Jennings writes a thorough fantasy that pulls you into the book immediately. The creatures are complex and well developed. I enjoyed the book and look forward to next in series.

i really enjoyed reading this book, the characters were great and I really enjoyed the storyline. I had enjoyed the first book in the series.

When I agreed to read this book I was not sure what I was going to think about it. This is the second book in the Highglade series, and I have not read the first one so I was not sure how this was going to go. I can honestly say that this book can be read as a stand-alone. I did not feel like I was missing information. I was able to read and enjoy this book as a whole.

This book is fast-paced and I was pulled into the story quickly. Once I started this book I did not want to put it down. This is more of a military fantasy which is something I do not read much but it was written in such a way that I loved it.

This book is perfect for any lovers of fantasy!
