Well developed characters and the descriptions of locations were picturesque. I usually don't read a lot of western books but every once in a while, it is a nice change. This was a coming of age western and did not disappoint. I learned a lot while reading which is also a plus.

A great page turner, if you love a coming of age yarn this will be right up your street. This book will transport you to the American wilderness of early 19th century America

An excellent western following one man's journey into a better life. Vowing to build a different future, his paths must cross many difficult roads before he can truly be free. In Isaiah Stiener, Brian De La Cour has given us a character determined to build his life his own way and built a back story that would test his faith in God and mankind. Realistic descriptions of life in the Old West make this a good read. Hope there is a sequel in the works.
