The book wasn't exactly what I thought, yet I'm not really sure what I was expecting. It will be fun to re-read after I have had a recent viewing of the movie.

Finished reading ALRIGHT ALRIGHT ALRIGHT via NetGalley on Saturday morning and woke up this morning to a notification that my copy of it had shipped from Amazon...I'm not even mad about it b/c it was so wonderful! I even ordered another copy for my school's library today too! Born in Huntsville, a teenager in Austin in the 90s, worked in TX public high schools since 2002--"Dazed and Confused" is, to me, a perfect movie. This book puts you in the mind of a great filmmaker and gives you a glimpse into the lives of so many actors who went on to fame and fortune but still remember their summer in Austin with fondness.

An interesting read in a unique format. Alright, Alright, Alright by Melissa Maerz reads as an oral history of the making of a cult classic film. Structured less as interviews and more as collected remembrances, this book touches on the nature of nostalgia, and how we look back on the important phases of our lives, positive or negative. I was entertained by how people's memories differed, and where there were gaps in the story that only some of the subjects were able to fill in. A must for anyone who loves the movie, or is big on pop culture!

Thank you to NetGalley for this opportunity to read 'Alright, Alright, Alright' before it's publish date. As a fan of the movie 'Dazed and Confused" I was very interested in this book. After reading it, I had to watch it again, so I could pick up on a lot of the inside information mentioned in the book.
