Clifton is shattered when she learns that an accident has claimed the life of her husband, Michael. Left with a three year old son, Jenny finds comfort in the company of the stranger who was the sole witness to the horrific hit and run crash, and held Michael's hand as he took his final breath. But as notices from creditors begin to mount, Jenny wonders just how much of her husband's life she knew nothing about. With pressure mounting from Michael's parents to act in the best interest of her son, and a new friend who may not be all that he seems, Jenny realizes that her seemingly perfect life with Michael and their child may have been a sham all along.

This is a quick, sharp read that will engage you from the word go. I appreciated the lack of superfluous and descriptive details, as this allowed me to fully immerse myself in the action in what feels, almost, like real time. Recommended.
