Very nice book! Loved the characters and the storyline, quick read. Can't wait to read more by Penny Goetjen

Although the premise of this story was promising, I unfortunately found it to be some what lacking.
I thought the characters were intriguing, but i simply didn't find myself being drawn in to this story and wanting to dive back in to it as often as I usually would.

Set on the island of St. Thomas following a major hurricane, this book focuses around a female photographer who has returned to the island to rebuild her mother's home and to look for her lost love (who appears to have vanished). She's overwhelmed by the devastation and the lack of places to live and work. When she takes a job house-sitting, she becomes embroiled in a mystery that threatens her safety. This was a fast-paced book with an interesting plot.

In Which Olivia Returns...
Olivia returns to St Thomas with a mission - restoring her mother’s bungalow. Things don’t go exactly to plan for her, however, and she unwittingly becomes a prime suspect in a murder investigation. Enjoyable suspense with a dramatic setting. This is the second book in this series (the first being ‘The Empty Chair’).

A fun, easy read is how I would describe this book. Although the investigation and results seemed a bit unbelievable, the story was realistic enough to take my mind out of Michigan to the island paradise of St. Thomas. This was the second book in a series. I had not read the first one, but it was easy to figure out what was going on. Overall a cute, fast paced read that was a good distraction from life.

This book kept you guessing, although the ending wasn’t that believable. It is the second book and I hadn’t read the first but it was easy to realise the story of the first book whilst following the story. The characters could have more depth and the investigator wasn’t very thorough. The book was an easy read, so didn’t require too much concentration.

I haven't read the first book in this series, so wasn't aware of the back story. I quickly managed to get the gist though. I thought some parts of the story were well written and others not so much.
I thought the ending was a little strange and unbelievable.
It was ok and very easy to read for a sunny day in the garden.

I had not read the first book in this series and perhaps I would have enjoyed this book more if I had. This was a decent read - the sort of book which many would describe as a great book to take on holiday. While I quite liked it, I found it hard to engage with the characters and some aspects of the plot were a bit trite, like the convenient millionaire.

This is book two in a series, in which I did not read the first one. I was able to follow the story, but clearly there is a lot of backstory that I was missing.

Olivia heads back to the Virgin Islands after a devastating hurricane to try to rebuild her mother's home that was destroyed, not by the hurricane, but by arson. Without a plan in place, Olivia has a series of mishaps, and she finds herself the suspect of a murder investigation. Trying to clear her own name, Olivia attempts help the police solve the murder, all the while she is also trying to find her lost love, Colton.

It was difficult to write a description of this book, as the plot is all over the place. Several parts are so unbelievable, and the main character seems to just continue on as normal when really bad things happen to her. It was frustrating from beginning to end, and I'm glad that I'm done with it. I did rate it two stars only because I didn't read the first book, and I feel like if I had, maybe it would have been a little better.

I received this free book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

For the most part the book was quite well written, with a good narrative style. I was enticed to keep reading to find out what happens.

Some caveats though. I found it hard to suspend disbelief at times, and was surprised at the lack of thoroughness displayed by the investigating officer. I was also unable to accept the final situational explanation.
