I have been reading R.C. Ryan's books for years and was looking forward to this new series, but while I did enjoy the first book, This Cowboy of Mine unfortunately fell short for me. Her books are dual point of view, but very little of the book was from Casey's point of view. Additionally, it was a little confusing at times whose perspective a section was from and there was a little head hopping with the secondary characters.

And the storyline was lacking for me. Very little happened throughout the story and given that Kirby moved back to Wyoming to buy her late uncle's ranch from her cousin, you would have expected that storyline to be explored more but apart from sharing with some of her plans, she had one conversation with her cousin on page and then it was over.

I enjoyed getting to spend more time with the Merrick family but otherwise, this story just wasn't what I hoped it would be.

This is the second book I have read in the series. It is similar in themes as the first book, its part romance and part mystery/thriller. This book focuses on Casey, part of the Merrick family and a veterinarian and Kirby, a former part time resident of the area who has returned to try and take charge of her uncles ranch.

The romance is sweet and just like the first book, the family cast of characters are amazing, charming and it was so wonderful to be back in their world.

Then the book took a turn into a bit more darkness just like the first. Be prepared for not just a simple love story.

Under the picturesque Teton Mountains of Wyoming is the Merrick Ranch - the second book in the Series by R.C. Ryan and she doesn't disappoint. Casey Merrick has always enjoyed his own company in the wide open spaces. He learned to love the beauty of the Wild Mustangs from a young and which prompted him to become a Vet.
While on one of treks into the wilderness he runs across one Kirby Regan and both of their lives will change for ever.
This book is full of suspense, surprises and the joy of family love.
II hope you enjoy this book as much as I did as I couldn't put it down until I read the last word..

Great story by R.C. Ryan! I'm really enjoying everything written by her. I loved Kirby and Casey's chemistry in this story. I found it was a quick and easy read.

So this is my first read of a book by RC Ryan & I loved it! Casey is a vet and rancher. He's a middle child and he loves to get away into the hills to clear his head and spend time in nature. When he finds a hurt wild horse, he knows he won't be able to get her home and the vet in him won't allow him to leave her. He finds a cave where he can stay with the injured horse.
Kirby Regan has returned to Wyoming after many years away working in Washington DC. . With a new job counting herds of wild horses she goes out & she hurts herself and finds out there is an escaped convict on the loose, she decides she needs to seek shelter, she finds the closest place she can - a cave.

When Kirby and Casey first meet, it isn't too good. As things begin to get more involved, after they come down from the mountain, Kirby finds herself in need of a place to stay, so the Merrick lets her stay with him.... What happens next? You have to read it to find out!!

This book was ok. For a cowboy romance I was left wanting more rugged, manly, can’t hold back angsty feelings while reading it.

A new author for me and I enjoyed every minute of it! There's a bit if romance, suspense, and a whole lot of action.

It's a story of love, family, and fortitude that will take you away to the base of the Grand Tetons in Wyoming where it takes place. You feel the majesty of the mountains and become involved with the Merrick family as they welcome an injured stranger who changes their lives.I

One disappointment in the extra story by Carolyn Brown wasn't included as advertised. Looking forward to Jonah's story this summer and will be sure to go back and read Brand and Avery's. You should too!

I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinions.

I  received an advanced copy of this ebook, from the publisher to read, and give an honest review. This book is well written and the characters are described well. This story is set in Wyoming. I enjoyed how this was slow and sweet romance. The characters are enjoyable. TRIGGER WARNINGS DEATH OF FAMILY MEMBERS. The author did a fantastic job writing this book. This is the first in this series. The writing style is great. I really enjoyed how the main characters Casey Merrick is a veterinarian and Kirby Regan works for the Association of Land Management. This book is in stores now for $7.99 (USD). This is the second book in the Wranglers Of Wyoming series. I can't wait to read more books of this series.

My Review: This might be one of my new favorite cowboy romance series. I am always a sucker for Wyoming cowboys in particular, thanks to my childhood growing up there. After reading the first book, I was super excited to get into this one, Casey was my favorite brother and I couldn't wait to read his story. He did not disappoint me, he was just as expected, a little rough and tough, self-reliant, strong cowboy but with that quiet and patient side needed to work with animals. Kirby was also a girl after my own heart, grew up on a ranch and returning after a life in the big city. She still had that strong and independent streak that I really love in female lead characters. This book definitely gives you a glimpse of the toughness required to be a rancher in Wyoming, I definitely don't miss those winters! The suspense and danger (not to mention the tension between Casey & Kirby) keep the pages turning and even though it was easy to predict what was going to happen, it was still a very engaging read.

My Rating: I am really enjoying this series and really loved getting to know Casey more. I love the close knit family and open spaces. This is definitely a series I will keep following. I give it a rating of Four Paws!

Another great suspenseful cowboy romance by RC Ryan! I really love reading all her stories! They are so full of family, love, and cowboys. which is catnip for me! Casey & Kirby have quite the meet cute....they get stuck in a cave during a snow storm with a killer on the lose! Kirby hurts her ankle & Casey is so sweet and caring! Once they’re able to leave Kirby realizes her truck has been stolen and her apt had been gone through.....Casey is worried so he has Kirby stay at the ranch! They both love wild horses. These two have a great chemistry together. I really enjoyed watching these two fall in love! It took some time though for these two to get there but oh so worth every page! I also loved the family dynamic in this book and the previous one as well! All in all a sweet suspenseful cowboy romance!! Can’t wait for the next one!

This started too slow for me to really get into the book. Lots of conversations with Casey's family and between Casey and Kirby in the cave. Other than narrative about their feelings for each other, it took too long to show any interest.

This was my first R.C Ryan book but not my last!
I loved the hero and heroine. The large Merrick family are a hoot! I want more!
The action at the end was a bit contrived but overall, a wonderful book!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an arc in exchange for my honest review.

Casey Merrick is a veterinarian and after the opening of the book where you find out how he came to that life choice. You are taken on his journey back up into the Tetons of Wyoming where he comes upon an injured mustang. Caring for the horse he needs to look for shelter for a storm that has flown in and begins to drop snow.
Kirby Regan has left her job in D.C. and transferred to Wyoming with the hopes of buying her uncle's ranch where she grew up. She has also been given her first assignment to locate and number the herds of Mustangs. While hiking she receives a call from her boss about an escaped convict and in her efforts of wanting to get back to her truck, she injuries her ankle. She comes across a cave and makes a camp inside. This where the two meets with her pointing her rifle at Casey. He then helps with her ankle and with the mustang’s injuries.
Later when they make it out and down the mountain, they spend more time together first while she heals and second because she has her truck stolen and the apartment was broken into. The story then takes you on a journey of the two of them finding each other as a couple but with the normal and not so normal ways couple’s bond. Found this to be a good story and she does find her truck which adds to the story. If you have read any of the other books you will find the same characters in this one as well. A very good book.

The Cowboy of Mine by R.C. Ryan is the second book in the Wranglers of Wyoming series. I thought the story was terrific and I am really enjoying this series. R.C. I highly recommend this story and am looking forward to the next one in this series.

This Cowboy of Mine is the second title in the Wranglers of Wyoming series and brings us Casey and Kirby’s story – one full of suspense, discovery, and of course, that happy ending we all crave.

I fell in love with the large, rambunctious Merrick family at the start of this series, and my enjoyment of their close bonds and general shenanigans continue. This time around we get up close and personal with Casey who not only tends to the ranch but is a veterinarian as well. He’s taken a break from the ranch to head to the quiet solitude of the high country, and while roaming the hillsides comes across a badly injured horse who he cannot leave behind. A snowstorm is heading in so Casey takes shelter in a nearby cave until the storm passes… but this injured horse soon won’t be his only company.

Kirby has left behind the madness of Washington, D.C. in exchange for the hard work and beauty of her deceased uncle’s ranch in Wyoming. She’s figuring out a way to buy the ranch from her cousin but for now, her day job will have to do. She’s out counting wild horses when she gets a message from her boss to head back with caution – there is an escaped convict in the area. As she’s heading back she injures her ankle and has to take shelter… in a cave already occupied, but by who is the question. Well, the long end of a rifle should answer that question.

I was easily caught up in This Cowboy of Mine. I enjoyed Kirby’s and Casey’s romance, loved getting involved with the Merrick family once again, had a bit of excitement as the bad guy is brought down… and loved watching two people who are exactly right for each other fall in love and find a way to make it all work for them.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher, Forever via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Sweet, gentle cowboy romance…

The Merricks are back and Casey’s story was such a good one! He and his family had suffered a heartbreaking loss early on which, luckily, brought the multi-generational group even closer together. They loved, laughed, joked and always had each other’s back. Always… When Kirby entered his life on the other end of a rifle, Casey was quick to take control of the situation. Happily, Kirby took it right back…

Suspense, mystery and desire was there from the start. Given the drama they found themselves in this should have been a crazy drama-filled read but instead it was a thoughtful, gentle love story with spicy drama thrown in… Family was at the core and they were there every step of the way as Kirby and Casey found the only place they seemed destined to be – at each other’s sides…

I read this in one sitting – I guess I couldn’t tear myself away from the sexy, funny cowboy and the strong woman who loved him… *happy sigh*

Charming, mysterious, and engaging!

This Cowboy of Mine is an uplifting, suspenseful, cowboy romance that takes you back to the Merrick Ranch and into the lives of Kirby Regan, a young woman who finds herself unexpectedly in the sights of an escaped murderer, and the hardworking, dependable veterinarian, Casey Merrick who may have finally met the one woman he wants to protect and spend time with as much as the animals in his care.

The prose is fluid and smooth. The characters are caring, supportive, and kind. And the plot is a heartwarming, feel-good tale with a sliver of mystery that’s full of ranch life, love, friendship, community, family, romance, love, and intrigue.

Overall, This Cowboy of Mine is another sweet, satisfying addition to the Wranglers of Wyoming series by Ryan with its western charm, endearing characters, underlying thread of danger, and reminder of how important it is to have a place where you can feel safe and are happy to call home.
