This was ok, but not brilliant. Two things: it is definitely the seventh in a series and, if you haven't read the first six books, you're missing half the story. Even the first romantic interlude between the two leads happens in a prior book. Secondly, this suffers from a terminal case of "drama by refusing to talk". Moreover, what could have been a nice piece of outside drama was instead pushed aside and dismissed in a manner that did not give the reader the satisfaction one looks for in these cases. Good but not great.
