This was ok. It really didn’t seem it had a plot. Maybe if there was more plot and less intimate details. I’m no prude, but it was a lot. Just didn’t seem to have a balance, in my opinion.

Didn't expect this book to be this short and this sexy (which, frankly, is not my cup of tea lately) and kept wondering when it would pick up - they were still at that very detailed erotic retelling of that first one-night stand at 20% into the book. I had been expecting the plot to pick up afterwards, which it somewhat did, and then the sex would waltz in again... Even the resolution of the (weak because it was so 'not' there) plot seemed rushed and even unfinished to me...just so the narrative could turn sexy again.
Also cringed a little at the French. While the grammar and spelling were thank goodness okay, terms of endearment felt a bit off and awkward in their use and frequency.
If sexy with barely a plot to tie it all together is your thing, then this will be an awesome read for you.

I quite enjoyed the book until around half way, then it became a slog ,
I did finish, but found it hard.
It just lacked energy and the flow felt wrong .
This saddens me because really the story is good and most of the characters too.

I hope that at some point I can read more from the author. Maybe in the future.

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

3.5 Stars!

Falling for the Tycoon is the first book from Aurora Russell's Anywhere and Always series. This standalone romance is about Annelise and Remy. They meet on a Caribbean island where Remy is vacationing and Annelise is honeymooning without a husband. Remy's family owns the exclusive resort they are both staying in. Annelise is alone because her fiance broke up with her a few months before the wedding, and the honeymoon was already paid for. After an amazing time together, they go their separate ways. Due to a business relationship six months later, Remy and Annelise come together again, which results in a future filled with happiness.

I liked this book, however, the plot fell a bit flat. The sexy times between Annelise and Remy were hot.

Thank you NetGalley, Totally Bound Publishing and Aurora Russell for gifting me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!

Steamy and suspenseful this romance takes readers on a roller coaster of emotions, as Annelise and Remy wade through their pasts and presents to see if they have a future.
I didn’t love the way this one was written and the sex scenes were more than plenty, but I did enjoy their story and I would read another book by this author!

A holiday hook up that you can't forget, that is Remy!

This is a sizzling romance that has lots of heat, they could honestly do with a few more proper dates before declaring all to one another though!

Enjoyable read.

A variation on the Cinderella theme that all girls dream of, this romance book is an adult and edgier version of the storyline. She's recovering from a broken heart and is brought back to life by a handsome stranger in a "throw caution to the wind" type of night. However, when they come face to face again months later, he can't help but wonder if it was all a set up to put him in the right place at the wrong time since someone is trying to kill him and his siblings off. What ensues is mistaken ideas, passion, mental anguish and attempted murder. The question is can they overcome all of that so that this Cinderella gets a happy ending or will it all blow apart. The way the story is written, you definitely get the impression that this is the first of a series as the story has several loose threads that still need tied up at the end so I am looking forward to seeing future books with these characters in them. The characters' are interesting, intelligent and intriguing in a manner that draws you and wants you to know more. The author is a bit fixated on him filling her with his seed as that is redundantly pounded home with each sexual experience the characters have, otherwise it's a very entertaining romance with a nice mystery laced within it. I look forward to more from this author!

It started off interesting, but as soon as the 2 main characters meet it went sideways for me....I lost interest.

Before I started this review, I went over the book again: Hot guy (yup, even with a French accent). Romance (yup, with a background of a romantic beach in Mexico). Sparks flying (yup, and with a lot of steamy sexy scenes). Mysterie in story (yup, with danger, near death and suspense).
So, in all great potential. But why didn't it add up? I still can't put my finger on it, but although I enjoyed the story, it just didn't knock me off my socks. The insta-attraction between Annelise and Remy was maybe the first indication where it went wrong: in the middle of an empty beach Annelise accidentally trips over a sleeping Remy and they instantaneously fall in love. Mweh... not totally believable.
And so the story continues, with unlikely event after another. So, although the sexy scenes keep you amused, the story isn't very convincing. But for a holiday read, it is perfect. Three out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

This is a new to me author and based on some of the other reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm glad I gave it a chance, because I really enjoyed it. Remy and Annelise had instant chemistry. Remy is a smooth talker and if I hadn't heard his thoughts I'd almost think he was full of it. The dual points of view made it perfect to know his sincerity, playfulness, vulnerability and feelings for Annelise. Given their chemistry there is a lot of sex. A sex scene and then another sex scene right after they recharge. I found myself skimming the scenes by the end because I wanted to get back to the suspense/mystery part of the book. I enjoyed the build up of the mystery, but the who-done-it left me confused. I truly don't understand the who/why of what was going on after a big scene at the end. It's obvious with Remy having 2 brothers and a sister there is more to come, but I hope the part connected to Annelise is explained (trying not to give spoilers).

This was a quick and light read. I'm looking forward to reading more.

This one was just ok for me. It was a little too insta everything for me and not much action or suspense, just a feel good sweet sexy read! So if your in the mood for that this one is for you! Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

I was given an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest and independent review.
An easy to read romance. I really liked the hero Remy, who had for me all the qualities expected in a leading man.
Will this book be memorable? No. But taking it for what it was - a steamy but sweet romantic novel, it was quite enjoyable. Some might say too much sex in it (which didn’t add anything to the story) and not enough depth and I would have to agree.
3 stars from me

Three and a half stars rounded up to four. I enjoyed this love story and the connection between Remy and Annalise. After initially meeting at an exclusive resort in Mexico, where they are the only guests, the chemistry between them is off the charts and they can't keep their hands off one another. Six months later, their paths cross again and it's clear that there is unfinished business between the two.
When Annalise and Remy are together, it's clear that they can't resist one another. There is certainly plenty of heat here. What stopped me from giving a higher review was that there was just something a little lacking overall. Alongside the romance aspect of the story, we have a suspense element. Someone is targeting Remy's family and he has become convinced that it is someone connected to Annalise's company. It's never really explained why and how he has come to this conclusion and I think that it is connected with this that just stops the story from reaching the excellent level. With this aspect of the storyline, there are a number of things that we are told, but that are never explained. I understand that this is the start of a series and the author may well not want to give too much away yet, but I think a little more really wouldn't hurt and would just help with this story overall.
I did enjoy the romance and would still recommend this book. I would be keen to read the rest of the series as I feel that this might be one that gets better as things unfold.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Falling for the Tycoon was an unexpected surprise. I didn't quite know what to expect but I was looking for a beachy summer read and the blurb got me at island getaway romance.

After her fiance suddenly breaks everything off just months from their wedding, Annelise decides to not let her Caribbean honeymoon go to waste. When a gorgeous French-Canadian stranger literally falls into your lap, or vise versa, on a romantic tropical night, sometimes you just have to thank the heavens for their bounty and go with the flow.

Aurora Russell is a new-to-me author and I wasn't quite sure what to expect. While we do get some pretty intsa-lusty-type action, that is pretty typical for tropical romances (on and off the pages). I was not expecting the mystery portion to the book but I was pleasantly surprised by it. I was totally enthralled by the Gaspard family happenings and am so hooked for more.

I look forward to more by the author!

I found this book to be a very enjoyable read with the good character and storyline development that kept me turning the pages until the very end!

Thank you NetGalley and Totally Bound Publishing for the free copy. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I have to admit that I haven't read contemporary romance in awhile since I have 'ventured' into angst and dark romance. I thought this would be a nice change, a once-in-awhile treat for me after all the roller coaster of emotion.

But I don't get that in this one. I find the story somewhat draggy and reading into the mind of the lead characters almost put me to sleep. I will honestly say that I skipped a lot of pages reading this so that I can be done with it. For a modern contemporary romance, this feels outdated. I find the author's style of writing a reminiscent of romance writers I used to read back in the 90s.

To be fair, I think a lot of people will like this. If I had read this, say, 15 years ago, I would probably in love with this because my gawd, Annelise and Remy are like rabbits on battery.
