As a rule, I'm not a huge fan of sweet romances, I like something with a little bit more spice. The premise of this one appealed to me, even if it's not Christmas right now, the idea of a kitten trying to sort everyone out and get the couple together appealed to me.
Lukas has returned to his Aunt's bed and breakfast for the first time in years. While he's been gone, things have become quite run down and it's clear that she has been struggling. Amazing baker and cook Emily has been helping her out, but it's obvious to Lukas that it's about time that his Aunt retired. What he doesn't count on is the attraction he feels for Emily and with a little help from Snowball the kitten, he soon begins to wonder if selling up is really the best option.
This was quite a sweet romance. I enjoyed the growing romance between Emily and Lukas. She distrusts him from the beginning and although she does her best to keep him at arm's length, it's clear that she can't resist him, any more than he can resist her.
Snowball does try to get things moving along, but the meddling from the kitten is quite funny and almost has the opposite effect from time to time.
I enjoyed this dip into a different kind of read for me and I'd be happy to read more from Kristen McKanagh.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

My first book by this author and once I had got into the style of writing I really enjoyed it. Snowball was absolutely adorable and the bits of the story that were written from the kittens point of view had me in stitches! Such a heart warming story and left me definitely feeling warm and Christmassy. Lightheaded escapism at its best.

Snowball’s Christmas

What a feel good book that just makes you take a few minutes to relax and think about life & breathe! I have three dogs which help me renew my spirit like Snowball tries to pull Emily & Lukas closer together as a family unit. She wants Tilly and them to recapture and renew that family is the heart ❤️ of the home.
The author is directing this small ball of fur to remind us all what life is about and she has truly done an amazing job in keeping the flow of the book going towards the ending result!
This is the kind of book we all need to take the time to read us back to our roots to slow our lives down and turn off our social media and communications and see each other directly.
What a great message of value to read at Christmas this is a great read for young adults and the mature!

I enjoyed this cute story about Tillys' Inn. Emily lives there and helps run . Sh the inn. Emily's dream is to open bakery. She bakes at the inn and delivers to stores to sell. They find a kitten and call him Snowball. Lukcas, Tilly's nephew comes to visit and has plans to sell the inn. In the meantime, the kitten is trying to be a matchmaker. You have got to read this to see what happens. This is a light, enjoyable read.

Cat Matchmaker

I loved this light easy reading story about a matchmaking cat named Snowball. Emily helps Tilly at Weber Haus as she saves to start her own bakery. She has a white cat named Snowball who is a bit of a rascal.

Lukas is Tilly’s nephew that she raised. He is a famous photographer and has come home to spend Christmas with his aunt.

Snowball decides that Lukas and Emily should fall in love and get married. This matchmaker cat keeps causing situations to get the two together. The cat made me laugh so hard.

The story has humor, romance and keeps you reading to find out what will happen next. I love the ending and the part Snowball plays in it.

If you need some humor in your life, or just a nice leisurely read you will love this book, especially when you read the cat’s thoughts. I do recommend this book.

Thanks to Kristen McKanagh, Kensington Books and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

A fun and adorable kitten, Snowball has decided it is her mission to get Emily and Lucas together. When Lucas comes to visit his Aunt Tilly over Christmas, he meets Emily, the cook, and sparks fly. Emily finds him attractive until she learns who he is. She holds a grudge against him for seemingly neglecting his aunt. Enjoyed this one, and had a hard time putting it down. Would highly recommend this book. Good clean and feel good story for Christmas.

Entertaining from the very get-go. I admit I was taken in by the cover -, hoping against hope that the cat wasn't going to talk, or solve crimes.. Instead the author just threw in some of the cat's thoughts which was fun. The description of the kitten's antics were obviously written by someone with a cat and the scene where Snowball jumps onto someone's head was priceless. A guest arrives at the B and B where Emily cooks and helps Miss Tilly turns out not only to be Tilly's nephew, but a godsend for the inn and someone very special for Emily. Loved the cat , loved the story too, but the depiction of the kitten were spot on - not that I am a cat person.or anything.

First book by this author! Was a fun read. A love story with a matchmaker cat named Snowball told at times by himself and his schemes to bring together Emily and Lukas. Easy read and I enjoyed it and think animals lovers will also! A love story and a story about families!

Thanks Kristen McKanagh and Kensington Publishers!

This book was received as an ARC from Kensington Books in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

This was a heartwarming story that was well needed during this pandemic. Every page I read my heart got warmer and warmer. The behavior and personification of the cat and how she manipulated Emily and Lukas to be together to stop Lukas from selling their beloved B&B. I know that one day Hallmark and/or Lifetime will turn this into one of their made for TV movies and everyone will crave it each day.

We will consider adding this title to our Fiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

That cover!

The setting: a Victorian B & B at Christmas!

The drama, when Emily, inn cook, learns the REAL reason why Lukas, nephew of owner Miss Tilly, has returned.

That darling inn kitty Snowball, whose presence adds warmth and hope.

Will the inn be sold? Will Snowball lose her home? Will there be love? A happy ending?

I won’t tell. May you escape into this charming tale, as I did, and find comfort amidst our crazy world.
