Cold cases can come back to kill and Hope is about to find that out up close and personally! The plot of this book is simply outstanding! It is complicated with a few twists and turns to delight and entertain for hours on end. I found myself simply turning page after page as I could no more put the book down than the main character could stop asking questions. I love that the main character is an intelligent, independent woman who asks the right questions albeit often leading her into uncomfortable encounters with others. The realistic reactions of the characters around her make this book all that more compelling. I absolutely have fallen in love with this series!

The Corpse Who Knew Too Much earns 5/5 Cold Cases...Entertaining!

Debra Sennefelder has penned a delightful page turner with a food blogger perfecting her amateur detecting skills on a few murders plaguing Jefferson, Connecticut. Sennefelder’s well-written drama centers around Hope Early who seems to manage well her busy schedule running a successful blog, Hope at Home, and expanding to teaching blogging at the local library. She’s also remodeling her old farmhouse, navigating a romantic relationship with the local detective, and as circumstances have it she’s become interested in podcasting. She sure could use a few extra hours in the day or maybe an assistant. Devon Markham is a new resident in town with a popular podcast, Search for the Missing. Her main topic has been the twenty-year-old cold case of her own mother’s disappearance. Hope’s fascination turns serious when Devon is found murdered. Engaging! The drama is compelling, slowly revealing details of the cold case and connections to the recent murder. Using a third-person narrative, readers are kept engaged with a writing style filled with descriptive language and entertaining dialogue. Don’t think you’ll be able to figure out this one before the surprise conclusion...fun to try! Join right in with this fourth book’s drama since revisiting background and character connections from the three previous stories make it easy for newbies. Food Blog Treats! Hope Early shares her thoughts (a delightful addition) and easy-to-follow and varied recipes perfect for any stay-at-home meal: Three-Cheese Lasagna, Rustic Apple Pie, One-Bowl Brownies, Sunshine Corn Muffins, Sugar Cookies, and Double-Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies!

I love this series. I really like the main character, Hope, and her friends. They are so down to earth and very likeable. This was a well written mystery that had me guessing right to the end. This book is my favorite of the series, so far.

Thank you to Netgalley and Kensington books for the digital arc in exchange for an honest review.

This is the fourth book in the series and it was my favourite!
The characters are written vividly and full of personality.
The storyline was very contemporary in terms of a true crime podcast and the whodunit which also included a cold case was top notch.
I look forward to reading the next in the series!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

'The Corpse Who Knew Too Much' is a fascinating story that launched me into the world of true crime podcasts. In this instance Hope's high school friend Devon who as a successful podcast on Missing Women returns to Jefferson, CT to finally resolve the case of of her mother on the 20th anniversary of her disappearance. This series is a little more intense than normal cozies, and two more deaths are added to the count. There is great suspense as the story rolls to its conclusion, plus because Hope is a food blogger there are wonderful recipes. I enjoy this entire series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

I love a good cozy mystery. This one had plenty of the tropes but still managed to keep me guessing, which I enjoyed quite a bit.

The Corpse Who Knew Too Much by Debra Sennefelder is the second book that I’ve read in the Food Blogger Mysteries and it was wonderful catching up with Hope, Jane, Drew, Claire, and the rest of the gang. This is book number four in the series and if you haven’t read any of the other books, Sennefelder gives you enough background and references to previous cases that you won’t be lost. Although with any series, starting from the first book is always a great idea so you can watch the characters grow and be privy to insider information. The Uninvited Corpse is book one in the series in case this is a new series to you.

Hope is going non-stop all of the time and is dealing with a lot; creating new recipes for her blog and all the things that come along with maintaining a blog, running a class at the local library, learning to do podcasts, remodeling/decorating her older farmhouse, working on her relationship with the town sheriff and his daughters, and solving not one, but three murders! It’s no wonder she’s finally hired an assistant to help with the administrative parts of her blogging business and someone to help around the house and with her chickens. And besides solving three murders she also figures out who’s been stealing small objects around her house. I’m tired just thinking of having to handle all of that.

But with giving Hope so many responsibilities, Sennefelder uses it to write a great cozy since there is always something happening. And while everything is going on, Sennefelder is continuing to have her main characters grow and make sure the new ones are well developed. And I feel like Sennefelder has really stepped up her game when it comes to including Hope making new recipes fitting seamlessly into the story, as well as all the yummy recipes at the end of the book. There’s a couple of cookie recipes that I know I will be trying out soon.

As far as the mystery went I was guessing for quite a bit of the book. Towards the end, one of the characters makes a comment that stuck out so I knew they were involved, but I wasn’t exactly sure as to the why. And I really enjoyed how Sennefelder incorporated a true crime podcast into the book since they are so popular and it seemed to give the cozy a bit of a darker feel. Not that it isn’t a true cozy, it just has a bit more menacing creepiness behind it.

Another excellent addition to the Food Blogger Mysteries and the cozy genre!

This is the 4th in the Food Blogger Mystery series. It is Winter and Hope Early is planning on doing a library class on blogging. The Hope at Home blogger is getting prepared and is shocked when a high school friend Devon Markham arrives in town and is hosting a podcast on missing women and is tackling the own disappearance of her Mother who disappeared 20 years ago. Devon asks for Hope’s help but she is concerned and says she will get back to her. Devon disappears and is later found dead. Hope is warned against helping and has received threatening texts and messages. Hope is a great character and she puts so much love and energy into everything she does. The story flows at a great pace and Hope ultimately finds the killer and it is unexpected who the culprit is. This series keeps getting better and I can’t wait for the next installment.

Hope left NYC and is renovating her farmhouse in a small town in Connecticut. She is a food blogger, teaching a class on blogging, and an amateur sleuth (despite the protests of her boyfriend, the local police chief). Twenty years ago the mother of two of Hope's friends disappeared and now one of those girls has returned and is determined to find out what happened to her mom. What she finds out gets her killed and Hope takes up the cause while snow storms keep causing havoc in the area. Great characters and lots of twists and red herrings as well as plenty of family and friendship. An excellent cozy!

Building on her recipe for success with her food blog, Hope at Home, Hope is teaching her first blogging class at the local library in Jefferson, Connecticut. She’s also learning about podcasts, including a true-crime one called Search for the Missing, hosted by Hope's childhood friend, Devon Markham. Twenty years ago on Valentine's Day, right here in Jefferson, Devon's mom disappeared and was never found. Finally Devon has returned to solve the mystery of what happened to her mother—and she asks Hope to help. This addition to the series is very entertaining. It's a quick read with a not overly complicated plot but full of interesting characters and great dialogue. This is a fun series and includes recipes as a bonus so what's not to like? Thank you NetGalley for the advanced readers copy for review.

The Corpse Who Knew Too Much is the fourth installment in the A Food blogger Mysteries series featuring blogger, Hope Early and set in the small town of Jefferson, Connecticut. Hope is basking in the success of her food blog, Hope at Home and is looking forward to teaching a class on blogging at the local library.

Hope's sister Claire has a new tenant moving into the apartment above her shop, Staged with Style and it turns out to be none other than an old classmate, Devon Markham. Devon is a popular podcaster and her true crime series, Search for the Missing has a strong following. Devon's latest project is to find out what happened to her mother, Joyce who disappeared without a trace one day while Devon and her sister, Felice were at school.

Devon sits down to discuss what she knows about her mother's disappearance with Hope and says that because Hope has experience solving mysteries she wants her to help close the cold case. When Devon suddenly disappears and is found murdered, Hope knows that she not only has to track down Devon's killer but also find out what happened twenty years ago to Joyce.

Teaming up with her boyfriend, Ethan and best friend and reporter, Drew - Hope must act quickly before she becomes the killer's next target. A fast paced plot with plenty of suspects, the right touch of romance, a delightful dog and a shocking reveal, this is a wonderful addition to the series.

I received an advanced copy of The Corpse Who Knew Too Much from NetGalley via Kensington Publishing. While not required to write a review I am happy to offer my honest opinion.

I received this ARC via Netgalley and Kensington Books, in return for an honest review. While the fourth book in this series, it is easily read as a standalone. Hope Early has a successful blog, ‘Hope at Home, which includes recipes, home tips and other related topics. She’s teaching her first blogging class at the local library, sharing all her hard-earned knowledge. She’s surprised to overhear a true-crime podcast that is narrated by an old high school friend, Devon Markham. Devon’s mother disappeared 20 years earlier on Valentine’s Day and her disappearance was never solved. Devon returns to their hometown, determined to research and solve her mother’s disappearance. Renting an apartment above Hope’s sister’s store, Devon invites Hope over and asks her to help research and solve the mystery. When Devon’s apartment is later ransacked and Devon is found dead in a car that went off a snowy road, Hope questions whether Devon’s death was an accident or was related to Mrs. Markham’s disappearance. Hope believes she should figure out what happened to both Markham women, since Devon asked for her help. With a blizzard hitting every couple of days and the snow piling up, Hope navigates the treacherous roads and relationships from 20 years ago that are now impacting the present in her beloved hometown of Jefferson.
This is the second Hope Early book I’ve read, and I enjoyed both of them. Hope is an engaging character. She’s trying to do lots of things, including have a relationship with the town’s sheriff and his two young daughters, maintain her blog, learn to podcast, create her delicious recipes, sustain her historic farmhouse, and add the solving of two mysteries. It’s a solid addition to the cozy genre. The book has several delicious sounding recipes at the end which complement the ones discussed in the story. I can’t wait to make the Double Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies!!!

Hope Early is teaching a class on blogging at the local library. While one old high school friend has signed up for her class, mother has returned to town to find out what happened to her mother who disappeared 20 years ago.

When Devon returns home to investigate Hope learns the woman has a podcast that covers cold cases of women who have disappeared. Devon asks Hope for her help in solving the mystery, given Hope’s previous success in solving other cases. Hope doesn’t commit and when Devon dies in an accident, she vows to find the answers Devon was searching for. Now Hope has to focus on finishing her class, finding a killer and not becoming the next subject of a killer podcast.

The fourth entry in this series and I haven’t missed one yet…and don’t plan to miss any future entries either. Recipes are included, so as you work your way through figuring out whodunit and revel in the final reveal, you can follow up with some deliciousness to celebrate.

The corpse Who Knew Too Much will keep you guessing as you follow the clues with Hope. She has her hands full with her blog and her boyfriend, but she can't help herself in trying to help her friends. This will keep you reading until the end.

A good cozy mystery overall, but really didn’t like Elaine. When a 20 year old disappeared mystery is investigated, the past is not happy to revisit. Would recommend. First I’ve read in the series.

4th in Food Blogger Mysteries

Hope at Home is all set to teach her first blogging class at the library in Jefferson. She also is learning about podcasting from her childhood friend Devon Markham. Devon's mother went missing 20 years ago this Valentine's day and she's back to catch the killer. Hope is looking forward to a few days away with her boyfriend the chief of police. Devon has asked Hope for help in tracking down clues with her the night she visited Devon's apartment. The next day Claire, Hope's sister called her and said to come to her shop right away that she checked on Devon who had an apartment right above Claire 's shop. When she arrived what they walked into was a ransacked apartment. They reported to the detective that doesn't usually take them seriously for all the times they have interfered in his investigations.

Later that day she was with her friend Drew the reporter when he got a phone call saying that there was an accident, she tag alone with him to discover that it was Devon who went off the road into a ditch and was pronounced dead. Hope didn't believe it was an accident and told her boyfriend that the police chief.

So know she had 2 killer's to find one from 20 years ago and one form today because she believed that Devon found something out that got her killed.
With a New England blizzard on it's way to ruin her chance of a get away she puts all her engery in catching a killer. There where so many twist and turns in this story I couldn't figure out the killer or the reason, it came as a complete at in the end.

I love Hope at Home and all her helpful hints and recipes, it's like visting an old friend when I read one of her books. Can't wait for the next book in this series!!

From the moment I saw the beautiful book cover, I knew I was going to love this new addition to the series.
Hope Early is a fun character, she’s easy to like, and she takes her friendships very seriously, as you will find out in The Corpse Who Knew Too Much.
When a high school friend returns home, Hope is surprised to learn that she’s still searching for answers about her mothers disappearance years ago.
Things seem strange to Hope, so when her friend Devon reaches out for help, Hope will go against her better judgement to get answers.

I loved this book, from beginning to end. I was kept guessing and I really enjoyed the mystery.
