Great gift idea for a wedding or shower with baking pans and hot mitts.

This book was so much fun!
I liked the recipes and they had lots of tips.
My only complaint would be lack of pictures. I love pictures in my cookbooks, especially baking ones. I like to know how they are supposed to look especially if decorating.
All in all very fun cookbook and will be trying lots of the recipes.

This is a lovely book with both traditional and new recipes, beautifully presented and photographed. The recipes are organized by season and/or holiday and provide inspiration and a reminder that besides celebrating family occasions and life events,
dessert is a celebration for your taste and your senses. The subject and timing of the book’s publication is perfect since holidays are the time that folks bake and will appreciate some inspiration for their creations. There are also some fun recipes in the book that are a bit challenging to create. Having additional photos would be very helpful to determine how an unfamiliar recipe is supposed to look, i.e., Cake spaghetti and meatballs. Overall, it is a fun book!

A great selection of recipes for all seasons and occasions. Great explanations and baking hints. I received an advance ebook from the publisher and this is my unbiased review

Looking at the photos in this baking book makes me hungry!  Following a section on tools and ingredients there are special sections on things like how to work with dough, how to pipe and more.  The recipes are seasonally organized with an additional section on special occasion recipes.  The end of the book includes measurement conversions and resources.  In terms of the recipes, how about chocolate hazelnut bread pudding or pink lemonade bars or pumpkin swirl brownies or hot cocoa cupcakes?  The special section includes a recipe for an Italian cream wedding cake and peanut butter chocolate graduation caps, among others.  My only complaint...I wish that there had been even more illustrations.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and Callisto Media for the opportunity to review this book.

Celebrate with Baking is a fun collection of recipes. I like the Get Ready section and how it explains baking terminology, ingredient's, the how's and why's of baking and many other things. I love how it is divided into seasons and the recipes are straightforward and basic enough that I could give this cookbook to my 12 year old and let her loose in the kitchen. The few pictures are beautiful, but I wish there were more. We eat with our eyes first and pictures would definitely help that.

This is a short and cute cook book with lots of recipes.

There's a nice mix of sweet and savory recipes. I wish there were pictures of the finished recipes since that's something I look for in cook books. Some of these recipes seem complicated and require making glazes or toppings that require a bit more work than overage pies.

Overall this could be a nice cook book for hosting.

A fun recipe collection for the intermediate baker. A great book for anyone looking to try some more advanced decorating techniques.

A really nice seasonal celebratory book -- fairly easy recipes like Strawberry Shortcake Parfait, peach upside-down cake, chocolate cookie ice cream sandwiches, etc. I think it's very well suited for the occasional baker and just seeing the pink champagne cupcakes (never tried them, but will now) made me excited to get into the kitchen again. While I lean more towards interesting/new flavor combinations, this book has cool seasonal recipes that are fairly easy to decorate (my downfall) and fun to try. #CelebratewithBaking #NetGalley

Thank you NetGalley for this copy of CELEBRATE WITH BAKING. What a terrific cookbook this is! I was really surprised to read this was Malek's debut effort..it was exquisitely done, I would have thought he was an old pro. I LOVED how original all his recipes were, the names he gave them all as well as all the occasions he covered, VERY thorough. One thing I always look for in a cookbook is how "doable" the recipes are.--I think I would try at least 3\4 of the recipes in this book--he made all the recipes sound terrific, easy to prepare and delicious. Pictures were bright and colorful, the artistic layout in the book made it VERY eye-catching and appealing..so much of what grabs you initially when looking for a new cookbook is VISUAL...but if the recipes themselves weren't attractive, it wouldn't matter how good the pictures were..they really have to go hand-in-hand and they certainly do! Even the parts of a cookbook I usually pass by..the kitchen essentials and the the measurement conversion were very well done. My ONLY criticism of this book would be it doesn't have enough pie recipes, but that just gives me something to look forward to with his next contribution! Best of luck to Malek with the success of this book, I LOVED it!

Wow love the cover...celebrate with baking gives you recipes for the four seasons that might pair with celebratory occasions. Starting with that gorgeous cake on the cover that caught my eye, this book aims to make baking more pleasurable and give you tips you may need to succeed.

What did I like? Sure there is some gorgeous looking recipes in this book that may suit occasions by seasons. I enjoyed reading through the baking tips, and looking at various pictures in the recipe section. Author makes the recipes simple, with a standard outline.

Would I buy or recommend? I’m all about pictures....ALL about pictures so it was a bit of a disappointment that there was only one picture per chapter. I would rather have a picture per recipe. I like looking at food, and if I’ve never seen it made before I want to see the attempt the author made. So if you care about pictures then this would probably not be for you. The tips are a wealth of information and some nice recipes for your money.

I received a copy to read and offer an opinion.

I received this ebook in exchange for an honest and fair review. This book made me. Hungry for all the baked things. I liked how the author divided the book by seasons rather than types of recipes. It had easy to find and bake recipes. The author took time to explain the tools needed to be successful.

The illustrations were excellent. I would have really enjoyed pictures of all the baked goods so I would know what they should look like. Overall this was a very good book and I would recommend it for novice as well as established bakers.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and give an honest review of this book.

I was looking forward to a baking book that was geared to special occasions with fun and interesting baking ideas. The recipes seemed pretty standard but they might be good for someone just starting a collection of cookbooks.

In a book with ideas for decorating your baked goods, you need plenty of eye catching photos.
In this book, there were very few photos. When you make items like ‘graveyard cake’ or ‘bunny cupcakes’ it is important to show how these items look when completed.

There was another problem with the photos. The cations were wrong on some. They identified a picture of a different recipe. Also, the photos need to be next to the recipe they are illustrating, not a page over.

I would have difficulty recommending this cookbook to beginning or experienced bakers.

Great baking cookbook! There are recipes for every season and some for special occasions. The recipes are well organized, clear and easy to follow, and they sound amazing. I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review

The recipes in this book sound so fabulous. I like that they are divided by seasons, so the ingredients included are really available. I can't wait to make the lemon pound cake, the s'more bars, candy cane chocolate bundy cake. I'll be making something for my daughters baby shower in the next couple weeks. This is a cookbook that I will keep on the top of my list.
This was an ARC from Netgalley.

Celebrate with Baking is a tutorial and resource guide plus recipe collection by Malek Binns. Due out 14th July 2020 from Callisto on their Rockridge Press imprint, it's 198 pages (for the print copy) and available in paperback and ebook formats (ebook is available now). It's worth noting that the ebook format has a handy interactive table of contents as well as interactive links. I've really become enamored of ebooks with interactive formats lately. For Kindle Unlimited subscribers, this book is included in the KU subscription library to borrow and read for free.

The introduction (indeed the whole book) is written very clearly and covers everything from tools to supplies to "how-to" tutorials and techniques. The recipes are arranged by seasons with holiday recipes for each season grouped with thematically similar items. Not all the recipes are for desserts or cakes, there are a lot of savory choices and dinner breads and rolls included.

The recipes have their ingredients listed bullet style in a sidebar. Measurements are given in US standard only. Special tools and ingredients are also listed, along with yields and cooking directions. Most of the ingredients are easily sourced at any moderately well stocked grocery store. The book also includes a short author bio and a metric conversion chart, but lacks any index or a general ingredients index. The recipes themselves are varied, and represent a wide variety of holidays and occasions to celebrate. They're tasty and many are simple and easy to prepare, requiring few ingredients and little prep time.

My main quibble with the book is that the recipes are mostly not photographed. There are a few photos, and they're beautifully clear and attractive, but they only represent about 5% of the recipes included in the book. It is, however, a very well written book with a positive and upbeat "vibe" and the author's voice is absolutely full of fun! I would love to be able to take a class or three with him as a teacher.

Four stars. I really enjoyed the aesthetic of this book and the author's enthusiasm and expertise.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.
